    The new cover looks great. Right decision to replace instead of cleaning up the old one.

    Thank you for this video. My construction people left without putting the fan back up, which meant no bathroom light for days. Couldn't figure out what those wire things were for and now I do.

    thanks very much for posting this video! I just replaced a light bulb in the fan and when I tried to put the cover back it wouldn't stay up on the one side. I couldn't figure it out until I noticed on the video it has a dual metal spring catch and I only saw one mine (on the side that didn't catch). Another person at the house had yanked the cover down too far, pulling out the metal catch / bending the one side down all the way flat, so you couldn't see it was there. It was a challenge just to bend it back straight while standing on a step stool. But I was able to get it up ok now. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the "How To" video cuz gettin this sumbitch back in been drivin me half batshit loony tryin to get it off for the last hour! Now, my next question is...
    How do ya repair all the dammed holes I put in the ceilin with the hammer, pry bar n screwdrivers I used to get it off?
    I need a drink.

    nice but I jst replaced the fan motor in my ancient Broan exhaust unit. There are no holes for these retention springs and no room to drill holes for the new cover like this. I am thinking of just finding some white coloured screws or using velcro somehow.

    How do you replace the springs??? if you need to put bigger springs in the fan grille?

      i know it's been a minute, but what did you end up doing? i briefly looked for longer spring clips, but before spending another 20 bucks on clips that might not work, i was going to try to extend the existing clips somehow. just havent decided how yet.

    Hello! Super easy! Now talk about how to replace an old cover that was NOT connected by springs - a center screw bolt holding pan with light bulb connection and cover. The cameo duct tape doesn’t look very good! Do not want to change the working fan, just cover. Currently experimenting on one bathroom with a non preferred method of flex glue to the popcorn-ish ceiling. Will use a razor blade to cut out if necessary and this works. Have been applying pressure to it for the past 16 hours. We shall see! Can you help make the other better with easier access? Oh... and no, duct tape is not really being used ... but thinking about it!

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад +1

      Oh wow. Lol! I would like to see that Camo duct tape fix. I will be fixing up and old one in my other bathroom soon. I hope it will help you.

    Do you have to get a cover to exactly match the fan you have or can you just buy generic covers that would fit any brand of fan?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад

      This one was the same brand a nu-tone. The cover actually cover less ceiling area, but was designed to be a replacement cover. What brand do you have? If you want send me a picture and I can try to help. Ufix247@gmail.com.

    I have tried to get 2 covers in and they keep breaking. I can just barely get my tiny hands behind the cover on the first side got it in but the second I can't even get my fingers behind it to get the clip in. Help. So I try to tilt it and then it breaks again 🥴

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  2 года назад

      That is weird. I know these type of covers are really funky to put on. Sorry your having such an issue. I’m going to start messing with this and see if I can come up with some easier way of doing this.
