    I rode the T regularly during the 70s. I cant even remember ANY announcements! You just had to look out the windows and read the bannered station signs for the particularly T line you were on. If you had a green line motorman that called out the stops, you were lucky.

      @@ilovelolsurprise3419 That's a different voice actor named Alvin Elliot. He sounds very similar, but I think he has an even deeper bellow than Oglesby.

    I usually rode the red line; It’s my favorite announcements. There is a strange delay sometimes. “Next stop……..ANDREW!”

    the silver line voice might sound familiar but you just cant but your finger on it. thats because the "female voice" on the silver line is Carolyn Hopkins. She voiced announcements for over 200 airports all over the world!

      :O I'll be sure to note that if/when I make an updated video of Boston with the CRRC train announcements.

      @Dovark that voice is actually Donna Reed. She actually did the voice for Lynx here in Orlando, plus for a number of other cities in the US as well as a number of airports….

    • @Dovark
      @Dovark Год назад

      @@3dkidsartfairs I'm definitely not sure who this is. There doesn't seem to be any trace of anyone named Donna Reed in this particular field of work. To me, the voice distinctly sounds like Carolyn Hopkins, and it makes sense considering the amount of airports she has done announcements for. I'll ask you, how do you know that this voice is whoever you're talking about?

      Oh, that would be interesting. There are quite a few transit personalities around the world who I wish could offer their voices for such a website.

    That female voice on the Silver Line is Donna Reed. I know that because she does Lynx here in Orlando.

    You forgot to add the Braintree arrival announcement. Besides that, great video!

      Yep, I felt bad that I hadn't gotten a recording of the Braintree announcement in time to posting this video. I hope to correct that when I provide an update with the new CRRC trains on the Red and Orange Lines.

      Hey, just an update. I was back in Boston this past summer getting recordings of the new CRRC trains' announcements and remembered this request you made. Unfortunately, some of those Braintree arrival announcement recordings a little crummy and hard to hear. Since I plan to post an Updated copy of this video at some point, I'll try my best to get them in.

      Let me take a look at my audio file collection. I can try and whip up something in the next couple of months. It's been a while since I did Voices That Move Our Cities. In the meantime, I have posted individual announcements videos on the channel if that helps.

    I actually have audio that’s not in the video Recently I have gotten on a green line to Cleveland circle and because there was a train behind us it went express apparently there is a special announcement for it if the train goes express and I have a video recording of it I know there is a announcement as well for a station if an express train is passing that exists but unfortunately idk how it goes or have no recording of it the only recording I have is a green line train announcing that it’s going express

      I think I remember hearing a station announcement in Harvard saying "the next red line train will not stop." Could that be the same? If you want to upload that audio in a video, and I get a chance to record the new audio on the CRRC trains, I could add it to an updated video for Boston. I'm just a little backlogged on a few other cities but should have that figured out soon (I hope).

      The primary voice of the T is Frank Oglesby Jr. He was Deputy Director of Customer Service for the MBTA until 2016 but continues to provide voices for the T as a contractor. As for who the other voices are, unfortunately that's harder to find info on.
