Maaaaaan these were the days!!! Creative improvisational fusion at its very best! Jeff will always be _one of_ the best keyboardists in that era of music to me!
Yeah, I guess this is as close as you can get to the original Band:Jeff on Keys, Kenny G on Sax, Danny Wilson on Bass, Marlon McClain on Guitar, I was lucky to see them twice in the early 80's, but this video is a good one!
@steelybob58 Thanks for the correction. I use to go see Jeff Lorber in the late 70's early 80"s. And Danny Wilson would wow everyone as well as Kenny Gorlick "G". Good shows constantly.
Sigram, that wasn't the original band, Kenny didn't join until Wizard Island, and Marlon McClain wasn't around for the first two albums either...but that was a hot line-up you saw...I never saw the group with Danny, but did see them with Marlon and Nate Phillips (Kenny, Dennis and Jeff)...latter day, I saw the Fusion/Jackets hybrid with Haslip and Kennedy with Eric Marienthal on sax...saw another line-up after that too, just don't remember the players.
Acid wash jeans...OMG!! those were the days...and for some reasons (none of them musical) they should stay right were they are..LOL. Saxmaster...we won't forget longtime drummer Dennis Bradford, but he's not int hsi video...that's the whacking Chad Wackerman on the skins..although no one plays a hi hat like Dennis, that's for sure. Alec's pluck solo kind of died right before he went to the slapping and plucking, but I'll let him pass (lol) - nice performance by all.
Chad Wackerman with Smooth Jazz, hmmm very rare and shows how versatile and true maestro he is
Yo siempre digo que los bateristas más versátiles que pudieron haber existido son tanto Chad Wackerman como Vinnie colaiuta

Similarities between this tune and George Howard's The Preacher!
yep, you're right. Funny thing I can see the album cover with the 3 of them standing there.
