    Hey y'all! Got a chance to check out some of the Fallout commanders that were spoiled earlier this week and boy is there some gems here. Mr. House is the dice rolling commander we've all been waiting for. With the Win Con and temporary ramp built into the commander this is a perfect space for dice rolling decks to play in and I'm loving the flavor here as well. Hope you all enjoy :)

    Night shift of the living dead is also a good card since it generates tokens whenever you roll a 6 and lets you manipulate dice rolls

    Mr. House is actually a treasure commander as much as a dice rolling commander. 4 treasures per turn cycle translate to 1d6 dice roll per treasure. Many cards can produce a consistent income of treasures. On average, 1d20 produces .85 3/3 creatures and .75 treasures. On average 1d6 produces .5 3/3 creatures and .20 treasures. If the win condition is to overrun the table with 3/3s, 2D6 is equal value to 1d20 (taking into account the odds that the D20 probably produces a treasure which produces 1D6). Therefore, cards that produce consistent treasure production or spikes of treasures efficiently should be considered for the deck. The most efficient ways to untap the commander, such a drumbellower, unwinding clock, sting, and clock of omens also have a home in the deck, and are probably the key to this commander hitting that critical mass to close out games.

    To note, ignored dice rolls don’t trigger any abilities such as the most likely 3 from Iron Mastiff unless they changed any rulings since last I checked.
    I do find it interesting that it’s pretty much how I expected a null green or blue dice roll deck to be built, but I am surprised you didn’t include any of the attraction makers that you have in black or any of the metal dragons (or just copper..). I have a janky 5c one myself, albeit being terrible at deck building.

    • @levisdeckbox
      @levisdeckbox  10 месяцев назад +4

      Yeah I just never took the time to learn the attraction stuff, definitely throw them in if that’s your thing though haha. As for the dragons I usually build pretty budget decks so I don’t include them in my lists but if you’ve got them, definitely use them they are fantastic!

    Nice vid! Very clear and the deck is quite budget friendly which I always like.
    Also liked the idea of Mr. House and going heavy on D20 rolls for easier activation of the first ability. Cards I also considered would include Hoarding Ogre for a D20 roll + possibility of creating up to three treasure tokens and if you've got an extra $20-30 you could probably add something like Anointed Procession for double tokens 🤔

    • @levisdeckbox

      Oh definitely agree with the token doublers (and tripler with the new god from ixalan lol) I usually leave those upgrades up to the viewer and stick to the more budget side of building

    I have brewed a similar deck to this, however it does run attractions which gives you a d6 die roll each turn at minimum
    I would run Delina Wild Mage in this deck with the fact she synergizes too well with Wyll, Since Wyll is literally a Pixie guide in red and that can get out of hand with an undetermined infinite loop that you can choose when to stop it. On top of that, you get to also build up an army of robots and treasure with this. With Delina, as long as you keep rolling a 15 or higher, the loop continues

    Considering this is one of the commanders, you KNOW they're gonna add some at least decent cards with dice rolling on them. If Warhammer, LotR, and Doctor Who sets are anything to base expectations on this commander and his deck might single handedly make dice rolling a viable game plan.

    • @levisdeckbox
      @levisdeckbox  10 месяцев назад +2

      Oh 100%, I’m sure there will be at least a few dice roll cards from this set which will make this deck that much better. Stoked to see the rest of the deck

    Tried playing this with attractions and found them to be rather slow compared to just having more spells that give you dice rolls on demand, especially with d20s. I also found that running the white token doublers is excellent for mitigating effects that let you roll extra dice, but make you ignore the lowest roll.

    okay so this is going to be like the opposite of zirda but you could always play suppression field once you've gotten plenty of treasures and then you're able to pay 2 more treasure to activate the ability. plus that applies to everyone so it works even better for you. i mean at the very least i'll be playing with it to add some more spice to my deck and make people think "Huh"

    • @levisdeckbox

    • @TriangleChloros
      @TriangleChloros 10 месяцев назад +1

      Sadly no. You roll three dice, but you ignore *two*. It's to do with how replacement effects work. Basically, you apply one of them first to replace 'roll 1' with 'roll 2 drop 1', then you apply the other one to replace the roll 2 with 'roll 3 drop 1'. But you only replaced the 'roll 2', so once you've finished the 'roll 3 drop 1', you still have to do the second 'drop 1' using your two remaining dice. So it's 'roll 3, drop 1, drop 1 again', which is identical to 'roll 3 drop the lowest 2'.

      @@levisdeckbox The card generates the attraction - a card like "Lifetime" Pass Holder, which does this on death.
      The Attraction is drawn from the top of an Attractions deck (10 card minimun singleton separate deck from the main) and placed directly into play. It counts as an Artifact. On the card are six dots, at least two of which are lit. On your upkeep, roll a D6. If the result is one of the lit numbers, the Visit ability triggers.
      They're a bit complicated, but basically stick one and you get a D6 roll every turn.
