IDGuy, I really like the Pelagos! I was going to do a mod project using a cheap replica as the base watch. But when it arrived I was so surprised at the perfection of the Pelagos design that I haven't modded it yet.
The LHD aesthetic touches (red line and aged look faux patina) set it apart from it’s black/blue brothers, and make for a nicer watch all together in my opinion as an architect. Modern, but retro in the same time. IDGuys comment of getting the crown of an automatic watch out of the way of the wrist really makes sense, it just looks a little odd to right-handed people (worn on the left) ... trying to get my mind around that ...
Thanks for the new series and great content. I have been intrigued by the ball engineer II and the tritium tubes. I was wondering if you might comment on its long-term utility and design integration? Thanks!
Purchased one a few weeks ago. Love it. The spring loaded bracelet is really great in the summer heat. Unpretentious but, cool. Helium release valve ? I'll never use it but, cool.
The matte bezel is better than any shiny ceramic or aluminum bezel insert for that matter. Rolex should use the same matte finish more usability less pompous
While I don't own a Tudor, I agree with each point except the tapering part. On my wrist it actually becomes more uncomfortable and less pleasant for me to look at. Nearly all of my straps are 22 with a few 20. So if it's a straight 20 through and through I can deal with that. But nothing smaller.
Beautiful watch if only it was 40mm. I don't like raised effect on the dial either but I'll probably own one of these someday, in terms of criticism one point I'd like to add is the sheer amount of text on the dial which I think is unnecessary. On a watch forum somebody described the Pelagos as looking like a "poker chip with a paragraph of nonsense on the face" which had me in stitches there is also a meme going around somewhere making fun of the amount of text on the dial.
There is no evidence of grade 2 titanium. I see lots of owner who says it has less scratches than steel watches after a few years. It definitely has more bright hue than cheap grade 2 titanium watches.
Steel Stunners well I have a grade 5 titanium watch for far less that’s going on 9 years and it looks better than those do in with hard use. I like to use my watches and just expect premium materials for that kind of money.
This is probably the best Tudor available in my opinion....LOVE the LHD. I even prefer it over a submariner and sea dweller.
This comes in a close 2nd to the Black Bay '58
Steel Stunners love the 58 also.
we agree again :)
I have one but I’d definitely prefer a submariner ! It’s great but it’s a little too thick for its proportions
I love my lhd as well. I love the crown having on left side, wearing on left hand. Great titanium tool colour. It's really a phantastic watch.

You bought a fake? You maggot
Guilty as charged. But I have debranded the dial. It's a Tudur Pelago now. No longer " Swiss made". It's all in fun.

That bracelet is brilliant!
Well Rolex's ginger headed step son has got a winner there ! It really is a great looking watch.

The best design of a diver watch. Great review!
Such a beautiful watch!
Had a standard Pelli prior moving to the LHD. Much happier with the muted ivory indices, the colors just work so well.

I miss the smiley text toward hour 6, but those snowflake hands are vastly superior to Mercedes hood ornaments.
@ IDGuy, you forgot to mention the wonderful use of a pointed crown guard.
great review, do you know if they make a LHD with an ETA movement instead of an in house one?
Why would you want that?
Eric L I forgot, feel like this was years ago
The clasp functionally, sounds fantastic, but I am not a fan of the bracelet's appearance.

Hello. I really enjoy your videos.
Could you please do one on the Grand Seiko's flagship, the SBGA211 Snowflake?
Tja slab sides are offputting.
LHD? RHD? R&D? Wtf, idk, imho, goat, tyvm, cu, oh...oops!
PS. What a marvelous clasp !!!!! Titanium too....two boner job ;;)))
Made from grade two titanium at that price has turned me away.
What's wrong with grade 2 titanium?

I don't know much about titanium grades 5 is better then? How do you find out the grade?
Steel Stunners much harder, very similar to what Grand Seiko uses.
