He spoke of the "message, idea, lesson, intent or moral" a books have and how he started writing era 2 as a fun adventure and less as a serious story and then he said that the point of this book mostly is to show the Cosmere, he said "the gloves are off" so I think what he was trying to say is that even though this story is not as profound as Stormlight he wanted to make this book the turning point in the Cosmere were the background universal secret story is no more background. I think thats good but I personally don't like it as much because I mostly prefer Stormlight over his other works and having to read this saga to understand events for example happening in stormlight 6 might be a little tedious.
@@guiyerod444 That's a good point, I don't think that this will be a required reading for Stormlight 6 if that is the only series you want to read but at some point if you want to make an interconnected series you have to dedicate some time in the larger universe. 53:00 Brandon jokingly talking about Dalinar and Jasnah meeting Harmony. Why am I feeling this might end up one of those crazy WoBs that eventually comes true?
I was thinking the same thing! Odium winning the Contest of Champions and fused-Dalinar having SLA6 interludes of him on Scadrial hunting Ghostbloods for their meddling
I didn’t know where else to post this comment, so here I go. I am re-reading mistborn series (spoiler alert…stop here!) and I have a big problem/question that maybe anyone could clear up. I’m at “Shadows of Self” the crazy Kondra antagonist is constantly pushed from the prospective of “how are we going to fight/kill this un-killable thing. But this makes no sense. Quite easily actually. 1) engage and ram multiple hemolergic spikes into his/her body, bam, Harmony instantly takes control. Easy to do actually as you could get many needle spikes and overload. Much easier than finding/removing a spike. 2) a big steel warhammer. With a few steel pushed you could mash her/his bones to pulp, disassemble as needed. 3) acid bombs, bullets, traps, buckets, etc. all but kills her, slowly it fast depending on the amount. Etc,etc. So I am struggling with the viability of this plot when the “villain” is technically so easy to kill/stop. Thoughts?
He mentions that they did a full spoiler talk earlier. Is that posted? Are they going to post it. I was on a trip for work and was not near wifi. Would love to hear what was talked about there
Lol, I think I forgot so much of what happens in Mistborn and Wax and Wayne that I'm going to have to reread it all before reading this one... It's been so many years since I read those. Lol, before I had my first daughter in 2017. So much time has passed. What did you all do? Reread Wax and Wayne or also Mistborn? I mean I very vaguely remember the main characters, their abilities and how the magic works. But that's about it.
I am currently in my re-read of the entire Mistborn series as I last read them in 2017/18. I would highly recommend, I got sooo much more out of it the second time, especially as it was my first ever Brandon Sanderson read and I wasn't even aware of the cosmere at the time I first read them. I am currently up to Shadow of Self and I'm trying to quickly make my way to get to the new release 😄 so yea I was in the same boat as you, vaguely remembered characters and the magic system and I can tell you I'm glad I re-read them!

Yes, say for example the industry goes belly up or they sell the business to someone who doesn’t give a F you have another option already built ready to go. Never have your eggs all in one basket.
It was the massively suiccessful Kickstarter that probably persuaded the publisher to go ahead and publish the books. Part of his reason for the Kickstarter was to be able to do premium editions with lots of interior art, quality cover, etc, which his publisher would not be willing to take a risk on. That, and to see if he has a viable option for publishing directly to readers if something ever happened and Amazon pulled his books or publishing companies went belly up.
