It’s a crime how underrated Bob Schneider is after such a great album in lonelyland. I’ve been listening to it for, well 22 years, and it’s my wife and my soundtrack after 20 years of marriage. Still brings me back to living in an apartment off riverside in 2001, going to ACC and hanging out with chill people. Good times!
im not much of a live music listener type of person...but I happen to be channel surfing and caught the first five minutes of bob's performance on Austin city limits on pbs when it first aired. I was hooked and couldn't turn it off...finished the entire show. then went out the next day to buy his cd. still have it and take it out once in a while to give it a listen and reminisce. Good stuff! If you're out there Bob...I always appreciated the emotion you put in to lonelyland. thanks for the great music!
Same thing happened to me, just happened to catch it in a moment when it really meant something -- still does, though, one of my very favorite songs and performances. Bob's still at it, by the way. Has a website, still great.
This song takes me back. I recall watching Austin city limits on PBS. Just dumb luck I heard this song. Really touched me. This song and Lorena really is part of my 2001\2002 soundtrack. Bob is a gifted song writer.
It's nice to see such a positive reaction from the audience given that Schneider has just bared his soul. Those are genuine smiles of appreciation at 3:41.
@skidivedude My pleasure, thanks for playing along... If you check my RUclips page there are 7 songs from this show. They are not too bad coming from a VHS tape.

Exactly same thing happened to me. Cause Baby it's been a long long time, since you walked out my door. Love it, brings tears to my eyes.

I was a huge fan around the time this album came out. Forgot about bob for a while. Just rediscovering him again. Thanks.

Have seen Bob dozens of times, but never this song. Thanks for posting!
Happy New Year Folks!! Here's some Bob for ya.
I don't know the history of the song, but looks like he really is going through everything that the song speaks of while singing right on that stage.
Song was written by Kathy Griffin.

He played this in Atlanta with autotune. I had it and lost my cd. He is a 3rd cousin.
