it's a different meaning than what you're thinking. You are not alone refers to the idea that you're not the only one who feels this way, there are others who are depressed and down and we can help and be there for each other.
I have a mother who is depressed she's on medication I had a brother who was clinically depressed he had suïcidal thoughts actually my whole family had to deal with depression so did i years ago but i am not depressed anymore but i know what it is like i understand it what it means

It's so annoying when people always say "You are not alone". Loneliness is actually a big issue, some people genuinely are alone!!!
