I remember they went out of their way to hire a guy who had learned Michael’s moves pretty much to a T. Not perfect, but for motion capture purposes, he did a pretty darn good job.
I hate the moonwalk, other parts aren’t too horrible, but the moonwalk was atrocious.

The company that made this “hologram” should’ve done this the first time🙄 me as a Michael Jackson fan was so disappointed with the first performance so the fact that they fixed the face made me happy. God bless Michael’s soul.
The technology didn't exist to do it at this level back then. They did the best they could. They've enhanced that animation with the current technology.
@@JasonDavis103 The problem isn't MJ's face, it's the fact that the expressions are that of Earnest Valentino. He often does this "sad sob" look instead of the aggressive expressions MJ was known for!

Looks very good, of course better than before. But it still look not realistic enough...I bet maybe in 5 years or sth. we can enjoy a more realistic version of a Michael Jackson hologram or movie maybe. The technology is still not good enough.

Sure you might say that his dancing is completely not Michael Jackson standards and the holograms not good but hey, its 2014, the tech wasn't that good enough. And the impersonator is trying to do his job (but they can go with Alex Blanco), so don't be so harsh to him. If you say I don't know anything about MJ, I'm a huge Moonwalker.

It's so cool. The hologram finally looked a little like Michael. Thank you. Michael has always tried to make sure that everything he does is the best. His Estate is not always up to the task, and I am truly glad that his fans are working very hard for this. Michael is proud of it, I'm sure.
As for the hologram, I once changed the speed of a dancer's movements in Cirque du Soleil (Man in the Mirror performance) and re-superimposed the song. And after that, he moved a little better. Same problem here: these holograms are damn slow. But now he is similar at least in appearance, and this is already good!

What they should've did was get the people who did the 2Pac to do it. The 2Pac hologram was MUCH more accurate than anything else.
True... that performance was amazing. The audience thought that the guy had been resurrected, such perplexity at the realistic capacity in the production of Snoop Dogg show
it isn't much different. The 2Pac one also had an impersonator doing the motions, it's just as intensive as MJ doing dance moves.

If you can't tell that this isn't Michael, perhaps you shouldn't comment. This performance was terrible. It reeks of rhythmless Latino, with absolutely no dance skills. These Impersonators learn his Signature moves and that's all. The whole entire performance you could see the confusion. Because it these guys aren't performing a certain song that they've memorized. They're just lost.

I remember watching the original a ton when it came out a few years back. You can definitely see the improvements using modern facial software compared to back then. Great work!
You can really tell that the estate was banking on this tech for future projects. This feels like a precursor to lead into future concerts and tour, but thankfully that did not happen. I think even the audience could tell this isn't right

Hologram Michael had the superior outfit. Like don’t get me wrong, his thriller outfit was iconic but something about the gold jacket with the red pants is just really cool looking.

The emotions that Michael Jackson makes me feel whenever I hear his voice is just unexplainable he is the only artist who would make u feel things that doesn't make sense to you and his energy plus dancing and singing is one of a kind, no one can compare to this legend 😭. And tbh the energy of the dance for the hologram doesnt match the true energy Michael Jackson had...and the moves were danced at the wrong direction 😔 I want to see another Michael Jackson hologram for this year please 😢
Michael was a living legend... the only artist who could turn simple songs into true choreographed spectacles, being able to stop the world to watch the release of his music clips. A star who was even revered by the great dancer and choreographer Fred Astaire

DEFINATELY a significant improvement! Great work MJJ4K. It actually makes a vast difference to bringing the CGI to life. What a pity (particularly at the beginning) the screen they were using to project the background/MJ was waving so much, really takes the viewer out of the experience, what you've done helps bring the viewer into the experience.

@@Dashius77 Earnest Valentino was never officially credited, probably part of the NDA, but he basically posted something along the lines of "thank you fans for all your support!" some time after the event.
People first misattributed it to Christopher Gaspar (who posted about performing after the event aired, but was just referring to an Xscape launch event) and E'Casanova (who was initially selected, according to another impersonator Carlo Riley).
