    Wait, what am I missing here? The match after this one is against Accrington Stanley. Why do we need to rotate tonight? Shouldn't we play our strongest lineup tonight, get as good a result as we can to reduce the pressure on the return leg, THEN we play the second string on the weekend?

  • @guzzmo
    @guzzmo 21 час назад +24

    You really think VVD and Salah are not starting EFL semi away when we have Accrington next, Loz? I think you will be a little bit surprised then - expect quite strong lineup, then mass rotation during weekend. Get a strong result, then rotate at home. I think there will be max 3 changes from Utd lineup.

      spot on, get a strong result tonight, then let the fringe players have a go on Sat so we're fully rested for the big one on Tuesday. Only changes I could see tonight are Jota in for Diaz, and Tsimikas in for Robbo. Everything else stays as is IMO

    Just want to say how valuable your voice is in the community Laurence, been a lifelong red and think you bring the balance between humility and quiet confidence that every true liverpool fan can relate to. No reactionary takes for clicks, no “player fc”™ and no desire to do any more than speak your truth and support your club to the fullest.
    You and David Lynch are top class, look forward to (hopefully) a very positive match reaction tomorrow!

    Szobo played fantastic in the game against Spurs. He's probably missing today due to illness, which is also why it's necessary to send the strongest team possible. No reason to rotate, you can do it vs. Accrington.

    We need to play the strongest line up possible tonight against Spuds, then give them a rest and play a mix of youths and bench warmers against Accrington.
    For Spuds: Alisson/Kelleher, Trent/Bradley, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Szobo, Macca, Gravenberch, Salah, Jota/Diaz, Gakpo
    For Accrington: Kelleher/Jaros, Bradley/Trent, Quanseh, Endo, Tsimikas, Jones, Nyoni, McConnell, Elliott, Chiesa, Nunez

Bradley is not even fit enough to play full games yet. Trent has it in him to be decent defensively. He had a terrible game on Sunday and am sure he's as disappointed as we are. Overarching feeling: BLESSED to be watching this team week-in, week-out and enjoying their football so much. Had no clue what Slot coming in would entail, but honestly I couldn't be happier.
    Contract talks have no doubt increased the chatter around us, but at the end of this month those will be sorted and we can move on with our push for trophies. I'm not so much thinking about the Spurs/Accrington games - but more so the Nottingham Forest game. If we perform at our best I think we'll thrash them, and because of the result early in the season, I feel like it will be a HUGE confidence boost to set us up well for the rest of the season. Still nervous, but beyond excited for that game.
    Another thing I'm personally excited for: CHIESA
    I'm just so fond of this guy and his attitude toward being a Liverpool player. I desperately want him to find his place in this team and I love watching him play. There's no doubt that he's a huge talent! Here's hoping he gets going with a goal in the FA Cup this weekend.

    This game now has more pressure than it should, because of the last result. For the fanbase it will wipe out all the goodwill we have earned so far.
    A win will just be status quo, and a loss will be a disaster, but that's football.
    Need to just get a win against Forest out of the way so fans can calm down and we realise the points we should have gotten from those games in hand. People were assuming 6/6 and so set themselves up for disappointment. Again, tale as old as time, especially after playing against City for years.
    Edit: Heck, just look at Arsenal fans. They went from utter doldrums having thrown away points, to the hope train being well and truly back on with us dropping 2, to being completely back to depression with their EFL result. Football fans have the attention span of a few days, and the reactions follow that span. Unreasonably swingy in both directions.
