I prefer the bang shift, and good explanation on the execution too. I consider it more of a STOMP on the clutch pedal. When i was rolling in my 89' 2wd obs, i used to look over at my girlfriend and make "pew" noises like a bullet ricochet during shifts lol its like a blink. Had a wore out tbi 4.3 and seemed like everyone wanted to throw down because no exhaust and i drive like a dick. Id let it sing till it was done making power and just screaming, then BANG. Horrific wheelhop. Imanaged to beat 1 Jeep Cherokee that was hust as rusty as my truck. It was fckin awesome lol
Used to do the same with my old 4.3 s10. Swapped a nv3500 into it and just raised hell. No exhaust and anybody could line up. Being a lighter truck it did pretty good when kids would pull up in the lifted trucks. Raced a subie once and it put about a car length on me. It was all fun wasn't worried about winning or losing.
@@ChrisTheBmxGuy my truck in my pfp has a straight piped carb 4.3, just took it out to swap a 327 but man it would scream. it was attached to a th350 with a shiftkit and I had a lot of fun with it!
You can actually make an auto slam though gears if you lift and slam the gas at its shift points. It'll be slower, but will shift hard as my cock when your daddy is around.
If you want your transmission to last just get a short throw shifter (if needed) and work your way up to shifting faster. I’ve never used any of these “hardcore” shifting techniques and I can still downshift multiple gears in a panic stop. Same goes for up shifting, there’s no *safe* cheat codes to this.
@@Its_3055 Definitely depends on the situation. If it's between stopping as fast as possible and having a little extra time, I of course prioritize braking first. The advantage of downshifting is having the power to further accelerate out of the way in case you might get rear ended or otherwise need to get away as fast as possible.
In the first method, you take your foot off the gas while pressing the clutch. In the second method you leave your foot floored on the gas while stepping on the clutch. The second method is widely used by gassers.
Take out syncros and add straight cut gears and you have a perfect car for power shifting. No clutch required. You just might explode the trans if you dont slam it properly on gear.
Usually it's cam or valves that fail or cause issue with high rpm. Pistons rarely fail as a result of high rpm, but due to interference with other parts that can't keep up. 11k rpms in an old 289 is glorious. @@duranium4445
With bang shifting try half clutching too, just slamming the clutch shocks the drive terrain, I like to half clutch that way the release is smooth, and I get consistent acceleration(side note half clutching also requires you to basically know how to float gears without the clutch)
I only ever power shifted my car after an old lady totaled it (it was perfectly driveable just some dents) and I was waiting for insurance to pay me out😂 It was fun but I'd never do it on a car I don't actually want to break
I'm more of a lazy kind of guy I'm just shipped without the clutch. Of course you can't do that from a stop but once you get going no need for the clutch anymore.
"I like power shifting, but it breaks things a LOT!" Keep in mind that this guy also likes breaking things a LOT, so this method might not be for everyone.
I think this is wrong. As far as I know, bang shigting or float shifting, is shifting without a clutch, not stomping on the clutch. It wouldn't really make any sense and it wouldn't help the driver with anything
Bruh from my knowledge power shifting is a way of shifting without the clutch.... You used clutch the whole time... Maybe I'm wrong but my grandfather and dad both taught me power shifting is clutchless flat footed shifting
or just dont eeven use the clutch and grind her in to first and just rev rap in to every gear ever after.. dont worry ur transsmission will have a lil shavers but it will work... going on 10 years now with my 1995 si never use the clutch once
These kind of videos are why im scared to try learning manual 😂 you mfs all got some weird ass way of doing it that usually breaks things if you dont know exactly what youre doing
I am not saying that I am a good driver. But, you know, rally drivers use the clutch. They use two feet. These stupid 'techniques' are for people who want to drive fast but can't be bothered to learn.
Bang......new clutch.......Bang.......new transmission.....
Sure wish he would have mentioned it tears shit up so people don't have to leave these dam ass comments.......oh wait he did!
😂😂
You go from power shifting to money shifting
True
If you don’t know your gear box😂
Hate money shifting lmao
Make the money do the shuffle side step
@Ambrose4k how exactly can you do that without damaging your gearbox? What secrets would you know?
"I like power shifting, but it breaks things a lot" 😂🤣
A great lesson on Synchro Abuse 101. This is good advice for anyone looking to waste a few thousand and to create a massive inconvenience.
sounds great, starting now
@@MrBronkitis😂😂 I cackled at this
@@MrBronkitis hahahahahahaha HELL YEAH BROTHER
My trans costs 900$ to rebuild and lasts 50k miles with some fun bang shifting involved. Takes 30 mins to drop the trans. -completely worth it
Yeah, we aren't all teenagers living on our parents' dime.

Same shit in my 97 2.3L 2wd ranger, it feels fast :(
omw to try this in my automatic
Lmk how that goes so I can try it on mine!
yes me to oh wait i have a 5 speed in my truck XD lol i would never try this but looks crazy.
You can actually make an auto slam though gears if you lift and slam the gas at its shift points. It'll be slower, but will shift hard as my cock when your daddy is around.
Bring it to 60 and slam it into R for race mode
I got the paddle shifters babyyy
I’ve got a no lift shift tune on my Jetta and it’s amazing😂
wait what is this I have a 17’ Jetta gli manual
Christmas tree clusters 🤣🤣🤣
I would no lift shift on my 2000 Saturn SL1. The thing didn't like it, but it was fun.

In a panic stop you shouldn't worry about changing gears. Just put your clutch in and slam on the breaks
@@Its_3055 Definitely depends on the situation. If it's between stopping as fast as possible and having a little extra time, I of course prioritize braking first.

Next episode, we’ll talk about money shifting🤭😅😅

Hate the sound of straight cut gears I can't stand em
This is how we use to send off a transmission when the new one was sitting on the garage floor and ready to go in. lol It's fun. Just stupid fun.
The cylinders still won't like the high rpms 😂

I didn’t know you had a new edge mustang! I need some videos!!!
Didn't need the lesson but it's good to see that someone else enjoys doing it just as much as I do😂
Putting tension on the shifter when not shifting gears will f*** up the synchros
With bang shifting try half clutching too, just slamming the clutch shocks the drive terrain, I like to half clutch that way the release is smooth, and I get consistent acceleration(side note half clutching also requires you to basically know how to float gears without the clutch)
Who needs pressure plates anyway 😂
i think i naturally learned to bang shift i’ve never heard of it but i think that’s what i do
Basically applying pressure to your shift knob into the next gear you are wanting to go into.
What if you just let it in first gear all the time and just rev it to 11,000 rpm ?
Great way to FK up your Clutch too....good Job Kid. Keep passing along these Genius tips. 😂
Forget Whistlin Diesel…
We’ve got humming kerosene
Totally felt the last face of the video 🤣
This is an instructional video on how to need a new transmission. Follow for more quick money spending tips
That's called preloading your shift. Very useful for shenanigans, safer than power shifts
And brake the springs on the clutch....😊😊😊
try doing that without lifting off the gas pedal. you did in both demonstrations
He drives like me😂
You can also pul it out an in in any gear if you match the revs
I’ve also not used a clutch when changing gears it slams pretty good
how to have fun with a car that you plan on engine and trans swapping
You explained first but what's second
The difference?

Up next: clutchless power shift
Don't forget the no lift shift
I did that in the ORiellys delivery truck. Pro tip, don’t ever buy a parts delivery truck. 😂
My buddy in high school had a Honda and power shifted all the time he ripped the motor mounts off the subframe
We call power-shifting "Flat shifting" here
Both of which can break shit, so I’d personally either build everything out or use a shitbox
alright now try rev matching
So power shifting u just never lift from gas?
I think this is wrong. As far as I know, bang shigting or float shifting, is shifting without a clutch, not stomping on the clutch. It wouldn't really make any sense and it wouldn't help the driver with anything
When you go for an oil change and they take it for some bang shifting test drives 😢
My dad never does anything except powershifing I'm his 24 valve😂
Huh, I already bang shift just daily driving and I thought that was just normal shifting.
It is normal bjt power shitfing is like floating the gears makes you go fast
So what about if I just don’t clutch and float all my gears
DON'T LIFT THE GAS WHEN YOU SHIFT !!
JUST A QUICK LESSON
What's all this glitter in my trans fluid?
No lift POWER SHIFT every time 😝
Good job but you lifted, keep that right foot planted on the throttle.
Hold up, did anyone else notice no keys in the ignition?
My clutch line restrictor does not agree with this lesson.
This is fun, but he's not talkin' about glancin' at the tac'.. It's a feel thing, but every car is different with a manual..
I’m so confused what’s the difference
I tried this in my Peterbilt I don’t have third or fourth gear anymore👁️👄👁️
I always power shift the autos
For like a sec I thought he was wd
Now try WOT shifting.
i would always bang shift my 05 gto 😂😂
The second gear syncro in mine won't allow this lol
Sad my t5 wouldn’t let me power shift it
I bang shift but a lot slower because i drive an Old truck
Can I power shift with ya?😂
I'm dripper I like the power shifting
The most abusive is the money shift
The hell was that sound?!??
I don’t like either I double clutch and rev match why tear your stuff up due to lack of experience. 😂
This isn't what bang shifting is. Bang shifting or float shifting is when you shift without using the clutch
Wabbaaawaaawaaa🎉
waaaabababa got it
WHAP WAHP WAP!!!!
This guy dosent shift it to race mode for extra hp gains
Bruh from my knowledge power shifting is a way of shifting without the clutch.... You used clutch the whole time... Maybe I'm wrong but my grandfather and dad both taught me power shifting is clutchless flat footed shifting
Watch people try this on their stock setups…..
real men drive automatics
or just dont eeven use the clutch and grind her in to first and just rev rap in to every gear ever after.. dont worry ur transsmission will have a lil shavers but it will work... going on 10 years now with my 1995 si never use the clutch once
Well you must be very proud of yourself.
Lol should have named them both money shifting
I think bang shifting is just quick shifting and pushin the limit of your cars trans
Or you can do with no clutch at all
You’re not power shifting if you are using the clutch
only thing that would have made this better is if he dropped the trans in the middle of the video
Isn't power shifting the only way? 🤔🤣
That’s definitely not power shifting power shifting is where your foot does not come off the accelerator kick the clutch pull the lever next gear
Tom your an animal 😅
Why does that guy look so much like @whistlindiesel ❤😂
Do that be a terminator
Just get a wot box 🎉🎉
That’s rev matching not “bang shifting” lmfao
These kind of videos are why im scared to try learning manual 😂 you mfs all got some weird ass way of doing it that usually breaks things if you dont know exactly what youre doing
Where was the key😂
Don’t do this
I am not saying that I am a good driver. But, you know, rally drivers use the clutch. They use two feet. These stupid 'techniques' are for people who want to drive fast but can't be bothered to learn.
Of course q mechanic is showing you how to destroy your car
