@@cindyjohnson9811 One day I had my little dog with me but not his harness. I did have a collar in the car. He was okay with me putting the collar on him and clipping his leash on but when I sat him down to walk and he felt the slight pull on his neck, lol, he went berserk. That little boy was biting at the leash, twisting his body around in ways I didn't know he could, and I hadn't even taken a step yet. I was completely shocked just how much he hated it. I never made that mistake again. I keep a harness in my car now. Lol. He taught me a valuable lesson.
When you commented that the second tea smelled like a lovely living room with a burning fireplace, I could just feel the room your were describing! You have the gift of helping us make our lives beautiful! Thank you, Nicolas!
My Dear Nicholas - You give inspiration to decorate and I love your sense of style. Your gift of design and appreciation for keeping the things of Historical value, giving them a new life in the 21st century. I am Canadian with parents of first generation from Scotland who came to Canada in 1918. Did I just give away my age? You bring back so many lovely ideas to incorporate the old with the new.

If you like a Smokey fragrant tea my favourite is the Fortnum and Mason Smokey Earl Grey loose tea. It is to die for, especially as we come into autumn. The smell and taste really makes me feel like I am in a little cottage with a roaring fire on a dark and bitter winters day.
I went to Fortnum and Mason in 2019 and fell in love ! I could spend a small fortune there ! My favorite tea is Earl Grey . You painted such a cosy picture I have to try it . ☕🇨🇦

I haven’t been out shopping for simply ages so it was such a treat to be taken along with you and Sophie into the wonderful shops of beautiful Edinburgh. The tea loaf also looks splendid and I can’t wait to try it for myself.

Thanks for taking us along to the shops. Here in Canada we are still limited for shopping, wearing masks and needing vaccine proof to enjoy restaurants. A taste of our former precovid lives is wonderful. And tea is always wonderful.
Edinburgh seems so beautiful, I loved the gardens and the streets you were walking. We need to appreciate the beauty in all the things that surround us
Great tour. I love Edinburgh. We lived there in the late 1990’s and I worked at Studio One in Stafford st and then Habitat, at its peak. So many memories. Such great shops. The tea cake looks lovely.
Autumn is my favorite season so shopping for Autumn things in Edinburgh was a treat! I am so surprised that you are able to bring your dog into the departments stores there!
That bedroom was gorgeous and the cream accent chair as well. I enjoyed the tour around Edinburgh, especially down the cobblestone street. The city of Edinburgh should put you on payroll as their tourism ambassador!
Production values are so high on these videos and our host works seamlessly with the lens. His deportment lifts each and every video he creates. Well done.
Hi Nicholas great to see you looking so well. Thank you for showing us such lovely things. Edinburgh looks to be a lovely historical city with beautiful buildings. 😘
You are an inspiration. Living well on less is an obsession of mine. I am an artist with little money, yet I live beautifully on what I have by employing creativity. It is possible to drink good wine, live in a lovely home, and enjoy the finer things of life simply by making good choices. Great wealth is not required for elegant living, and many rich people do not appreciate what is being handed to them daily by their servants. Most anyone with taste can live well, and your channel is a valuable resource for this enterprise. Thank you.
I love the green countryside of Edinburgh. Your walks with Sophie - an adorable little dog-through the old Town. I like very much Jeffries Interiors but for me, my favorite decorating is the classic English style as in your flat with your picture collection and your flowers... Bye bye. See you soon in your next episode.
Edinburgh is so charming. As a floral designer I use( as much as I can ) local fresh flowers. With the dried floral trend it’s important to source material that is natural without dyes and preservatives. These are not good for the earth or people. Thank you for the shopping day. The almond tea cake looks amazing.
You looked especially handsome in this video; glowing and flawless skin, really radiant. Sophie’s little face as you were pouring the tea was so sweet, she really is a beautiful little girl. I had to laugh when I saw her in John Lewis with you; if I took my boy in there I’m afraid he wouldn’t be so well mannered as Sophie, in fact I think he would ‘water’ the dried flowers Nicolas 😝💕
I simmered some apple and spice tea for several hours the other night (by mistake). Thought what to do with the strong reduction in the bottom of the pot, and put it on my toast with brown sugar and butter. Astoundingly delicious! The spices had mellowed into the smoothest flavour.
Hi Nicholas. Thank you for sharing your shopping trip in Edinburgh with us. My grandmother's parents immigrated to the US from Edinburgh and I felt a kinship with them as you strolled through what I imagine the city looked like when they walked those streets! What a beautiful city! I've always wanted to visit Edinburgh to better know my grandmother and now I'm determined to make that dream come true!
the stores were very nice but the little walk in the beginning and the cobblestone street were breathtaking. And I absolutely adored the bedroom in that store. Could definitely see that sort of vibe in your new home. Those lovely tall windows are such a charming focal point.

I love what youve done with your new flat. Made yourself comfy so fast! I love Edinburgh too but never lived there-only visited. Thank you for such a serene autumnal experience.
This was so beautiful and relaxing as always. I’m shocked you are allowed to take your cutie patootie everywhere with you that’s amazing. And no one is wearing masks. The shops remind me of Turin Italy and when you get to those charming cobble stone streets, they are the kinds of places that would make me want to paint again. Iv been on a hiatus. I could watch hours of these tours. Its what most of us I could say are not surrounded by, and seeing such beautiful places is inspiring. When I saw those dark curtains in the wallpaper room at was it Jeffries? I thought they would be perfect for me! its 6 years I was looking for curtains and nothing caught my eye til now. That orange couch was amazing. If they had it in a royal purple with teal peacock cushions.... oh boy. That was a lovely cake loaf and I can only dream of the almond tea in it. I am obsessed with almond scent. Sicilian almonds are by the the best I have ever tried in my life along with pistachios. They make everything with them. The best house cleaner I have ever used is almond scented as well and Italian. If they made a perfume from it I would be all over it. There is nothing in North America like it. I want to try this recipe!

Greetings from old Yankee New England where those of us of British/Scottish/Irish and French descent are still close to the UK in spirit! Think if I reincarnate I want to land in beautiful charming, romantic Edinburgh! Dear Nicolas, I am not sure anything has really changed (it might be the lighting or just me) but I really like this haircolour on you. Lovely video, as always.
Re the dried flowers/plants: when you do a tutorial can you please do something without pampas grass? It's extremely overplayed/way too trendy and is honestly very ugly. I think dried flowers/plants are difficult to do without looking like dust magnets so I am really intrigued to see how you do something with them. Low key jealous that Sophie can accompany you into all those stores - I can't even get away with that in Los Angeles!

My Scottish forebears, the McGaffeys came from Aberdeen and landed in Portsmouth, NH in 1721, many fought in the Revolutionary War! The shops in Edinburgh look magnificent! Thanks again for sharing! Cheers~
What a lovely comment - thanks for sharing that with us!
@@NicolasFairford YW, though on another video about the UK, the British person on that said you don't say "You're welcome" in the UK? lol
Gentleness is how I feel whenever watching and listening to you. Most assuredly a new subscriber here.
Edinburgh is next on my bucket list - 20+ visits to England and never made it to Scotland. Amazing that you're permitted to bring your dog in shops! Always enjoy your content.
How charming. The quiet cobblestone shopping streets with pretty Sophie by your side. I too love dried flowers and the ones you showed us (I’m in love with the tall pink feathery ones). I adore rain, so I can just imagine how those streets will look then......before coming home, stopping for a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Aaah.....,your hideaway......(Michelle in Beverly Hills, California)
I came home from work all wound up and irritated long day but watching your videos makes me feel so calm you have a calming nature about you.
What a beautiful video 😊. I so enjoy the walk and shops. New ideas and a great cake ! Your taste is impeccable Nicolas. Thank you for a wonderful treat around Edinburgh. Also did I notice no more red in your kitchen ? Have a wonderful week. 💕
Thanks so much!
Dear Nicholas: You have done it again! All things beautiful. Thank you and God Bless. 🌞💫🌙🌻🌼
I love Edinburgh. One of my fav cities.
Thank you so much for these videos! So enjoy watching all of them. You're a gift!
My pleasure!
I had always imagined Edinburgh as rather dreary and gloomy. This was delightful and very glamorous. Thank you.
Glad I changed your mind!
Any where and everywhere you take us with you my dear Nicolas, it is a gift! And I for one, am very thankful!🙏🏼. I send you and beautiful Sophie, lots of hugs!!!💞🤗🤗💖
Fall is my favourite season and I enjoy all things autumnal. Loved he stroll down the cobblestone street-so pretty. Thanks🙏🏻❤️🍁🍁
the tea cake looked delicious and i loved the little street with the beautiful stone and plants growing all around 😁
What a beautiful store - Jeffries Interiors. I love shopping in places like this. I always end up buying something. Thank you for showing us around Nicholas.
My pleasure!
Love the tea shop and almond tea cake Nicolas. Thanks for the autumnal tour of Edinburg. Looking forward to seeing some country houses with fall foliage 🍂
So enjoyed this. Love the burnt orange couch. The lines and fabric. 💕 love how Sophie can come along with you.😊 Edinburgh seems so beautiful
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love to see the shops and displays. I, too, love tea and the almond tea sounds delightful. Love your style.
Thank you!
SOOOO awesome you can take Sophie in the stores with you, she is so precious!!!!
Oh my dear Nicolas I could do serious damage to my credit cards in those shops! Hehe! Thank you for taking us shopping with you! Now that harvest time is over, time to get new pillows. Thank you for the inspirations. You are sooo lucky the shops allow you to take Sophie in with you. Oh that cake is yummy!😋 l love how you stopped to smell the flowers on your walk. Hugs from your friend on the farm🤗 Have a blessed week!
Was shocked firstly that stores were allowing pooches in….. & the gorgeous pieces you were showing us, thank you for your time Nicolas 🇬🇧xx
Love that burnt orange sofa. Mid-century is more my thing (it's better suited to the kind of homes we build out here in the antipodes) and that would look right at home in my living room.
Looking at how multi-talented you are makes me wonder what the heck am I doing with my life... I'm a new subscriber and I must say your videos are a therapy for the mind, heart and soul. So glad I discovered you. ❤
I'm sure you are doing just fine - be good to yourself x x
@@NicolasFairford Thank you for the response. Loads of love from Dubai 😊.
Your adorable fur baby would be more comfortable in a harness. Less neck stress.
Greetings from Brighton
DAM, THAT BEDROOM IS SO DREAMY AND CREAMY.. LOVE THE SOFT TONES
I do too x
I really have been checking out blogs almost a year. I enjoyed tea time. & love the way U had decorated your former place. Very warm & inviting. Thank U so much for the Historical tours of Hotels, your childhood place, & ETC. I do indeed share the passion Gourmet' fine dining experience to decorating elegant comfortable home. God bless U!
Dear Nicolas, I am not sure anything has really changed (it might be the lighting or just me) but I really like this haircolour on you. Lovely video, as always.
Thank you so much - I put a toner over my highlights x
You and Sofie are such a Treasure to us all.
Thank you .
It’s so wonderful that all these shops allow dogs in! Great to see your sweet puppers being able to join you for the adventures!
Watching this was a pleasure 🍂🧁✨ thank you Nicolas
Re the dried flowers/plants: when you do a tutorial can you please do something without pampas grass? It's extremely overplayed/way too trendy and is honestly very ugly. I think dried flowers/plants are difficult to do without looking like dust magnets so I am really intrigued to see how you do something with them.
Low key jealous that Sophie can accompany you into all those stores - I can't even get away with that in Los Angeles!
Completely agree. Pampas grass is okay on a driveway...
I get what you mean!
Hello, Nicolas! So enjoyed this video! Thank you for inviting us to shop with you, and for the great decorating tips. I just moved into a new home, and I’m excited to use some of the tips at my new place. Definitely will be trying the tea cake recipe this weekend - it looks so good. Thank you, again, for all you do. I love it when I get the notification to see your new content - it’s the best part of my Fridays! Have a wonderful weekend. Take care
Dear Nicolas, thank you for this insight into autumn trends in home styling, plus a delicious cake recipe. Great work and please do not stop. I cannot wait to follow you next time on the flotter arrangements, other recipes, interviews, home decore, city or park walks. You truly are an Inspiration!
I really enjoyed every bit of this entertainment. I think I'll get a few new pillows tomorrow and spruce up my sofa. Thank you for a fun show!!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Cake look so good. And walking where those houses were so cute. Really liked your look. Sophie looked adorable.

Awwwwhhh! You stopped to smell the flowers!! 😊😊😊😊That cobblestone path was charming and fabulous, like a fantastic dream! I can see why you love where you are living.
I may not be there, but you've inspired me to enjoy my daily walks through my quaint rural town.
Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico!
