I have the G5 so I decided to buy the LG 360 CAM and I have to say that really works great battery performance is excellent and the quality of pictures also including having very vivid colors is quite compact so stick it in my pocket easily and not cause discomfort I hope that they get a cover that do waterproof
great video. Thank you for this! I am having a lot of trouble deciding which to get. Hands down the Samsung seems like the better choice. But I do not have a Samsung phone. That means that I will not be able to make detailed changes to the video settings as I get into different situations, and I will also have to rely on getting onto an actually computer to share / edit videos. Besides the Samsung app, do you know if anything else can connect to it? Thanks again!
Hey Zack, I mentioned this in your post on Reddit, but you didn't really acknowledge it. I think it's worth mentioning that the LG 360 is much cheaper on eBay due to people selling that got it free from a promotion. I got mine for 150, and there's plenty of current listings for even less than that. Something else I wanted to mention is your comment about the 60 fps. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you sure the 60 fps is slow motion? Typically, the 60 fps is for recording and playing back at 60 fps to get that smooth look. Slow motion usually starts at recording at 120 fps and playing back at 30 fps. Again, I could be wrong since you do have the device. Let me know, I'm curious! Anyway, great video =)
Hey great comment. Normal RUclips videos are played at 30fps. You are right! You can totally play 60fps if you want. RUclips will support it, and it will look good. OR you can spread those sixty frames out over 2 seconds, and get 30 fps with double slow motion. Just depends on what you want to do, and the story you are trying to tell. Its nice to have that option available.
Hi, quick question about the Gear 360, how easy is it to operate without the phone connected, I JUST upgraded to the Nexus 6P and they are not compatible (yet). For instance, is there a time delay on the manual shutter button to give you time to lift the 360 up or frame your shot? Is there a time delay on the video for the same thing? How easy is it to use the stitching software on a PC rather than in-phone. Great videos by the way, your comparison between the image quality of the LG and Samsung was pretty inspired!! It also showed me I need the Samsung rather than LG - if it is easy to use without a phone. Thanks for your time, and making the vids :-)
Hi, just wondering if LG360 is compatible with SGS7Edge and all working as smooth as with LGG5? I don't care too much about the quality of the video as this is not something I'd be using on a regular basis but thought it'd be cool to have one of these cameras. I'm using the S7 Edge phone but Gear 360 is so expensive in UK but LG360 has just been reduced again. Debating weather to buy the LG360 if it's working fine with Samsung phones too?
Is the playback in 180 better than the playback in 360? I might wait until the next gen for both of these cameras. I like the idea, but image quality needs to be better.

The hardware is good enough. But content is not huge and i think a majori issue is that you have to see yourself in a vr headset to really grasp it. The price is also little bite high, but not really consider what you get and what people spend their money otherwize.
Samsung suck it only support ISO minimum 400 and up LG can go as low as ISO 50 manual setting on samsung is super limited. HDR photo on samsung look so bad. And LG have no HDR option. Ricoh theta s is better for photo. Len covers on samsung os too far away from the actual lens causing a lot of light flare and double exposure on the final stitch photo.
i wait for the day when so called techies stop using the Term " Footage and Film" we are digital there is no filming or footage. just a tech peave of mine.

I believe it's possible, but you're gonna have to install the app using the APK file directly instead of just download it from the Play Store.

no, its splash and spill resistant only. which is great for on a boat or something along those lines however do not submerge the 260 camera ever.
