The whole idea of "repentance" is hardly ever mentioned in conversations? When I said "I do" to my wife of 24 years, a change occurred in my life. I can no longer do as I did before I married her. Wonder what she'd say if I told her I'd be faithful to her 364 days out of the year? She deserves full devotion! Imagine God as Creator, deserves every bit as more. Blessings, dear friends

@@davidmorris9668 Indeed, the "problem" only occurs when metaphors r taken too literally. Not every part of a metaphor is meant to have a spiritual meaning and the metaphors lose their meaning when we do that. The same applies to God's Word, we should never build doctrine based off of secondary details in metaphors.

Through repentance and Godly sorrow I had a personal encounter that opened my eyes to everything I couldn't see for years. @@rickyoder32 Thank you. I'm a backslidden Christian that was brought up in a Baptist church where they taught "once saved always saved." I'm not saying it's not accuate, it could be true to some degree but for me living that way alowed things to get really bad. I lost both my mother and father to cancer, I got with someone I thought was saved and was blessed with my son. She ended up doing every evil thing she could to me exept kill me. We separated and I took her to court and got full custody of my son. I'm not going into anymore detail about her because I don't want to slander her like she has me. I still pray for her from a safe distance. I've had both a rough and blessed life but I trusted the wrong people and got hurt in the process. I started having nightmares about gping to hell and suffering from sleep parralises or night terrors as some people call them. I wasent sure if this was a demonic attack or God trying to get my attention and let me know that once saved always saved was and is a lie and that I was in trouble if I kept living in sin as a hypocrite living a double life. So, I prayed without ceasing eveyday and kept my faith as I slowly tried to get away from addictive behaviors that I now knew where separating me from God. Everything stopped for almost two months and the nightmares and night terrors ceased. I will never give up and I consider what happened to me a blessing because it made me realise that this spiritual war that Jesus talked about when he said we wresle not against flesh and blood but against principalities in the air of evil in high places, he meant what said and it's very true. He was addressing everyone not just the lost!!! Now I take sin very seriously and try my best to stay on the narrow path that leads to heaven rather the than the wide one where everyone I know except my son is walking on as they seem to not care where they are headed. The wide path that leads to destruction and hell seems to be where most people gather, walk and call out to me. I've learned the hard way that just like job and the many other believers that where persecuted hated and murdered like Jesus because they spread the gospel and told the truth I too am Satan's enemy and if I have to make a decision I'd rather die for the truth than live for the lie. I was being targeted by God's advisory because when I got saved I became his enemy as well. Everyday is a spiritual war for souls and some don't even know or believe it is raging and they are in the middle of it thinking they are safe. Satan had Jesus killed and all of those who continued to preach the gospel and if we spread the word without fear of being hated and persecuted we are picking up our own crosses and following Jesus wherever our faith takes us. I know the devils not done with me, he's not going to leave me alone just because I follow Christ, he wants me dead or even worse ...ignorant of his existance, zomified by my phone and brainwashed by this satanic world. He never takes a break, evil never rests so don't get too comfortable. Anyway, this is my story and the reason I said pray for my family and I is because my family are all decieved and have created their own God that would never judge anyone of their wickedness. I think we all know people that cherry pick the bible and leave out the white thrown judgement. That used to be me but God literally woke me up. I've been having nightmares again and night terrors after two months of peace that's why we all could use some sensire prayer and I will pray for you all like I always do. I guess my message is never give up no matter how bad it gets!!! The devil wants you to give up and think your doomed. That's a lie from a lier!!! As long as you are alive and have breath in your lungs you still have a choice and a chance to take this all more seriously, look inside your own heart and rebuke it's evil nature in Jesus Christ's name. I feel the Lord's presence now and before I stuggled alot to get where I am. Jesus did everything he possibly could in his life, ministry, death and resurrection to make sure we had a savior that is him to save us. We have to put forth some effort on our part to reach up to his outstreched arms, repent and turn away from all wickedness or at least try. Willful sin is known sin, the sin we get used to and think is a lifestyle instead of an abomination. It's everything that we know we are doing wrong that is against Christ and everything that Christ suffered and died to atone/forgive for us on the cross!!! Ignorance is bliss and knowledge from God can direct us to the Lord and rightousness but be aware because the doctrine of demons/false knowledge like the lies of Satan himself will lead to madness, suicidal thoughts and ultimately hell. Choose this day who you will serve and serve the one true God with all that you where created to be, Even if it leads to persecution and death. Eternity awaits everyone and we who know good from evil cannot claim ignorance anymore. Pick up the sword of truth everyday against false philosophies and protect yourself with the shield of faith because we are in a war until Jesus himself crushes Satan and casts him into the pit. Be sober and vigilant, the devil dosent just came to kill and destroy the lost and confused he comes to kill and destroy all who can be decieved and he hates Christians more than anything because we share our faith with those who need guidance out of bondage!!! God bless you all I just had to let it all out.

Thank you Living Waters. This is a FANTASTIC WARNING to all Christians. This is what happens when we give people 'a religious experience' or a 'special prayer' to say to receive all these 'benefits' that come with becoming a Christian. When we tailor what we say to appeal to the heart of sinful man we literally gut the gospel until it is no longer the good news. Imagine if this man continues in his way and dies and stands before God to face judgement, will he think the message he received in his 20s was good news when he is told, "Depart from Me, I never knew you?" In this man's case, he has definitely heard the genuine good news now at least once and if he repents and puts his faith and trust in Jesus and stands before God on judgement day, he will be so grateful someone loved him enough to tell him the truth.
We must be faithful. It's our mission to seek out the deceived and deliver to them the message of the gospel. Not this false message that says God is (=) love and His only desire is to serve us and give us everything our hearts have ever wanted, oh and by the way, He weeps over all the bad things happening in the world, but He's too weak to do anything about it. That's not the God of the Bible. And He didn't become a man and die for our sins so we can have warm fuzzy feelings and our best life now. We need to understand sin twisted everything and made it perverse. Everything is corrupted and dying, because of our sin. And yet we tailor our message to the lost to appeal to their hearts? Have we forgotten or failed to consider Jeremiah 17:9-10?
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things,
    And desperately wicked;
    Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
    I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings." Oh that we would stop witnessing to others using the corrupted reasoning of man and rely completely on the incorruptible pure and holy word of God. How could we ever improve upon God? Never should it be said, and yet, isn't that what what are doing when we "edit" the gospel to present to the lost? No, the word of the Lord is sufficient and cannot be improved upon, Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I'm so grateful for Ray Comfort and his witnessing videos. He's helped me to put into words the message I want to share with others, and when I feel I haven't necessarily done the best job of it, I can always direct them to videos like this. It's so important. More than ever, God has opened my eyes lately to the vast number of "Christians" who aren't even saved, because they don't know this stuff. Which is almost more dangerous than atheism, in some ways, because other true Christians don't realize they need to be witnessed to.

James 2:14-26 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
18 But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Hi James Christ is not a minister of lawlessness...........READ 1John he who continues in sin does not KNOW Christ. What is sin.......lawlessness. 1JOHN 3:4
The works of the Law show us we break them & can't be saved by our perfect following of the Law. So we can't save ourselves by that as our fathers' were earthly & not heavenly like Christ's.
Even whilst we understand God's instructions are good righteous and spiritual because God gave them for our blessing they will in no wise cover our lack of perfection as each of us has broken them.. We need the blood of Christ.
The Law shows us our condition...... we have sinful flesh until we are in are glorified body. The mercy of Messiah forgives all our repented of sin but does not condone us to love sin.
We are meant to grow into righteousness as faith without works cannot save us either. So the 2nd step in salvation is learning to walk as a redeemed from sin person through following Christ's example through love. Our hearts are changed to DESIRE the good and hate the evil even as we stumble at times.
A wicked person LOVES their sin and does not have a repentant heart & will not seek to change. If you have accepted Jesus your nature is being changed by the Holy Spirit as you read the Bible and then DO what it says is good.
Hope you get it. No liar, fornicator homosexual or drunkard will have the right to eat of the tree of life.......so our actual behaviour AFTER believing in Christ DOES have a purpose and is part of our walk or race to win a prize called eternal life. If you choose to maintain rebellion as a deathstyle you will receive death as you have not valued Christ's blood and are not repentant.. The soul that sins shall die. Blessings of the Truth of God's Word to set you free from the imaginations of men. Mat 5 :17-22 is gentiles being grafted into Israel the Kahal/ Assembly of the body of Messiah. They learn how to NOT defile their bodies as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. No sexual defilement and no food that is defiled according to biblical standard as the starting point. Food is leviticus 11 as Jesus and all Israel ate. These are the 1st instructions and verse 22 says every Sabbath everywhere God's Word is taught for the new gentile believers to learn more about the God of the Bible's Ways. Peace is in obedience Through Faith in Messiah. FJ

Without the filling of Holy Spirit, no one is saved. It speaks about it in great detail in The Book of Acts. I don't mean speaking in tongues, but the power to overcome this world through the supernatural presence of Jesus in your daily walk, relationship with him.

@@synthoelectro Yes, people often confuse what Salvation actually is. When Paul talks about being saved by grace through faith, he is referring to regeneration/being made alive not justification or forgiveness(though both of those are important too). It might be interesting to note that Paul goes out of His way to seperate the word Salvation and justification in Romans 3 and 4. Notice that Salvation isn't ever used their. People often see Salvation as justification bc it happens upon conversion just like regeneration(which does happen don't get me wrong) but most of the time when it is used in Acts and the letters of Paul, it is talking about regeneration. I think we have a tendency to significantly leave out some of the very important aspects of Salvation sometimes. Another thing that isn't mentioned far too often is the reserrection. I hear all about Jesus's death(which is great) but why do so many never mention His reserrection? The plan of redemption couldn't even be complete without that, Paul says if Christ wasn't raised we would still be in our sins(unregerated). Tje reserrection is soooo important for we are "saved by His life"(Romans 5:10). My apologies for the spill, God bless u.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who doe such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Continue in sin . . . your under the law.

@John Steel I`m glad you pray! But I would beg you open the scriptures yourself. Jesus is our High Priest, and not he Pope. Jesus is the only way to enter Gods Kingdom, not Mary. If you allow a Priest to tell you what Gods word says, and do not seek it out, and prove all things by Gods word, you will be deceived into following error. God could care less about our religions, He cares about truth. He cares about his chosen becoming like Jesus. He sanctifies and makes holy those who truly believe His word, and are born again of the Spirit of God. To the end that we will walk in his truth, in true love for the brethren and every person. Religion will not save you. Mary or any saint will not save you. Only believing the gospel, seeking out and obeying his word taught by the Holy Spirit, not man, will wash us and cleanse us of the filth of the flesh! Jesus biggest rebuke in the whole bible was to the religous leaders who held the truth in unrighteousness and lead all those who followed them to hell with themselves. Seek it out with your whole heart! Don`t take my word, or your Priest word. Let God be true, but every man a liar! In Christ love I have to warn you!

And isnt interesting that those of us NOT on your team, in YOUR eyes.... are the ones who are lost ? I dont judge y'all. I UNDERSTAND that life, spirit, and God are VAST mysteries... But YOU guys, because of what you've been TAUGHT to think, absolutely JUDGE and sit on some perch of righteousness...... Founded on WHAT ? What is RIGHTEOUS about BELIEVING a story about a man who "died for your sins"? like where do you get OFF having such arrogant gall ? CHRISTIANS... Keepers of the Truth... Good grief ! gimme a break. Remember the word HUMILITY ? I'm done sugar coating things out of fear of hurting your feelings or causing you to question your own belief system. its ok, its just tonight. just going ham on all these comments from 2 years ago. I apologize. god bless

@@anthonyveritas4902 I don’t argue with you as some Christians are defiantly judgmental and turn people off but people also judge God by how people who claim to be Christian act which is also wrong. I consider myself pretty open minded but when I found Jesus I was pretty closed minded mostly because I honestly was just coping with what I thought life was which was hard and that’s just the way it is…when Jesus hit me, it was a “click”, I did not expect such a life changing experience; it took me at least 10 years before my mind said something isn’t right about this fundamental idea of what “church” and being a “Christian” means. ..that’s when I began to seriously seek answers and open my mind from the locked fundamental Christian mind and began to explore the truth through others who I found were thinking like me only light years ahead of me .. like Derek and Sharon a Gilbert and the SkyWatch Team, Chuck Missler, Dr. Michael Heiser … and the list goes on. So admitting your nervous I don’t blame you…I get tongue tied to and there’s a camera on you…how can you even think?! I get it…and don’t apologize … Christians need to know they are being destructive and not constructive … I know the majority mean well and feel bad because they aren’t doing it right and our only job is to inform, it’s up to God to add…I didn’t know I was living a sinful life until someone pointed it out to me… it’s just how that message is relayed. Ray Comfort is no nonsense and gets right to the point about our sin…every person, even a Christian, is a sinner and if they say they are not runaway…the Bible says we are all sinners. You know the truth, it’s in you to know and grow. Peace be with you…be safe and look up - the time is near. Shalom.

People say we must repent of our sins to be saved. They say we must turn from our sins to be saved. I heard Ray Comfort say, while explaining what it means to repent, that we must stop sinning. But when I ask them if they have stopped sinning, I always get the same answer...I'm trying. Either you sin or you don't. If you must stop sinning to be saved, then admitting you still sin is admitting you're not saved. The answer is the Gospel. We aren't saved by trying to live a good life. Or by making an empty promise to not sin anymore. Or by attempting to be holy. We are saved by trusting in the finished work of Christ at Calvary.

We must constantly repent because we don't completely stop sinning. Read what the Apostle Paul says...he talks about the war of the flesh and says..."who will deliver me from this body of flesh?" Then he tells us, "Thank God!" "The answer is in Jesus Christ, our Lord." Read Romans, chapters 7 & 8.

My wife and I watch the living water produced content here on RUclips a lot. And we thoroughly enjoy the message being given to those needing to hear it. We think we have it down for when the LORD commands us to speak.
So many have been built up to reject truth and to even "hear you out" with no intentions of turning away from iniquity.
So the points delivered have to be as the Almighty needs that person to hear...who knows how long they have or however many chances remain before they die.

He's not doing anything for God's kingdom he's creating false converts for the devil. Ray teaches a hard core works salvation where he says you have to turn from your sins to be saved and that would be works (Jonah 3:10)
Think about it the Bible says sin is the transgression of the law, so if we are not sinning we're following the law, and the people that justify themselves by the law for salvation are fallen from grace (Galatians 5:4)
The only thing we have to do have eternal life is put our faith ON Jesus (Acts 16:30-31) not on yourself and Jesus not on good works and Jesus just Jesus, because grace and works do not mix whatsoever (Romans 11:6)
So all we have to do to recieve the gift is put our faith/trust on Jesus Acts 16:30-31and we do that by calling upon his name Romans 10:9-10,13 which is something Ray completely leaves out (on purpose because he's a wolf in sheep's clothing)

I grew up in a Christian home. My mother said I never caused her any concern or grief. Yet, the time came when I realised I was a miserable sinner and owed God a debt I could never pay.
That was the 22nd of November 1980 @ 21:00. It was both the saddest and happiest day of my life. Sad, because I realised I was religious, but didn’t know Christ. It was also the happiest day, because Jesus offered me salvation as a free gift. What a glorious day!

I come to God broken, flawed and especially guilty. And being guilty of sin, I fall well short of God's standard. No one enters his kingdom guilty of sin. God's law commands us not to sin, but not one human - except Jesus Christ himself - has ever been able to uphold the law and be without sin. We are by our very nature born to it. It would be a hopeless situation except for one thing: Grace.
Grace is defined as 'undeserved favor.' Getting something that you want and/or need even though you don't deserve it. Or Grace may also be defined as being forgiven for something even though you don't deserve to be forgiven.
This is why Jesus Christ came into the world, and this is the part of the world - and our natures - that he sets right. He offers us Grace. It is the ultimate gift - and it requires nothing from us except a response. That response is to believe in Him as the only begotten son of God, having been crucified and raised from the dead to seal the defeat of evil and sin once and for all. Sure, as Christians living in this fallen world, we will always struggle with the sin that affects so many things. But it is through the blessed hope of redemption and forgiveness through Christ that we can look forward to forgiveness and a condition worthy to join him in heaven.

*****WHAT IS THE *BIBLE’S* DEFINITION OF GRACE??? Understanding the BIBLICAL definition of ‘grace’ IN IT’S FULLNESS - and how the truth of what ‘grace’ is can be perverted - is absolutely vital to the Christian life! The truth about ‘grace’ goes far, far deeper than what initially meets the eye. In order to best understand ‘grace’ from a biblical perspective, we have to look at ALL the verses about it - not just one or two.
*There is a strong false teaching being taught in the church today: that Jesus ‘did it all’ and we are ‘covered by grace’ no matter how we live our lives - all we have to do is ‘rest’ and not ever have to worry about the consequences of continuing to walk in willful sin; grace is just a tarp that God threw over our sins to cover them all.
This dangerous false teaching blasphemously goes against everything that is taught in the bible about ‘grace’ and ‘salvation.’ As believers, we are NOT under this dispensation called ‘grace’ that allows us to live our lives however we want!! If we love OUR OWN IDEA of the ‘truth’ *INSTEAD* of loving GOD’S REAL TRUTH and seeking it FROM HIM, we will be headed for absolute deception and destruction.
The bible must be read BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, and not by leaning on our own understanding!*****
Yes, ‘grace’ IS God’s undeserved gift of election to us (HE chose US):
      2 Timothy 1:9
9 “He has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,”
      Titus 2:11
11 “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.”
Yes, salvation is OFFERED to all people. But only God’s TRUE children - those who obey the will of God and the commands of Jesus Christ will be saved in the end (there are many many many clear bible verses about this!). This does not refer to those who profess belief with their lips, and yet walk hypocritically in willful sin.
What CANNOT be ignored is that the bible has many examples of ‘grace’ being
*JESUS’ EMPOWERING HELP THAT ENABLES US TO DO WHAT WE CAN’T DO ON OUR OWN,* rather than something that makes God blind to willful sinning:
      *Hebrews **4:15**-16*
15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one *who has been tempted in every way, just as we are*-yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find *GRACE TO HELP US IN OUR TIME OF NEED.”*
---verse 15: Jesus knows what it feels like to be tempted as a human!
---verse 16: therefore, He has made His ENABLING POWER (grace) available to help us in our “time of need” (when we are tempted!)
      *Acts 14:3*
3 “So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, *who confirmed the message OF HIS GRACE BY ENABLING THEM to perform signs and wonders.*”
---*the definition of grace here is clearly GOD’S ENABLING POWER TO DO THINGS THAT WE CANNOT DO ON OUR OWN.* Without grace, we cannot perform signs/wonders, forgive others, experience godly love for others, overcome our sins, etc. Every good thing we recieve in our hearts is by the grace of God ALONE, through faith.
---there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins’
      Ephesians 4:7-8, 11-12
7 But to each one of us *GRACE HAS BEEN GIVEN AS CHRIST APPORTIONED IT.* 8 This is why it says:
      “When he ascended on high,
      he took many captives
and *GAVE GIFTS* to his people.”
      ..........
11 *SO CHRIST HIMSELF GAVE* the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 *TO EQUIP HIS PEOPLE FOR WORKS OF SERVICE,* so that the body of Christ may be built up
---here, we see ‘grace’ defined as God’s enabling power that equips us to perform works of service
---take special notice of verse 7 where it is stated that all of the Lord’s people recieve his grace IN DIFFERENT AMOUNTS; we will all recieve whatever amount of grace the Lord sees fit for us to have, in order to carry out God’s will - we are all called to carry out different kinds of works for the Kingdom of God! Some of us need more grace to do so, and some of us need less.
---there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins’
      *Acts 6:8*
8 “Now Stephen, a man *FULL OF GOD’S GRACE * and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.”
---here, we see it stated that it was God’s grace and power that enabled him to perform wonders and signs
---there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins’
      *2 Corinthians 8:1-3*
“And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about THE GRACE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, AND EVEN BEYOND THEIR ABILITY.”
---no human being can go beyond the limits of their own ability without the grace of God! *His grace EMPOWERS us to do what we cannot do on our own*
---*as we can see from this verse, the ‘grace of God’ has nothing to do with God overlooking our sins*

      Nuancolar,
      (comment 2 of 2)
      *2 Corinthians 12:8-9*
Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 “But he said to me, “*MY GRACE* is sufficient for you, for *MY POWER* is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s *POWER* may rest on me.”
---this is *JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF* making a direct connection between ‘GRACE’ and HIS POWER; it is an example of how He enables us in our weaknesses with his GRACE to do/endure what we can’t do/endure on our own
      *Acts **11:21**-23*
21 “*THE LORD’S HAND WAS WITH THEM,* and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. 22 News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.23 When he arrived and *SAW WHAT THE GRACE OF GOD HAD DONE,* he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.”
---Barnabas SAW *WHAT* the grace of God had done - *it wasn’t God overlooking someones sins that Barnabus saw,* it was the power (GIVEN BY GOD) of the disciples’ preaching that brought so many people to the Lord
      *Acts **20:32*
32 “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, *WHICH CAN BUILD YOU UP* and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
----again, we see grace being defined as *God’s enabling power;* there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins”
      *2 Corinthians **1:12*
12 “Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with *integrity and godly sincerity.* We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom *BUT ON GOD’S GRACE.*”
---here we see that Paul acknowledges that it is only by God’s empowering grace that they did all that they did; there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins.’
      *2 Corinthians 8:7*
7 “But since you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you-see that you also excel in this *GRACE OF GIVING.*”
--there is nothing in this verse showing ‘grace’ being defined as ‘God overlooking our sins.”
      *1 Peter **4:10*
10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
---in this definition of ‘grace,’ what does it have to do with God ‘overlooking our sins’???? It has to do with using gifts given to us by God, empowered by his grace to serve others!
      *2 Corinthians 9:8*
8 “And God is able to make ALL GRACE ABOUND TOWARD YOU that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, MAY ABOUND TO EVERY GOOD WORK”
----THUS, WE ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD - not a ‘grace’ that covers all willful sin, but by an extraordinary *empowering grace* GIVEN to us by God *to do the will of God* BY THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST, which we could never do on our own.
      *Ephesians 3:7*
7 “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of *GOD’S GRACE given me through the working of HIS POWER.*”
---here we see grace defined again as God’s enabling power to, in this case, “become a servant of this gospel”
      ---------
~Bible verses warning us that GRACE IS *NOT* A LICENSE TO SIN!~
      *Romans **6:14*
14 “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”
----this does NOT mean that God is overlooking our sins because we are ‘covered by grace!’ As we can see, there are multiple warnings about using grace as a license to sin:
      *Romans **6:15**-16*
15 “What then? *Shall we sin* because we are not under the law *but under grace? BY NO MEANS!* 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, *YOU ARE SLAVES of the one you obey-whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death,* or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?”
---verse 15: again, we see it stated here that we are NOT ‘covered by grace.’ Grace is not a license to keep sinning.
---if Jesus “did it all” then why, once we’re under grace (verse 15) would we be warned about the consequences of being a slave to sin (verse 16)??
---why would our obedience be highlighted (verse 16) if we had no part to play in our own salvation??
      *Romans 6:1-2*
1 “What shall we say, then? *Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 BY NO MEANS!* We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?”
-----here, we can clearly see it stated that we are NOT ‘covered by grace.’ Grace is not a license to keep sinning.
      *Jude 1:4*
4 “For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, *WHO PERVERT THE GRACE OF OUR GOD INTO A LICENSE FOR IMMORALITY AND DENY JESUS CHRIST* our only Sovereign and Lord.
5 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that *the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.*
----“deny Jesus Christ” doesn’t mean they don’t believe in Jesus - it means they acknowledge Him with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him, as prophesyed by Isaiah (Isaiah 29:13); they deny Him BY THEIR ACTIONS. There are teachers in the church who are teaching a *FALSE* definition of grace (those who teach “once saved, always saved”) and made it into a licence to keep on willfully sinning.
----verse 5: “those who do not believe” doesn’t mean ‘those who didn’t believe in God’ - it means those who saw and believed in him when he performed wonders to get them out of Egypt, but who DENIED HIM BY THEIR ACTIONS by HAVING NO FAITH IN HIS POWER and by pursuing their own lusts and sins. If we do the same in our own lives, we will NOT enter the kingdom of heaven.
      PLEASE CONSIDER:
      Matthew 13:40-43
40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be AT THE END OF THE AGE. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will WEED OUT OF HIS KINGDOM everything that causes sin AND ALL WHO DO EVIL. 42 *They will throw them INTO THE BLAZING FURNACE,* where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
---verse 41: If Jesus “did it all” on the cross, and we can just go ahead and keep sinning, then why does the Spirit say that at the END of the age, Jesus will send his angels to weed out ALL WHO DO EVIL and throw them into the furnace????
Why therefore, do we need this “empowering grace?” To do the will of God in our personal lives as he guides us as individuals. This is the essence of the Christian life.
      Peace ❤️🙏🏻

@@alisas3585 I hope my post was not taken to infer that I think it is okay to sin just because we have the grace of Christ's forgiveness. That was not my point whatsoever. Sin is the enemy, and we are to depart from it with all our being. The battle we Christians fight every day is one against sin. We must renounce sin. We do not accept it, condone it, approve of it, and we know that if we stumble...we are to ask forgiveness. But the Bible clearly says that we cannot be saved by keeping the law because every human except Christ has proven that cannot be done. By no works of our own can we enter the Kingdom...they are as filthy rags. This is the point where Grace becomes our only hope. As Jesus told the adulteress: Go and sin no more. As we walk in the spirit, that too is our charge, but we must never lose sight that it is Christ alone that saves us.

💯Unfortunately what Ray just shared with this guy would be labeled by far too many contemporary “Christians” as “unloving“.
I have been in a handful of these exact scenarios sharing the Gospel, and the people who were with me that claim to be Christians told me it was harsh and unloving to mention hell/judgement to people. A few of them also told me just to share “God‘s love“ instead.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9

Like the analogy of the bus driver. The right information means a great deal. Because He’s a just God, He can’t allow sin to go unpunished; because He’s a faithful God, He paid that penalty for all we’ve ever done! I’m most grateful for His willingness to take my punishment upon Himself. ❤️
