최종실류 소고춤은 우리 민족예술의 역사와 함께 탄생된 풍물 또는 남사당패의 연희춤에 뿌리를 두고 있으며 우리 민족의 영원과 사상을 담고있는 미학의춤, 타무로도 불린다.
이에 오늘날 최종실류 소고춤 보존회를 설립해 수많은 예술인들에게 전승되고 있으며 하나의 장르로 자리매김 하고 있다.
최종실류 소고춤은 소고놀이의 독특한 춤사위와 가락을 짜임새있게 구성하여 복원시킨 춤으로 경쾌하면서도 절도있게 몰아치는 춤사위가 특징이다.
소고춤의 형식은 길놀이, 굿거리, 자진모리, 동살풀이, 휘모리순으로 사물놀이 연주와 태평소 반주가 춤을 이끌어가며 치고, 달고, 맺고, 풀고 하는 장단에 맞추어 소고를 두드리는 가락에서 나오는 흥과 신명나는 몸짓을 통해 혼을 담은 춤이다.
