Fantastic performance that rides its own unique arrangement and section instrumentation. Love the individual solos and the unison trumpet section 'solo'. Well done, Gentlemen !!
two completely different arrangements of the same great tune, written over half a century apart. one to showcase the insane chops of dizzy gillespie and his band at a tempo that most would fail at, and one to show off the masterful and unique arranging of gordon goodwin and the immaculate playing of his band. both amazing charts from different points in the development of jazz big band as a genre and art form
No, but if you aren't already a TSgt (E-6) you are appointed as one...most players in this band came in as civilians, a few from other AF bands... yes, this is what they do 100% of the time--you can't be this good if you don't!
Holy Sh!t they're good, absolutely knocked it out the park!
At first I thought that lady walked out at the end with a Fleshlight.
Awesome band! Poor trombonist who is sitting in front of lead trumpeter Brian McDonald 😎
That drummer sure is working hard back there 😂👍🏼
killing everywhere but holy moly that bass is holding it down
Awesome!! Such talent.

My favourite is watching the guitarist from 1:48 ... "oh we're playing the OTHER Gordon Goodwin chart"
Great ensemble work and great solos - a marvellous band

yes siiiirrrr🔥🔥🔥🔥
Do you have to be at least an AF MSgt. to get in here? Do they just play sax all day, or do you have to turn a wrench and carry a toolbox too?
