- Jackie Groenen (24) is a Dutch football player who plays for Manchester United Women and the Dutch National Team. When Jackie was younger she played both judo and football. Judo became really serious for her and her goal was to reach the Olympic Games as a Judoka. But she also had a lot of talent in football. At first she combined them, but at some point she had to choose one. After playing for Duisburg, Chelsea and Frankfurt, she joined Manchester United Women this summer! Not a big scorer (though of course her match-winning goal against Sweden in the WC semifinal was massive) but excels in every other aspect of midfield play. She is tenacious--her best quality; excellent defender and very tough-minded; can run all day, strong on the ball; gets the ball downfield on the counter beautifully; a complete midfielder.
She is for sure one of the best midfielders in the world, what a spirit. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
