Now theyre singing his praises, Madrid fans are the most 2faced fans in the world. Leaving Liverpool would be a huge mistake for Trent. Madrid simply are not special as Arne Slot proved with that 2-0 win. My take on this is simple: Trent looks down on his hometown and by extension, he looks down on himself. He just doesn't realizes this and that's all there is to it. Liverpool can become the richest and best club in the world, but to him, it'll still be too small for him. He is not seeing it in footballing terms. He has lost his way imho and his brain is clouded by all his wants and how he sees himself (in terms of personal endorsements/more money and the attention he craves for). It is all him him him and his celebrity status right now and not the evolution of his game nor the club. He needs to develop intellectually tbh and not be so easily taken in by the supposed glitz and glamour, I really did think he was smarter than that. I was wrong.

    1. Below average career
4 years in Madrid and then leave

Here's a hot take. Trent's best days are behind him and anyone foolish enough to sign a huge contract with him will not get their money's worth. I really hope he goes to Real so we can get his replacement now. Let's not get stuck with a player on ridiculous wages and in decline for the next 5 years. That's United's expertise. I think we can all understand why this prediction will never be taken seriously from the main stream. If you just look at the numbers there is nothing wrong with Trent. But mark my words, whether he signs a new contract with Liverpool or Real Madrid, he's going to have stinker after stinker seasons for the rest of his career. He was thrown into the first team too young and played too many games. His best days are behind him and Liverpool should just accept their losses and move on asap. We will look like the winner at the end of all this once he's nothing more than a "Rashford" for Real Madrid.

    Militao 21 yo from porto
    Camavinga 18 from rennais

Madrid has lost Cristiano and had Vinicius starting under a care taker manager in solari and the same happened when hazard failed
He had one of the worst runs for a winger for 3 seasons and then he popped off, Rodrygo was our starting right winger when bale was put aside
For the standards Madrid hold, it was indeed risking their glory having literal prospects starting for them in all competitions during the 18-21 period.
Madrid bet all their money on Jude WITHOUT signing a Striker when Benzema left. I bet not one soul knew Jude had a 23 goal season in him.
That’s the point I am trying to say, they don’t sign galacticos anymore, they believe in signings high profile youth prospects who may or may not achieve what’s expected from them.

Something, or someone has turned him into a big head, I think Klopp going is a factor as well, he'd have sorted this.

Trent could possibly be a star in Real Madrid if he only needed to make long passes in a game. After some goals conceded in the first match he would got buried by the papers. He has that foot but if he doesn't even try getting in the way of United scoring the goals on Anfield then he shouldn't be defended by supporters. Maybe you're no great defender but try at least get in the way, he is not willing or maybe able to do that and that's not enough.

what is the first job of a RB?
And what if you couldn’t fulfil your main role at work at the standard required, would your employer pay you more because you do other things amazingly?
Is TAA not subject to performance development in an area he struggles at to level with other things he’s so good at?
How can you become better at another firm doing the same job if you didn’t improve your obvious deficiencies at your previous employer?
Is criticism not allowed if you are not doing your primary role well..how can you fix a problem you cannot admit you have?
As much as we all want to improve in life and get the best we can..doesn’t an evaluation of previous and potential future goals need to be addressed?
Finally, we all should be respected for our life choices and what we want to do, but should we forget where we came from and who helped us along the way and not give thanks and respect to those people or establishments when we move on, as we didn’t just do it on our own?
TAA can do what he likes, but this idea he will be better elsewhere because of the destination, and not addressing the shortcomings and expecting those issues to improve just like that is a naive way of doing things, no matter how amazing you think you or someone else is, we criticise our loved ones to do the utmost best, because we care and love them, Liverpool or any other club do not always get things right, but if thy have helped raise you up to a level the world notices, repay them back with respect and thanks, no matter your self worth, as you never know when you will need them again!!

Can 450 million Los Blancos fans be wrong 🧐? Less cheekily, I think the point he's gesturing towards (whether he realizes it or not) is that Real Madrid have a consent manufacturing machine at the Bernabeu. A machine their supporters, journalists, and casual lookers on wittingly or unwittingly amplify to the point that they can make tradition look like innovation, classlessness look like class and presumably for Trent, fullbacks into Ballon D'or winners.
I think the response to the Vinicius "snub" is illustrative of the fact they were caught off-guard that their machine did not manufacture the award for Vini - the incredulity and churlishness of the response, briefly lifted the veil of the Madrid mystique.
While this is more than about the award, it's notable that in the past 30+ years there have been exactly 3 Ballon D'or winners in the Premier League, Michael Owen, Christiano Ronaldo, and Rodri - how is it that the supposed "best league in the world," have only produced 3 (okay, technically 7 all time, but 4 of those are ManU players who have a much smaller, slightly broken machine at Old Trafford) such winners in that time, while Barcelona + Madrid have 24 (wins, all time). I cannot accept that they just simply have them or recruit them. Those clubs manufacture them, not as players as you rightly suggested (they come usually as finished articles), but as brands. Trent perhaps wants to be a brand, not just a player.
Maybe he's seen what's happened to Salah (can't even escape the Hazard comparisons), and decided he wants another path, one where's he's publicly evaluated on what he can do, and not what his position on the team sheet says he's supposed to do.

  • @soundsurg3on
    @soundsurg3on 23 часа назад

To clarify my earlier point as you (understandably) misunderstood, I found the original video "cringe" in parts for various reasons.
    1. Wrongly stating that Liverpool (of all teams) are resistant to change. You rightly point out that Trent is only known for what he does now BECAUSE of the platform given to him by Klopp. It feels like a disservice to us to make it sound like we're holding him back some how.
    2. As you rightly state, Trent has the ability and platform to fulfil his potential to as great a degree with us. If anything, he may even be outshone by the likes of Mbappe, Vini and Jude to a greater degree than he would here.
    3. He is so so so wrong about critique in Spain to the point he had me questioning whether he knows about how bad it can get. As much as they celebrate maverick talents there, they don't always vibe with others - look at Gareth Bale. He wasn't always loved by the media and certain sections of the fanbase. There were fans jumping on Mbappe at the start of this season until he got a bit more consistency of late. No one has protected Trent more than our fanbase. When the likes of Gary Neville, Rio, Souness, Keane, Martin Samuel etc were ripping into Trent for his poor defending, we came to bat for him, even sometimes to a fault. He simply won't get that same level of "protection" from criticism at Real Madrid if he makes errors.
Our main issue with him over the weekend wasn't merely because he played badly but because at times it felt like he didn't care. The walking back to position instead of sprinting back - he wasn't alone but he was the worst. Those things just wouldn't be tolerated by Madristas or Marca.
I had other points of contention but I've already written too much. Overall I just felt like he overstated how rigid we are as it pertains to football culture and change and the kinds of players we appreciate.
Appreciate your takes and of course your guy has a right to his opinions. I just vehemently disagree with the overall sentiments espoused.

I have to say, I find his rather earnest, breathy, delivery rather tedious. It's so "look at me, I am saying something that's both new and important". I'd like to see Trent stay, but if he goes I'll get over it.

that guy was baiting for views and Laurence got the bait. He paints the picture like we are talking about Hodgson's Liverpool and Zidane's Real.
He tries to convince us that more people watch la liga than premier league.
Also and this is a PERSONAL point of view, Real are starting to have a decline, Ancelloti will leave and the egos for their players will take center stage

Your opinions about what Real Madrid is or isn't comes from an emotional and biased place which is completely fine but you package it in a matter of fact way.
    1) Vinicius and Rodrygo were nowhere near European level football when they joined us. Not to mention we have guys like Fede and Carvajal who we've developed to be the best in the world. Did these guys have innate talent that we recognised? Yes for sure but it's not like Trent was some talentless punk in the academy before Klopp found him.
    2) When it comes to class , what is your definition of class? Nothing we've done as a club is outside of what's standard.
In fact I'd say the way we treat our legends and older players is much better than a lot of European teams.

Real Madrid is like one of those big business monopolies who get success and hype because of their past successes and hypes and it's a self feeding cycle perpetuated by sheeple fans and pundits. Great players want to go there and keep feeding into that cycle. If they stop buying into the hype, Real Madrid would still be a great club but not a "club which you can't turn down" or "when Real Madrid knocks on a door...". Bale and Hazard got bored af there and even Bale isn't considered legend there and Bale and Hazard would still earn a lot if they kept playing for a long time on high wages and Bale would have transferred to a non Spurs club and earn like Ozil. So, it's not like Madrid makes huge net positive difference to all the players.
Bellingham said in Madrid vs Liverpool prematch press conference that "you don't turn down Real Madrid" and he mist have hyped Madrid to Trent which wasn't even in his mind even a season ago. Yes, in case you didn't notice, I don't like monopolies in society especially when it is earned through outside sheeple and government help (Franco government in case of Madrid). But it is what it is, and one should know how to go about it or fight it.

Your mate’s view of Real Madrid as the pinnacle for Trent Alexander-Arnold is overly romanticized and detached from reality. Positioning Real as *the* global platform in 2025 is misguided-Liverpool and the Premier League arguably have greater global reach and influence, especially given the Premier League's dominance globally.
Real Madrid’s domestic achievements are irrelevant to us unless they face Liverpool in European competitions. Performances against weaker La Liga opposition hold little weight. Furthermore, Trent’s defensive limitations and lack of fit in midfield make it unlikely he’d break into England’s team under Tuchel unless drastic tactical adjustments are made. So, even at Madrid, his global exposure could be limited.
The idea of redefining the right-back role to one where defending is secondary-essentially making Trent a superstar while others cover for his weaknesses-is unrealistic. Football isn’t heading in that direction and Ancelloti and even Alonso won’t go there’, it’s madness.
There’s no competition exclusive to Real Madrid that other global clubs like Liverpool, United, City, or Arsenal can’t compete for. While Real leverage their history well, their methods-such as tapping up players and exploiting free transfers with lucrative sign-on bonuses-are unethical and unsustainable. Their behavior deserves scrutiny as they constantly employ these tactics.
Ultimately, Liverpool will adapt without Trent but if he stays…. In some games, Bradley offers more balance, while Trent’s passing and playmaking shine in other games with weaker attack down our right.
If he leaves for Madrid, so be it-I hope he lives up to his own expectations, and can count his money without the adulation of the fans and destroying his legacy as a Liverpool and Premiership superstar.
