Great review. Nice to see more inovators offering up choices in our sport. And thanks for the honesty; what's the old engineering mantra? Light, Strong, Inexpensive-pick two.
Beautiful machine thanks for the review. I’m getting an Iris myself as a first paramotor. I liked the closeups and those swing arms are amazing, although i think i’ll have the carbon fiber ones.
@@TrevorSteele1 Thanks Trevor! I'm actually getting one of the demo ones direct from Dmitri that he had at Salton. Its like a two-tone purple with carbon fiber arms.
Unlike other articulating swing arm machines, our swing arms are not free-moving. They actually have urethane rubber dampeners which makes them behave as normal swing arms under cruise flying and mild turns but to articulate under bigger loads. This removes the big issues that exist on free moving swing arms. I've been working on this system for over three years now and in my tests with free moving swing arms I experienced anything from exaggerated torque twist issues on launch to strange issues with timing during acro. Adding the dampeners has made a perfect balance between the two types of systems and has solved ALL negative effects in one clean solution and has not introduced any negative effects. We can also use normal torque compensation techniques like riser offsets and otherwise a non-symmetrical hang system which is not possible on free moving swing arm machines. It's extremely fun to fly and very playful but in a very predictable and stable way.
Can't say I know much about paramotors yet but I have worked on a lot of machinery. From that camera angle 5:04 it looks like you'd have a very hot exhaust pipe fairly close to a plastic tank full of flammable liquid that's sloshing around.

Hey Jeff, our machines are made in-house in the USA and just got launched last summer and only now ramping up in production. The parts are all available, they are just not listed on the website (yet). We will continue adding them as they get broken by customers and need to be replaced and will hopefully find time to make a parts catalogue.
I debated between the 80 and 185 should I ever get into flying. After lots of research I'll pass on the 80. I'm 170 lbs so it would probably work but I'm not a fan of running. With that being said, before I go for training someday I really need to start doing some cardio. I've heard training can be very intense if you're out of shape. Plus I'd rather get my money's worth flying rather than laying on the ground trying to catch my breath haha

camping gear is the same: Light, Warm, Cheap. Or Light, Durable, Cheap. Pick two.

The Iris is a beautiful machine and you will love every minute of it! As a dealer for Iris I'd be happy to help with the order :)

Oh heck yeah! That’s a beautiful paramotor! Enjoy :)
Hitting that "buy" button in the morning. That a commitment, like buying an engagement ring.
Haha sure is
4:08 Very cool accents on the swing arms and frame. I assume you brought the swing arms in closer?
If I recall, the Adventure Pluma has full side to side and up/down weight shift as well. Would be nice to see you fly one. Really strong frame

I like these reviews. Nice looking paramotor! Is that a 140 cm prop?
Great review 👍👍 I fly a true north Paramotor made in Louisiana . Have you ever heard of them ? If not look em up .

You are correct it is close. So far (20 hours in) I haven’t had any issues nor seen anybody else have any issues.
@@TrevorSteele1 Thanks for the quick reply! I'll be sure to check out all the equipment when I am able to schedule training with you.

I’m super interested, just curious about parts support. I noticed the website only has 4 items listed..

If you could only have 1 paramotor what would it be?
