Actually, I remember that when they were hyping "Have You Seen This Snail," there were commercial segments where Patchy was looking for Gary by following a trail of slime. On the night of the premier, the trail ended at the studio of that old Slime Time game show, and Patchy guest starred for the events happening between the special. It happened a long time ago, yet I still remember it.
One perk of these Spongey Bits videos and Square Theory is being able to get a couple of tiny sneak peeks to the next seasonal review. A great evaluation like always, Pieguy.
Actually I have a theory on why they didn't have patchy in the movie,first of all it's probably cause they were to busy with Tom Kenny voicing spongebob but they did give us a hint that patchy is actually the cyclops! Did u ever notice how the cyclops is rolling around on the ground with the fish attacking him is what patchys last cameo on the "sponge who could fly" looked like but he was covered with that VHS film and we did see how obsessed he was with spongebob on that episode. After all he did have a room full of spongebob stuff and was about to...lol..run away,so it's possible the cyclops was patchy

Just as a warning, if you do ever decide to see the Big Time Rush episode with Patchy in it, it's about as stupid as any other episode of Big Time Rush (not that it's ALWAYS a bad show, mind you). Basically, he is part of the subplot and helps James and Carlos find buried treasure.
Umm for the “you wish” one they should keep the original patchy segment but right at the part where you’re supposed to vote, add a menu thing and you use your remote to click the ending you want (also remove the phone number)

I watched the Patchy segments where they skip Patchy calling random celebrities and got straight on with Patchy's show thingy and him looking for Spongebob. It was when the episode first aired. (For me at least.)
I think the Patchy stuff was funny up until they started banking on him in TOS to carry the whole thing--the signs of Franchise Original Sin were there from season 4.
You know what I think they might have done with Patchy if he appeared in the specials? I can understand the dislike for You Wish today but it was so awesome being a kid & watching the premiere. Shanghaied will always be one of my top favorite episodes & always feel like a special. Sure, it has lost some of its magic but it's just a very good memory that I'd like to keep close. I'm still proud of myself for voting for the right candidate.

I can't speak to the prints that Nick UK broadcast now, but I remember when they aired the second part of Patchy's "Shanghaied" segment along with "Gary Takes a Bath", and it was borderline unwatchable due to the audio being ahead of the video-- ditto the episode they paired it with. The most noticeable instances of this were when Potty blows up and when SpongeBob is whacked over the head with a cane; the sound effects of each clearly played far too early. I'm not sure why they broadcast it in that state, since Shanghaied's audio was perfectly in-sync. Likewise, I'm not sure why "The Secret Box" feature(d?) AudioBob OutofSyncPants, yet "Band Geeks" seem(ed?) unaffected.
My fav Patchy segments are the Christmas segment, You Wish, The Lost Episode segment, House Party segment, Caveland segment, and the segment where he was a frycook at “The Poop Deck” restaurant.

I had no idea what you were talking about at first since I had no idea about the editing (and I was too little at the time to notice that it was edited). And Patchy just seems to be a mixed bag. Sometimes he does hilarious, but other times it's just awkward. The most awkward I can think of is Atlantis Squarepantis, fittingly. I can remember watching it when it first aired and my Mom seeing a Patchy segment and asking, "What is this garbage?!" It was difficult to persuade her that it was SpongeBob. Of course, modern SpongeBob is also usually garbage, so... And I think the reason for all of the pointless celebrity cameos was because a lot of celebrities sort of knew what SpongeBob was and wanted in on the cash-grab. They just waned to get paid in exchange for giving a nod to SpongeBob's significance.

To be honest, I think that it's a spongebob Christmas will be the last time we see patchy. They haven't used him in season nine so far and there's nothing to suggest there will be in factory fresh either.

believe it or not he actually did have something to do with have you seen this snail (where's gary) where there were commercials where him and Tony hawk (yea skateboarder Tony hawk) would go around the world looking for gary and patchy actually finds him when he appears as a guest on "Friday night slime time" where and when the episode aired, so yea he wasn't in the episode but he was in stuff about this episode. And I think the reason for all of the pointless celebrity cameos was because a lot of celebrities sort of knew what SpongeBob was and wanted in on the cash-grab. They just waned to get paid in exchange for giving a nod to SpongeBob's significance.
Truth Or Square made me wish Patchy would never appear again and when I first watched Truth Or Square I thought he died.

I looked up the patchy segments in "you wish" But just found a bunch of toy ads. It confuses me, but you would think something like that would be everywhere.

To be honest, I think that it's a spongebob Christmas will be the last time we see patchy. They haven't used him in season nine so far and there's nothing to suggest there will be in factory fresh either.

In all honesty, it feels weird, as it airs in 2 parts and has way more commercials. You also see all the filler they used more clearly in the non-Patchy version, even though his stuff is also filler.
That statement makes it very interesting. But yeah, Truth or Square was almost entirely filler.

Nah, I've already talked about Truth or Square in depth with Mr. Enter, so there isn't really any spoilers here as to how I feel about it. Besides, I wanted to get out all my hatred for the Patchy segments now, so I could focus more on the SB stuff in that episode for the season 6 review.

Perhaps you should know that in the original airing of Atlantis SquarePantis, Patchy didn't appear. His segments were only added in reruns.

believe it or not he actually did have something to do with have you seen this snail (where's gary) where there were commercials where him and Tony hawk (yea skateboarder Tony hawk) would go around the world looking for gary and patchy actually finds him when he appears as a guest on "Friday night slime time" where and when the episode aired, so yea he wasn't in the episode but he was in stuff about this episode. (oh and if your wondering Tony ended up in time square)
Nick actually ends Truth or Square at the wedding part. SO THAT MAKES LIKE 3 DIFFERENT VERSIONS.

I was actually wondering if they finally stopped Spongebob as I hadn't heard of them doing anything past their 10th season. Well, I looked it up and they're on season 17 now...their last episode was on like July 16th...yeah, it doesn't look like they're stopping any time soon.
