Good Morning Stathis, Thank you for your question. The Velcro strap is used to reduce the amount of force acting on the clew slug or clew car (depending on your set up). By reducing the force acting on the this point you can manipulate the out haul more easily and effectively it will also eliminate the possibility of the clew slug damaging the track in your boom if you are sailing in heavy wind conditions.
@@PrecisionSailLoftVictoria Thanks for responding ! So if I understand well I should use both, the clew car and the Velcro strap in order to reduce forces on the car. Is that correct?
Glad I figured it out when I got my main. The clew slug popped out under load. Then I added the strap and haven't had a problem since.
Why should I use the Velcro strap one I have a track on my boom??

@@stathisyannacopoulos3004 I don't think it's necessary to use booth under all conditions but in heavy conditions it will help.
Where can I purchase Velcro like that?
Good Morning, This type of strap is made of velcro sewn on webbing. It can be made as a DIY project or a local loft would be able to make one for you.
Would have been very helpful to include some insight in how to adjust the loop size. The rest of the video is common sense.
