I remember meeting Dianne after the concert with Xandria in Prague back in 2014. I was surprised by how down to the earth she is: she talked with fans, took photos, and really made everyone who approached her feel appreciated. So glad she's back. It's time for the fans to show how much we appreciate her too.
I met her post-show at the merch booth 2017 when Xandria and Delain were opening for Sonata Arctica! She took a photo with my friend and I - it was my icon for a couple years!! Really hope I get the chance to see her live some day, and hopefully sign some merch!

I also saw her back in 2014! One of my first concerts and the first singer I ever met live. Such a lovely experience. What I remember the most was thinking about how tall she is (but that might be because I am super short lol). It was such a pleasant first experience with meeting singers. She was so sweet!
@@DiannevanGiersbergen This is not my case, in 2016 I paid for the meet and greet in Colombia to be able to meet her, she was my favorite singer up to that moment, I asked her for a selfie to which she replied "no, I don't know you" and she left. I didn't get to enjoy the rest of the concert, and even though I'm a fan and love their music, it still hurts to remember that moment.

I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you though! Maybe it was an organisational error (there was always crew managing this M&G for us)? I would however never say "no, I dont know you" and then not take a picture with you, thats simply not who I am. So maybe something was lost in translation/organisation, but you clearly feel sad too. Yepp, I missed this since Tarja was kicked out from Nightwish (I love Floor too). Utterly loved the Xandria album with Diane, but frankly her voice sells the music 600 other fairly known bands can play. I hope she has now the (marketing..) power just get a bunch of nice guys around her instead of joining an established band and keep making songs like this. I'm in. What a way to build hype for an album! Dianne's voice just SOARS here, with effortless delivery and angelic power and glory! Visually the video holds true to its fantasy theme very well. The armor, the costuming, the locations, everything is just so well presented and produced. The only thing I would say is missing from her ensemble here would be a sword and shield, maybe a spear. But, that a minor quibble. The song itself is a tour de force of symphonic metal majesty that takes no prisoners and hold NOTHING back! If this first track is ANY indication of what to expect when the full album is released, we're in for a SERIOUS album of the year contender here folks..... I'm calling it NOW!!!!

The sun is rising here in Mexico, so I woke up to find this beautiful surprise. I have to say, I needed to replay it a couple of times before knowing how to summarize how I feel, and how I feel is proud, I'm so proud of you Dianne. Time after time you've proven to be a top class singer, composer and creative. A sign of Dianne's approval means quality, it means passion and it also means freedom. It's a great way to start a solo career, usually the first solo single are kind of awkward for the separation from previous achievements, but this is very familiar and welcoming. Never stop creating Dianne, you have so much to give.

It's nice to have Dianne back doing what she does best. Those who know her from her previous bands know what she can do and how versatile she is. First time I heard Dianne's voice was about 5 years ago while listening to Voyage of the Fallen. I was so blown away with her astonishing voice and the way she sings and made me every word of the song and how she transmit the feelings through her singing. Your previous records pushed me to pursue a degree in vocal performance 10 years ago, and I am still singing today both classically and otherwise. Thank you for carrying the banner for the genre that I deeply love!
@@DiannevanGiersbergen Not many videos - I graduated in 2020 during the pandemic and spent most of my time studying opera repertoire. From 2021 till now I have grinded away on production and released a cover on this RUclips Channel. But I have a few private, more symphonic/power metal recordings linked in the description of that video now. I've removed links as I'd hate to drive traffic away from your awesome video/song and hard work! I was 16 years old when I auditioned and got into a YAP in Europe with the help of my voice teacher who was prepping me for college. My voice wasn't mature enough to sing full roles, but I was able to attend masterclasses and study art song in Novafeltria Italy. While there I traveled out to Masters of Rock as one of the friends I had met there told me about mysterious "Symphonic Metal" - luring me in with promises of Opera's huge vocals but with guitars. I was mesmerized, and we hoofed it all the way to Wacken after our rehearsals wrapped. There, I heard you perform Nightfall which tore open the gates. I couldn't have imagined anyone with an operatic voice like mine could actually be on stage as a rockstar and escape the tight corsets, lack of movement in scene blocking and frequently poor acting of the opera world. I probably would've quit if it hadn't been for introduction to this kind of music, but pressed on through a vocal education to hone my craft so I could sing along and eventually write music of my own. I tried to sing rock and other genres at that time, but my deep, dramatic soprano voice just didn't fit and I didn't have the technical aptitude to cross over at the time (And still am learning 10 years on!). So when I heard you, it gave me hope I could have the best of both worlds. And now you do it again and I feel 10 years younger again .Thanks for sharing this awesome work with the world :)

Wow! What a comeback! What a triumph! Congratulations Dianne! I don’t know exactly what I just witnessed. This style fits you perfectly Dianne - the operatic singing, dramatic acting, gothic warrior dress, fantasy location - everything is perfect. The whole concept is simply Dianne. You have done a number of really epic songs before with Xandria and Ex Libris, this one is certainly right at the top with the best, if not the crown jewel. I have to give credit to Joost too! Wow. He is an audio wizard. The songwriting is out of this world, and so is the production, and let’s not forget the playing of the band. I wouldn’t expect anything less from such top musicians. Will you be doing a crowdfunding to launch your album? I’d definitely want to support this project. Also, if you are still working on the new album, do you think it may be possible to do a duet with Manuela Kraller? She is also starting a new project as ANAYA. I think it will be amazing for fans to hear you two sing together. I don’t mean to dig up things from the past, but it is so nice to see how you have both risen stronger after being through similar experiences and are forging your own ways forward. Regardless of the past, I actually do think your voices will be a good match, since they are soprano, but quite different in tone. Not sure about the technical classification of the two voices (lyrical, dramatic, spinto etc.) but Dianne is slightly brighter and more dramatic in my opinion, whereas Manuela’s classical voice is quite dark for a soprano, but with a lot of power and Manuela can also sing softer pop and also in a rock voice. Simply an idea… But what ever plans you have for the future as a solo artist and collaborations I know it is going to rock. Congratulations once again! I really look forward to more. I wish you luck and know that this new chapter in your life will be very successful.

First time I heard Dianne's voice was about 5 years ago while listening to Voyage of the Fallen. I was so blown away with her astonishing voice and the way she sings and made me every word of the song and how she transmit the feelings through her singing. And now, 5 years later, still gave me the same amazing feelings that I had when I first heard her! No words can describe the charm of this brilliant lady! This is absolutely awesome! Your previous records pushed me to pursue a degree in vocal performance 10 years ago, and I am still singing today both classically and otherwise. From 2021 till now I have grinded away on production and released a cover on this RUclips Channel. But I have a few private, more symphonic/power metal recordings linked in the description of that video now. I've removed links as I'd hate to drive traffic away from your awesome video/song and hard work!
I was 16 years old when I auditioned and got into a YAP in Europe with the help of my voice teacher who was prepping me for college. My voice wasn't mature enough to sing full roles, but I was able to attend masterclasses and study art song in Novafeltria Italy. While there I traveled out to Masters of Rock as one of the friends I had met there told me about mysterious "Symphonic Metal" - luring me in with promises of Opera's huge vocals but with guitars. I was mesmerized, and we hoofed it all the way to Wacken after our rehearsals wrapped. There, I heard you perform Nightfall which tore open the gates. I couldn't have imagined anyone with an operatic voice like mine could actually be on stage as a rockstar and escape the tight corsets, lack of movement in scene blocking and frequently poor acting of the opera world. I probably would've quit if it hadn't been for introduction to this kind of music, but pressed on through a vocal education to hone my craft so I could sing along and eventually write music of my own.
I tried to sing rock and other genres at that time, but my deep, dramatic soprano voice just didn't fit and I didn't have the technical aptitude to cross over at the time (And still am learning 10 years on!). So when I heard you, it gave me hope I could have the best of both worlds. And now you do it again and I feel 10 years younger again .Thanks for sharing this awesome work with the world :)

I don’t know exactly what I just witnessed. This style fits you perfectly Dianne - the operatic singing, dramatic acting, gothic warrior dress, fantasy location - everything is perfect. The whole concept is simply Dianne.
You have done a number of really epic songs before with Xandria and Ex Libris, this one is certainly right at the top with the best, if not the crown jewel.
I have to give credit to Joost too! Wow. He is an audio wizard. The songwriting is out of this world, and so is the production, and let’s not forget the playing of the band. I wouldn’t expect anything less from such top musicians.
Will you be doing a crowdfunding to launch your album? I’d definitely want to support this project.
Also, if you are still working on the new album, do you think it may be possible to do a duet with Manuela Kraller? She is also starting a new project as ANAYA. I think it will be amazing for fans to hear you two sing together. I don’t mean to dig up things from the past, but it is so nice to see how you have both risen stronger after being through similar experiences and are forging your own ways forward.
Regardless of the past, I actually do think your voices will be a good match, since they are soprano, but quite different in tone. Not sure about the technical classification of the two voices (lyrical, dramatic, spinto etc.) but Dianne is slightly brighter and more dramatic in my opinion, whereas Manuela’s classical voice is quite dark for a soprano, but with a lot of power and Manuela can also sing softer pop and also in a rock voice. Simply an idea…
But what ever plans you have for the future as a solo artist and collaborations I know it is going to rock.
Congratulations once again! I really look forward to more. I wish you luck and know that this new chapter in your life will be very successful.
