crunch test has to be how they handle a full track day. very few ultra performance road tyres can withstand the abuse the stock 140 front end setup put on a tyre. The only one so far that Ive seen take the abuse is the kumho PS91.
Love the road at 03:50, its near where I live and its like a mini hill climb every time 😎 better now they've cleared the side of the road so you can see round the bends
Yep thanks for the review Reg, I’ll go for the ps5’s. Currently got Bridgestone Run Craps on my 140 🤯 but loads of tread left and only had the car 6 months so I’m going to have to wear these out first I think 🤔. Keep the videos coming, really enjoy them mate 👍
Ah, that’s a shame. I would definitely recommend the PS5’s for your next tyre. They’ll be going on my car as soon as the Goodyears are done. Thank you 😀
awesome video reg! Got the Goodyear super sports on my m140i right now but looking at the Michelin ps5… with you having experience in both I sure would appreciate your help. I wasn’t a fan on the soft sidewall the Michelin support ports had which the car came with - would you say the ps4/5 follow the same boat?
I had the PS4 for 2 years and they are definitely good tyres but I changed them for the Assymetric 6 and I found the GoodYear to be much better in everything so unless the Continental Sport Contact 7 or maybe the PS5s come to 18” then the Assymetric 6 will be my tyre of choice.
I have the lsd and eibac pro kit on my 140 championship, similar setup to you. I’ve just switched to PS5 tyres and gone to a 255 on rear stock rim (i know, the max is 245 blah blah, but it works and contact patch is actually bigger at 35psi with hardly any roll on a 94y) so Im interested to see if they can match the PS4 wet performance whilst lasting slightly longer than the 3000 odd miles my super sports did 🤣
I just picked up my M140i on Thursday, arranged 4 new PSS * in the deal. I was wondering what tires to fit next, even though that will take a while. Again PSS Starcoded tyres developed for the M135i or non starcoded PS5's.
@@roadreg1820 yeah I was think the same, the PSS was launched In 2011/2012, so that tire was developed with data available 5 years prior to that . PS5 should be the better tire really
PSS were hard wearing did 16k miles on my M140i but were a hard tyre and were best when it was warm outside. PS4 were softer more grippy in cold and wet but the sidewalls were softer and more squirmy feeling and they didn't last as long. PS why is your room soundproofed? Babestation full blast? 😅
@@roadreg1820 i had a jb+ tuning box with PSS and it was fairly lethal with the spikey torque in the wet. A proper linear remap and PS4 was night and day, full traction in the dry and impressive in the wet.

Great video Reg. Going to order some of these for mine ✅

So much better handling than the previous run flats I had. Why did I wait a year ?

Continental sportcontact 7 once the size is available
They’re going to be available in 18* M140i size? The Conti Sport 6’s never where. That will be good.

100 percent PS5’s.

PSS are poop

It’s a hybrid. Bedroom/recording studio! That’s impressive do you did 16k miles on the PSS’s. They are epic in the dry.
