Leon's lockpad Thank you. The next video I post will be these locks gutted. or the Stanley for sure, I want to get the abus spp'd on video first. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Congratulations on your success my friend before you know it you will be well over a 100. As for the spp or racking I'm spp all the way, keep the video's coming mate 👍
As far as I'm concerned, open is open, and if it's fun for you, that's what counts. I know some people look down on raking, but if it works and you're enjoying yourself all the same, I say go for it. And if folks don't want their challenge locks raked, maybe that can be a new aspect of design for them to work on: anti-raking measures like restrictive bittings and keyways.
Nice video bud! My opinion on raking vs Spp is that I have alot of hooks and rakes and most of the time I Spp the locks I pick, although I do rake when I need to. Basically I Spp 90% of the time and rake 10% of the time. I like both sides of picking but I try to keep a 90% Spp ratio of my picking because it is a better way to learn how to manipulate pins in an exact way one by one. Spp does require more skill and Spp will always be a way to pick every lock as raking only allows you to open locks in a much smaller percentage of time.
I totally agree. For locksport I spp mostly. I rake when im on a job or need to rake up a false set on higher security lock. I only practice single pin picking as raking in my opinion is mostly luck and doesn't really use much skill. Thanks for watching and commenting.
LateNightLockPicker I agree with you that raking doesn't require as much skill as Spp but I have seen a big skill increase in my raking over time but it definitely doesn't require as much skill as Spp. There are skills necessary to rake as good as the pick allows vs a new picker, although I still lean towards Spp 90% of the time because locks can always be Sppd depending on your skill level and locks can not be raked every time you try regardless of the skill level.
Im the same way. I try all the fast things first then resort to single pin picking. If all else fails i will use my milwaukee rotary pick lol. to date I have only had to drill one lock and it was a 5 pin kwikset. That is the story I mentioned in this video. I tried everything, Raking, zipping, spping, bumping literally everything and I could not get it, I finally decided to drill it. the lock was upside down so the driver pins were on bottom. The person who lived in the apartment had pissed someone off so they filled the lock with some kind of glue or epoxy. I figured it out when I got home and examined the lock that caused me so much frustration.
I have big respect for you Chris. Many people only show their video if its certain length, and only if they got a lock open.. etc ect. But this is reality, not every lock will open right away and some wont open at all. And alot of people figure raking is cheating but I feel the same way as you. In the real world time is money so I will most likely Pick gun first, rake or bypass second, and spp last. I have opened a few peoples locks in under a minute and in those cases, they all say the same thing, "Wow, that was easy, lol " I have heard from more than a few locksmiths that they purposely take their time on lockouts because of how people feel about their lock being opened in less than a minute. Some feel like they shouldent pay you x amount for your work, some feel like their lock is not secure, ect ect. anyway Im rambling, but i hope you get the point of what i was saying :P I think raking has its place, but on video I think raking should be used in conjunction with SPPing
SPP is more fun and addictive while raking has it's place, but the novelty wears off as far as picking for a hobby. If I was trying to help get someone back in their home or whatever, raking would be my first choice, followed by bitch picking.
I have nothing against raking but I pretty much stick with SPP. It would definitely be my first choice in a real world situation though. But I say.... whatever floats your boat!
Ya I spp for hobby and usually rake or other fast methods for work. Luckily not many people use great locks around here. spp'ing under stress, while being watched and being paid is very intense. lol. How you making out with the locks I sent?
LateNightLockPicker I would probably have an anxiety attack trying to SPP with someone staring over my shoulder on their door. I'm really liking all the locks. I've gotten into everything but the two schlages you made. I'm really needing to film some picking. I might just get a new phone soon so I can do that.
Ya its intense. Im glad you got them open. keep working at the last 2 im sure you will get them. Your phone has a camera on it now doesn't it? Make some more videos bud. I need more to watch. :)
LateNightLockPicker we have a broken computer, no space on the cloud and my phone is full of pictures of the kids so my videos always get cut short. I pretty much need a phone or computer, but I promise I will pick something on camera soon. 😁
I know what you mean with the memory being full. I have like 50 GB of family photos and videos just on my computer and another 10GB on my phone. That's why I don't use my cell for videos. If my laptop goes down again Im done for on the videos. My desktop is already down. im gonna hold you to that promise on picking on cam.

Nice seeing someone else turn non-removable core padlocks into challenge locks. I'm currently working on a Master Lock 141D. LOL.

In the field 95% of the locks that I open get raked, bumped, pick gun or under the door tool and so on my friend. Like you said time is money.

LateNightLockPicker lol not a whole lot of people know what a rotary pick is my friend that's funny. I only try to use it as the last resort.
lol Me aswell.
