I nearly chocked on my water when you quoted the price of that picnic basket. I have one in my barn to store some odds and ends of glassware. And then you quoted some more prices of other things and if I could transport my barns to Canada, I could rest on “easy street”. But we know that’s not possible. I do love the treasures you both brought home. I have throughly enjoyed Tasha sharing the spotlight with you and this mama’s heart knows how very much you have loved having her visit. I will look forward to seeing your beautiful picture hanging above your fireplace.
😂 That made me laugh!! I have a feeling that (I’m assuming you live in the US) there is a lot more old treasures in the US than in Canada. Now, I could be completely wrong. Quebec, and that side of Canada is much older than BC. So I feel like we don’t have as much old stuff. I absolutely loved having my daughter to share with you guys. She is the only one (of my kids) interested in being in my videos, and unfortunately we live far apart. But I loved every minute of it! ❤️
Hi Barbara! ❤️ I think it’s because I’ve always been a thrifter, so I’ve taken them with me for years! Now that they are all grown up, it is a great bonding experience.
It's nice to see another mom of teens/young adults. I feel like I'm the only mom at that stage of life when I visit RUclips or Instagram. Thank you for being relatable!
I completely agree with you. Most of the women I watch have young kids. The only person I watch at this stage of life is Abbey-Jo from Forgotten Way Farm. I think, for the most part, we are less “techy” because we didn’t grow up with iPhones and all the stuff kids know now. But the awesome thing is that my kids know way more than I do, so they are the ones that I go to for advice! 😅
This was so fun! Y’all found some great treasures! One thing I enjoy about thrifting is if I grow tired of something I don’t have to feel guilty about passing it along for someone else. Oh and I’ve been meaning to say that the rectangle shaped picture you have in your dining room with the mirror in the center is on a show we watch called “ All Creatures Great and Small” by the BBC. Every time I see it I think of you. 😊
Hi Suzanne, old glass will turn purple over time when exposed to sunlight because it contains magnesium oxide. It is not dangerous, but people collect it now because of the pretty color. They stopped putting that in glass making around WW1 time period. There is also uranium glass, which is also called Vaseline glass, it is greenish yellow and turns very neon green when exposed to a black light. Alot of times you will see people shopping in thrift stores with small UV flashlights. They are looking for uranium glass. Thanks for the fun vid. Karla in Cali.
Hi Karla, that is so interesting! It sounds like you know a lot about antiques. It is very pretty, especially now that I know it isn’t toxic. Thanks for all the great info. Happy New Year! 🥳
What a great day thrifting. Thanks for taking us along. I haven't been to one in ages. Think I need to call my daughters and setup a thrift day. Happy New Year. Joan
I haven’t been to her new place since she moved, but her little cottage before was so beautifully decorated. She has shown me around when we do our video calls. I’d love to go visit and film it!
Suzanne, Happy New Year and thank you for taking us along with your family on the thrifting and antiquing adventures. You and your daughter both got some amazing treasures at great prices. Looking forward to seeing your items styled in your home, especially the Cabin in the Snow artwork. I have a similar set of miniature copper kitchen utensils to the ones you showed (@10:59). I've had mine for a long time and I hang them on a tabletop Christmas tree (red, vintage feather tree) in my kitchen.
Hi Leslie, you are so welcome! ❤️ I was so happy when I found that picture. I am working on future videos right now. There will be a lot of decluttering and organizing my home for the new year. I’m hoping to make a huge transformation (without spending!)
Most of the footage I took was in the antique stores. It was harder to get footage in the thrift stores (so many people!). The antique stores were pricey. This particular town is a gem. It’s a farming community, and one of the antique dealers told me that a lot of the items come from the older Mennonite farmers. Definitely worth the drive! 😊
Happy new year to you and yours Suzanne. Those thrift stores in Armstrong are really great. I couldn’t believe my luck when I stumbled across them when I was a young mom. I bought a lot of vintage toys for the children in those shops. Not to mention clothing for them as well. It’s a wonderful feeling when you can find such items at a wonderful price. So I’m happy that you also found some things for your homes. Seeing your video today brought back some precious memories for me. Thank you and again happy new year. Rose in Penticton.
Hi Rose, so nice that you live close enough to have visited these stores! I have a daughter that moved to Armstrong, so I get to see her when I go there. So many stores for such a small town! ❤️
So many great finds! Thanks for sharing your thrifting trip with us. BTW, those gorgeous blue bowls are actually cuspidors.....used by tobacco chewers when they needed to spit indoors. They are in great shape and certainly would make super dog bowls. I love re-purposing old items......I often use porcelain chamber pots as planters.
Your daughter's Irish coffee mugs would make perfect candle holders. You would not have to worry about the wax going onto the table. Great finds today!
Fun video! I could not believe the price on the picnic basket! I see them all the time. In fact I have several but only paid a few dollars for them. I would love to see Tasha's home!
@@ComecaJones awww, she will love to hear that. She doesn’t, but I have been encouraging her to start something. She is very talented and has her aesthetic down! 😀
I also thought it was quite expensive, but I actually never see them. I think they are a rare thing where I live. Either way, not spending 80.00 on a basket!! 😅

How fun that your kids enjoy thrifting/antiquing with you! You found some really great stuff! I love thrift hauls and home tours. --Barbara

yes would love to watch Tasha journey as well
Thank you, I will let her know! She needs to start her own RUclips channel!
What a fun day and great finds! Thank you for sharing your day ❤
Thanks so much! ❤️ Glad you enjoyed it.
So much fun! Thanks for sharing your finds - they are beautiful! I love your locket as it’s very unique.
Thank you! Yes, I am loving it so much! ❤️
I had such a great time! Just finished putting up most of the frames onto my gallery wall and it’s looking really good so far!
Can’t wait to see it once it’s done! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy New Year, kind family!
Thank you, you as well 🎉🥳

Really?! That’s so cool, I will have to check it out! Thanks 😊❤️
I love all your thrift finds, especially the green cardigan! Green is my favourite colour 💚
Yes! She is really happy with that purchase 😀
Love shopping with you and your daughter.
Thank you! ❤️
Your daughter, Tasha has such gorgeous hair! Fun video. I love thrifting and antique stores.
Awww, thank you, I’m sure she will love to hear that. ❤️
Always bring measurements with you on your hunt.😊❤
Thank you, great tip! ❤️
Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed your daughter’s input also
Thank you. It was so nice having someone to be in a few videos with me. Loved it!

I have worked in large antique mall for 15 years and learned a lot!
@ you are a great resource!! Thank you. Your skills are valuable!
What a great day thrifting. Thanks for taking us along. I haven't been to one in ages. Think I need to call my daughters and setup a thrift day. Happy New Year. Joan
Hi Joan, definitely do so. You won’t regret the time spent with your daughters, even if you don’t find anything. ❤️
Happy New Year! Yes, I’d love to see Tasha’s home!
I haven’t been to her new place since she moved, but her little cottage before was so beautifully decorated. She has shown me around when we do our video calls. I’d love to go visit and film it!
What great treasures. I would love to tour Tasha's home. I am sure it is beautiful.
Yes, she has shown me some of her progress since moving. She is much better than me at decorating!!

I really hope to see Tasha’s home once she’s finished decorating!
I will let her know, thank you! 😊
We don’t have amazing things like you found. Our thrift stores are not at all like yours. I’m so glad that you had a great time with your children. ❤

Love your haul. Ya'll found such great things. Happy New Year. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you! We had a great time. I will remember this trip for a long time to come ❤️
Good stuff at great deals, especially the copper and art!
Yes! It’s crazy, the difference between the antique prices and the thrift prices. Thrifting is the better option by far!
Happy new year ❤😊
Thank you, you as well! 🎉🥳
Happy New Year! 🎉
You have a lovely family! I love thrifting. I wish there were good thrift stores in or near my town 🥹.
Happy New Year! 🥳 I wish you luck with thrifting. It isn’t always good here either, but this was a particularly good day!

Oh wow! So cool. I never would have guessed that! I just assumed they were dog bowls. They are really beautiful ❤️
Your daughter's Irish coffee mugs would make perfect candle holders. You would not have to worry about the wax going onto the table. Great finds today!
That is so true! I know she has been planning on making her own candles. Not sure she’d be willing to use them in that way, but you’re right!!! 😊
or just place taper candles in them.
You and your daughter need to do more videos! Loved going shopping with ya!!
Thanks Terri! It was so much fun! ❤️
Tasha has great hair. 🤩
Thank you!! She really does! ❤️
Fun video! I could not believe the price on the picnic basket! I see them all the time. In fact I have several but only paid a few dollars for them. I would love to see Tasha's home!
Oh I wish to find baskets like that at a thrift store! They just aren’t common to find here, which is why they can charge an absorbent price!! 😖 😅
I have seen the old door knobs placed on a "board" and used for hanging costs etc. Very pretty.
Oh that’s such a great idea! They are so beautiful ❤️
You found some wonderful things! What a fun day with your daughter! My daughters name is Tasha also!
Such a beautiful name ❤️
The price label on those blue receptacles said ‘cuspidor’ they were used for ‘spit’.
Yes, someone told me that as well in the comments, I would have had no idea!
Does Tasha have a blog! If not she should!
@@ComecaJones awww, she will love to hear that. She doesn’t, but I have been encouraging her to start something. She is very talented and has her aesthetic down! 😀
🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤👍👍🙋♀
❤️❤️❤️
80.00 for a vintage picnic basket is to much money . The most i ve ever paid for a vintage picnic basket is 12.00.
I also thought it was quite expensive, but I actually never see them. I think they are a rare thing where I live. Either way, not spending 80.00 on a basket!! 😅
Merhaba kolaylı gelsin, başarılar dilerim. Sizden destek istesem gelirmisiniz bilmiyorum. Türkiye'den selamlar sevgiler. ❤
