Gear train design and layout, Mechanical Design, Southern Maine Community College

This is a video of a two hour class conducted at Southern Maine Community College on power transmission with an emphasis on gears and the techniques used to represent them graphically using SolidWorks. The class was conducted in a classroom with some students and a larger number of students on Zoom.
Note: I have at least one error in this video. The power loss in an internal combustion engine is not 30%. That is the power that is NOT lost. The power loss is 70%-88% that goes out the tailpipe and into the air as heat or noise.
