We are an Indian and American couple who are sharing our journey through life as an intercultural/interracial couple. Margaret is from Mississippi, USA and Prasanth is from Kerala, India. Loved this. And loved the fact that your daughter was so into it. Tell her ..it’s a great sporting attitude she has and she was doing a fantastic job rowing and enjoying it 😊👍👏👏.When you guys get back to New York try going on route 97, starting Just north of Port Jervis ( which is the border between New Jersey And New York begins - also NJ Transit Train it’s the last stop and I think New York Train Metro North goes further Upstate New York from there) , just before fall or around fall. We drove in our cars from New Jersey into Route 97. Route 97 is parallel to Delaware River and there are points there when you can rent a boat and take it for an hour or 3 hours all the way into Philadelphia if you want to or just even for a short 1 hour ride. Me and my friends did a 1 hour ride.. initially we couldn’t row for nuts.. then we got the hang of it and we loved it and regretted taking it only for 1 hour. But the fall colors were Gorgeous on either side of the river. Also we were lucky because the renters told us just about a week before that the river was overcrowded with Boaters right upto the end of September.. While our arms ached it was a beautiful fabulous workout combined with the beauty of fall colors and serenity of the river it was just gorgeous. So when you guys are back in New York do go there. 😊.

@@WorldOfAnAdventure We didn’t need to make reservations probably because by the time we were there in October, we were the only renters of the boat. One important thing about the river the part we rowed through was a bit calm, but there are sections there where it could get “rapid”. We had told the renters we are inexperienced boaters and to take us to a section that was calm and easy to for novice like us to row. Given the feedback we got from them that the river was very crowded towards mid and late September, when summer is over and fall had started probably at that time you may have to book in advance. Another you need to be aware of New York website has the fall color maps, which show which areas has full bloom of fall colors, because even within a state the trees within a section do not all bloom into fall colors and some places bloom early and shed their leaves early. But even driving through Route 97 as we did in probably the 2nd week of October .. the drive parallel to the Delaware River was beautiful. And there are scenic points where cars pull over to have those beautiful high Mountain Views. Do be careful with a child because traffic does pass by during busy tourists wanting to see fall colors. Another place I would recommend though it’s a long drive are the wineries located at North Fork Long Island. Quiet beautiful hamlets with over 40 wineries and pumpkin festivals along wine tasting and nice fall colors too. There is Caumsett National Park with long walking trails there and a lake with Gorgeous fall colors. People in New York think only of Manhattan but drive North into Upstate New York there are so many gorgeous scenic places to see. I haven’t been to finger lakes or Further up North to George Town which I heard are very beautiful. Bear Mountain and Palisade drive is nice too. Between New York and New Jersey there’s a National Park called Harminson I think .. that drive through fall is absolutely gorgeous gorgeous drive .. it gets packed with Tourists during that time, but it’s beautiful .. you’ll see a lot of Indian Tourists there during fall time 😊.

@@WorldOfAnAdventure That was a trip I missed and I heard it’s Gorgeous up there too. I live in Arizona now and it has its own beautiful gorgeous landscape too. Another place I loved driving through the villages was in an around San Francisco especially during the rainy months post November. And I heard drives through Oregon and Washington state are gorgeous too.
