it was just sand a year ago. I've been dumping sawdust from cutting small trees down and i burn brush every winter. i spread ash from the fireplace and dump food scraps plus a lot of leaves every winter. i buy my daughter clay kitty litter and she spreads it down between the rows and i till everything together. getting real nice down there.
