- Dee played on a classical guitar. Randy Rhoads played the piece on an acoustic guitar with a few overdubs (in the version I know). So please don't wonder if in my version for a single guitar a few notes are lacking.

For some weird and maybe even esoteric reasons, I always had the impression that Randy was a being sent by some kind of higher power (pick the one you want) to met Ozzy, put his career back on track and then die once his mission was accomplished.

I just love his style of play, hes the only one that can do it right, the tribute album may be the best as far as the randy albums go.

Rhandy Rhodes DEE is such an incredible piece of music, IMO is one of if not the best of that era. Classical guitar is a whole other ballgame. This bloke did an amazing job!👍

This is my favorite piece to play.You did a perfect job with the flow of the song.This piece is somewhat complicated to feel through but you were perfect.This is probably the best cover I've seen of Dee.10/10

yes, I've been playing it for years and can't play it as good as him. The hardest part is to play at the correct speed, which he still did not play some parts quite as fast as Randy. But an amazing performance!
@@americafirst5760 that’s because there is no timing in this. It’s up and down like eruption from Eddie. It’s that way for a reason because it’s meant to be played with the feel and emotion you have at that time. Randy would not want us to copy his imperfect (but on purpose) timing. He would want us to play it how we are feeling. That’s how you pay tribute to a legend, imo.

well played, sir. Just as classical artists were never popular until they died, I think this will be the piece that Randy is remembered for. It's a beautiful piece, and you play it very well.

Wonderfully played. Dee is a fine guitar miniature that really shows Randy's harmonic and melodic sensibility. It may be a brief piece but every note counts and adds color to the whole. I think Randy would have written more pieces for classical guitar. It is this thought that makes me lament his loss all the more.

It's so nice to see this played by somebody who gets classical and understands not to rush it. Most videos of guitarists playing songs on RUclips are rush jobs, and it's nice to see someone not rushing a classical piece.
I love how the pull off part sounds like the notes are spilling out onto the floor like pearls from a broken necklace.
Even though he was gone 13 years before I showed up, Randy was the one that blew my mind at age 12 and compelled me to start playing guitar. Here, at 22, he is still my favorite. The notes, patterns, and phrasing he composed so long ago make my heart skip a beat to this day. Thank you for this video, It was exquisite.

Indeed. I've played this song many times but,have never been able to play it with the correct timing. itis one heck of a hard song to play with the proper timing. Very good job !!

What kind of a mind derives such a melody? There may be faster, there may be louder, there may even be better guitarists. Randy was, in my opinion, the PERFECT guitarist. And Herr Schenk paid a fitting tribute.

Excellent rendition. As others have said, the best I have seen so far. This piece was written for Randy's mother Delores "Dee" Rhoads , who ran a music school in Santa Monica California, and inspired her son to learn Classical guitar.

The first song I learned to play with my fingers. As a metal head I learned this on an electric guitar back in the early 90s😂. I’ve always gravitated to this, and while I love to listen to the hard stuff, I’m a fingerstyle acoustic player today.

It's almost perfect. You can tell he feels every note. I've never heard a better version besides the original...And Jurgen messes up a touch too. I love playing it so much I had to expand on it. Truly one of the finest pieces of music ever written. I guess I'm the only one that plays it on an electric...Knopfler freak. Thanks for putting this up, it's beautiful.
