Dark cold winter Monday mornings felt so depressing being underground for 7.15 am, but, Fridays at the mines felt so good, especially if you wangled an early note, first to get showered, pick up your wages in cash and study the print off the wage slip whilst tucking in to fish n chips, jam roly poly n custard and a pint of milk n still have change out of 50 pence!
