Don, You are absolutely amazing. I love the energy and excitement that you give to us. I have been binge watching your channel and was going to wait and comment until I watch all of your content. But this video requires a comment. I have been searching for property in that area for a couple of weeks. You have killed all of my fears about this challenge so I called Mr. Price today. We spoke in length for a very long time. When you speak to him, please tell him I said hello. Hopefully soon I will make the move from NorthEast Ohio. Thank you for your bravery and encouragement. 😊 How does someone get in contact with you off of RUclips?
@@anniesshenanigans3815 first I would talk to the realtor selling the lot. Request a copy of the CCRs if any, info easement and access. The sellers terms (if owner financed) to the lot. Also check for resources, access to water, game, soil conditions for growing. Trees available for firewood. I would also talk to any locals to get opinions about the area that have lived there a bit. These are just a few ideas
I have my affordable 6 acre home. So much better ti retire in a country aetting with my tiny house. Lots of wildlife here, too. I hope this encourages these seniors out there its possible though. Hope you get some rain next week! Cheers!
Hi Nanny Rain would be great but its a mixed blessing when all of my home framing is still subject to the elements. So delighted I went with waterproof OSB for the floor.
Thanks Don, this is a very helpful video. It sounds as if this real estate company will do the right thing and explain what is involved to potential buyers. It would be fun to be your neighbor! Have an awesome week Don! :)
Everything looks great there, Don!I You are doing a GREAT job! I have 5 acres in Portal to sell on Poor Wiil Ln.. It's beautiful there on the East side of the Chiracahua Mts.! If anyone would be interested.....oh it has a well and electric.
A hint to those considering relocating to anywhere in Arizona. Get allergy tested for our weeds, pollens, and grasses before moving. Moving here, then finding out you're allergic to mesquite (and everything else) is not a surprise you want :-)
Hi Don, it's August 29th , haven't seen any videos from you since this one hope all is OK with you - just wondering if you have a current video of your larger home build that is in process.
I'm planning on doing the van life thing when I retire is a few years. Go around the country doing the bucket list for a few years while I buy an off grid property in arizona to settle down in.
Good plan Dale. Although property seems to be going up in price these days. But the beauty of it all is that there is no scripted exact choice for any of individual. Thanks for watching.
My property is for sale down here if anyone is looking. >10 acres of RU-4 directly off highway 92. Plans have changed so I can't do my off-grid plan :-/
I loved living in AZ. MY next stop, though, having just retired? The French Pyrenees. I've done the RV/nomad/work remote thing since 2017. Time to put down some roots and travel. Love your channel!
@@affordabledesertliving3487 oh that’s awesome. That elevation helps. We had a 7 day stretch of 100-102 deg heat here in Portland. Now high 80’s. my A/C just can’t handle that kind of heat. I don’t take heat well. Cat was miserable too. Hopefully that’s the last of the 100’s!
I am so sorry and I have no idea what the issue is. RUclips has some odd algorithms I guess. One of my best friends never gets notifications when I have a new video. Just odd. Thanks for being so faithful to watch.
You do solar for power. You catch rain water. Or have water delivered. Or use the 5 gallon water containers. They can be refilled at Walmarts or a grocery store.
No well here at all rareroots. I am primarily rainwater harvesting and will increase my harvest with more roofspace hopefully soon. A well is financially not viable for some, me included.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Dig your own well, add a hand pump and you're set. There is a couple who buy off-grid abandoned land in Alaska and another state, and they dig their own wells.

We bought our property from Ron Price! He’s awesome!!! The process was painless.
Thats so great to hear! Way to go.
Great sponsor! Good on you for finding someone local to promote!!
Thanks so much for coming by Liberty.

Do you know anything about counties in AZ with minimal building codes/restrictions? I'm interested in doing something like this for retirement.
Check out my video describing Cochise county owner builder opt out. That is how I am able to afford to retire here.
Apache county is very relaxed about property use.
interesting that some of those listed show a hoa fee...SMALL, however....
Most of the time those fees are for road up keep.
and it's always best to ask about them.
Always best to do your homework no matter what land you might purchase I figure. Thanks for watching.
