For some weird and maybe even esoteric reasons, I always had the impression that Randy was a being sent by some kind of higher power (pick the one you want) to met Ozzy, put his career back on track and then die once his mission was accomplished.
Rhandy Rhodes DEE is such an incredible piece of music, IMO is one of if not the best of that era. Classical guitar is a whole other ballgame. This bloke did an amazing job!👍
You know, the best thing I see about "Dee" cover videos, is that no one calls it an Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard of Ozz track, but a Randy Rhoads beautiful tune... Best thing ever...
This is my favorite piece to play. You did a perfect job with the flow of the song. This piece is somewhat complicated to feel through but you were perfect. This is probably the best cover I've seen of Dee.10/10
yes, I've been playing it for years and can't play it as good as him. The hardest part is to play at the correct speed, which he still did not play some parts quite as fast as Randy. But an amazing performance!
@@americafirst5760 that’s because there is no timing in this. It’s up and down like eruption from Eddie. It’s that way for a reason because it’s meant to be played with the feel and emotion you have at that time. Randy would not want us to copy his imperfect (but on purpose) timing. He would want us to play it how we are feeling. That’s how you pay tribute to a legend, imo.
for the feel ,time and play...this is`by far , the best version of dee...randy was proud of this...these youtubers and millennials will never know how to do it...they will never even come close....this is the best by far....one real teacher plays another....
well played, sir. Just as classical artists were never popular until they died, I think this will be the piece that Randy is remembered for. It's a beautiful piece, and you play it very well.
I have seen many cover this. Most miss the nuances, but you have beautifully captured every note showing how magnificent this composition truly is. Thank you for sharing this with us all
Danke, Herr Schenk - Rhoads' all too brief piece, dedicated as it was, to his Mother. Beautiful rendition - in fact, one of the best covers I've seen & heard; a fitting tribute to one of the finest guitarists this world ever produced, & a personal favourite 🙂
It's so nice to see this played by somebody who gets classical and understands not to rush it. Most videos of guitarists playing songs on RUclips are rush jobs, and it's nice to see someone not rushing a classical piece.
It's almost perfect. You can tell he feels every note. I've never heard a better version besides the original...And Jurgen messes up a touch too. I love playing it so much I had to expand on it. Truly one of the finest pieces of music ever written. I guess I'm the only one that plays it on an electric...Knopfler freak. Thanks for putting this up, it's beautiful.
Even though he was gone 13 years before I showed up, Randy was the one that blew my mind at age 12 and compelled me to start playing guitar. Here, at 22, he is still my favorite. The notes, patterns, and phrasing he composed so long ago make my heart skip a beat to this day. Thank you for this video, It was exquisite.
Dude!!! I've been playing this song for 10 years and have the come the closest- but after listening to Jurgen Schenk, I am a beginner. Dude Randy would definitely be proud!!
Wonderfully played. Dee is a fine guitar miniature that really shows Randy's harmonic and melodic sensibility. It may be a brief piece but every note counts and adds color to the whole. I think Randy would have written more pieces for classical guitar. It is this thought that makes me lament his loss all the more. BRAVO JURGEN SCHENK! And thank you.
Excellent rendition. As others have said, the best I have seen so far. This piece was written for Randy's mother Delores "Dee" Rhoads , who ran a music school in Santa Monica California, and inspired her son to learn Classical guitar.
Thats the best cover of that amazing piece that I have ever heard Bravo!!!!!!!!! Just reminds us of what a phenomenal player Randy was. His versatility and technique still is the gold standard after all of these years.
Hi Jurgi! Very atmospheric version of this piece, it's so beautiful I wish it would be 3x as long. But I can always hit the replay button!:) Viele Grusse, Jasper
Herr Schenk, Listening to your solo of "Dee" was like hearing God speak to me.. I have been a drummer for 31 years, and I have played with many of musicians. I have never heard someone master the guitar better than you..
Very nice work sir. Its nice to hear that to perfection all the way through. In college, i had a room mate that would spend hours butchering that awesome piece of music. I now love that tune again!! thanks!!
This is the song that exposed me to classical guitar. And this is a beautiful rendition of that song. It's clean. It's beautiful and I bet Randy Rhoads would love it. Thank you for playing it!
What kind of a mind derives such a melody? There may be faster, there may be louder, there may even be better guitarists. Randy was, in my opinion, the PERFECT guitarist. And Herr Schenk paid a fitting tribute.
Of all performs of this song i've watched on You Tube, you really played with your soul. Just closed your eyes and played. Randy would love it, I believe.
Bastard, you brought tears to my eyes! I love that you didn't play it like the other robots on RUclips. This song is useless without feeling but you did it justice. Well done.
Indeed. I've played this song many times but, have never been able to play it with the correct timing. itis one heck of a hard song to play with the proper timing. Very good job !!
When I hear this piece, I think of the potential of what could/should have been. I mean, to arrange such a beautiful piece ---- one can tell that he had a lot to offer the world which will never be heard..
Short & sweet, like the life of the man who wrote it 😥
For some weird and maybe even esoteric reasons, I always had the impression that Randy was a being sent by some kind of higher power (pick the one you want) to met Ozzy, put his career back on track and then die once his mission was accomplished.
@@golfgrabu I can see your point. He was too good for the world.
Precioso
@@golfgrabu Wow makes sense & I wouldn't put it past the creator!
Perfect explanation. Wild to think he is in most peoples top 10 and he had such a short time. Just goes to show how legit the man was
So beautiful, it almost hurts to hear in it's entirety. Knowing Randy composed it for his mother.
Does anyone else listen to the randy rhoads tribute album over and over? like if you do!
I just love his style of play, hes the only one that can do it right, the tribute album may be the best as far as the randy albums go.
Logan Shelton all day everyday!
Logan Shelton yes,I really wanted to go see him before he passed.he was the greatest...very missed!
Logan Shelton its in my car stereo now, I listened to it yesterday and probly will today.

Nobody can ever do it like Mr. Randy, but my good sir, you did not disrespect the song by any means.! Great Job.
id agree to disagree
i can actually play it better

I play guitar and I can tell you that was a great performance of that very difficult song to play . Well done sir
Amazing when you think about what he could have done. Connecting classical music with metal can connect people on so many levels.
This is, by far, the best cover of "Dee" I've seen on RUclips

Beautifully played, a perfect balance of note precision and sensitivity
I love how the pull off part sounds like the notes are spilling out onto the floor like pearls from a broken necklace.
Absolutely Perfect. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Great Job!

And after a year or two, still the best cover I've heard.
