I believe the orphan was already living, because in the lore it states something about the people of the fishing hamlet worshipping kos, who in turn, turned them into the fish creatures you see in the city, which leads me to my next point, the orphan was living with Kos amongst the citizens. I could be wrong but I believe when Gherman and Maria came to slaughter Kos and the orphan, Kos fell on the orphan as a last ditch effort to save its life. Only awakening by the presence of the moon, and the arrival of the hunter. It’s said it screams at the moon, in anguish of its lost mother, so it makes sense that the first thing it does, when it sees a hunter, is immediately want to slaughter it to oblivion. This is why Maria wanted to kill you, to keep the secret of her and Ghermans atrocities a secret.
That was brutally efficient. He found his opening and he's just waiting for it, punishes and doesn't get greedy. It's always those "I can get one more hit in, it's so close to end..." things that mess you up.
whats funny about greed is that despite wanting to get that last hit in, its always so much more satisfying for the boss to do a move that you know will be their last
I might be in the silent majority here, but I thought that orphan wasn't as difficult as Ludwig. Orphans attacks felt easier to telegraph and read so learning how and when to dodge came by a little quicker.
See, I found Ludwig's attacks to be easy to predict, far easier than Orphan's second phase at least. I can almost do a hitless ludwig, but the second phase of orphan is harder to predict for me
@@filipgabriel1262 second phase of Ludwig is definitely easier for telegraphing. But the first phase to me was a nightmare. I mean, both are nightmare fuel in difficulty anyway. But the startup to all of orphans attacks were unique enough to tell them apart. After I learned how to dodge them, it became a lot easier.
@@christopherdailey1303 orphan has visual telegraphs, Ludwig has mostly unique audio telegraphs for phase 1. Definitely took me longer to beat Ludwig than Orphan first time around but nowadays Orphan gives me a harder time
It’s crazy, how different it is from person to person. Beat Ludwig in a few tries. His moveset was much more intuitive to me, but orphan walled me for over a week
no damage is kind of mental, I beat this guy once solo, and it was nightmare. I am also souls veteran that beat every boss solo..so that says a lot about the boss.
You are a GOD! I just started my Orphan of Kos attempt. Died 7 times and only got him to the frenzy phase twice. I was doing it all wrong after watching you. Dodging away on his large swings when the placenta extends. He catches me 90%of the time. The way you just dodged straight through him and to his back. I had to slow it down and watch it 4 times to make sure you only dodged once because I couldn't understand how the second swing missed you but it did. Excellent. You're videos have helped me beat a lot of bosses. I am not as pretty as you doing it. I definitely take damage but you give me a strategy that obviously works. Edit: Just wanted to come back and tell you I beat him after about 5 more attempts after watching this. Thank you. That second phase is a bitch. It's so hard to stay locked on when he's flying through the air and tossing AOE bombs but somehow I was able to stay alive long enough. What helped was your strategy for viscerals in the first phase. I had the visceral attacks heal 20% rune on so that helped me save vials for the last phase and in the last phase I went through a lot of them as I waited for openings. I got ask, in the video you seemto dodge where you're perfectly placed. I dodged like you - at least I thought I did - and would be so far behind him I had to run in for the charged attack. Like maybe 3 out of 5 times I would be in the right spot. Otherwise I'd get a charged R2 on his face and immediately take retaliation damage.
No he’s not, he is parriable and has many openings that you can punish with a backstab. It seems difficult, but it’s really easy to master compared to bosses like Manus, Friede or Gael
Oh shit! I never played a souls game and got him on my first try just now. I really wasnt expecting that. I was really patient and was only being offensive when I needed to.
Nicely done! I'm having a misfortune of fighting him on 216 lvl on new game+ and he takes half the damage you do here, even with my saw spear +10 and cursed gems. I was dying to the electric attack, now I have some idea how to deal with it thanks!
I have only ever played elden ring, but hey does everyone say Orphan of Kos is one of the hardest bosses in gaming history. He doesn’t look easy by any means but not start a new save kid of hard
Impressive! However, landing those visceral attacks is not easy. You can wear armor with high bolt defense, use defensive runes, and R1 spam the heck out of him while he reaches up to call for lightning in his final phase. You will take a hit but it does maybe 300 damage, or less than a vile. You should do 2,000-3,000 per attack. Dodge his other attacks. Rinse and repeat. Oh by the way, those defensive runes seem to increase stats more than the description implies.
Stun at second phase doesn't work anymore. Did exactly what you did but no stun... As if this boss wasn't unnecessarily tough enough, it's kind of a joke that they made an update like this if im not wrong about second phase stun stuff.

I like to think how Eso plays Bloodbourne is the canon depiction of the Hunter.
doesn’t use his gun at all?
@@drinkwater3453 Stark contrast to the Hunter in Destiny, which mainly uses guns.

this is the one i was waiting for. I was coming back to this guy on and off for two weeks before i finally got him, first time i played
And then I remember how I was stuck and unable to kill this boss for two days. You're a mad one and I respect it.
Same bro i would always get wrecked by the jumping attack lol he made it look too easy

The Orphan Kos's intro cutscene is not a great scene to just listen to. Good lord... that noise....
I had an AMAZING first attempt on Orphan of Kos got to his third phase and I haven't been able to get more than like 6 hits in now HAHAHA
seeing those clothes with that ponytail clipping through the entire game would drive me nuts...

Esoterickk: Killed him without any dmg
Well that was humbling.
