I love this camera. Mine is slightly different with no Bell & Howell branding but functionally identical. Very different from other 60’s cameras. Can’t wait to shoot more FPP film through it!

Looks good. Another helpful video from FPP. Footage looks great, the sepia 10 looks the part.

Next FPP Film Project -- "The Unauthorized Biography of Jim Carrey" -- starring John Fedele -- filmed by Mike Raso on FPP Double-8, Super8 and 16mm with vintage cameras. I'll pay my $2.75 for the matinee show for sure!!!!!!

Just FYI that camera has a wide normal to super telephoto lens with a crap factor to 35mm of 5.7, the lens is 57 to 142.5, it's not very wide at all unless you have an anamorphic lens adapter laying around.

Mikey-Mike (that was your rapper name, right?) -- the A1PX battery is a 1.5v battery, where the original battery for the camera was a 1.3v (mercury) battery. Your sepia-stock footage looks exposed OK, have your other test runs (the remake of "The 10 Commandments" -- filmed entirely on location in New Jersey) come out OK?

Personally, I have never "sweated" the 1.3v VS 1.5 cold dilemma. Close enough to get the job done. - Mike

I've shot probably 15 rolls through this same model over the past 3 to 4 years. I've shot FPP Cine40 (BW and colour negative) as well as 100D, Foma 100 reversal--essentially every fresh Regular 8 stock available. I have never had an issue with the 1.5 versus the 1.3 difference. Every roll was perfectly exposed.

@@rulebritannia1700 -- Thanks Mike and Owen -- I have used a goodly number of stills cameras where I have had the modern alkaline/1.5v equivalent of the original mercury 1.3v batteries -- typically I have found that I did need to tweak the exposure settings by 1 stop on most of the cameras. But I just got one of these Canonet 8mm cameras and am hoping to test it out -- wasn't sure if I needed to tweak the settings at all....

What the hell was that crap with the weird edits and repeating words?
