  • This interview has both Hannah and Dr. Shrikhande speak with Dr. Vapnek and take a look into how the function of the bladder affects the pelvic floor and surrounding area. It's a fascinating talk with an amazing urologist.
While Dr. Vapnek’s practice includes all of the urological disorders found in most urology practices, his recognized areas of expertise are urinary incontinence, neuro-urology, urodynamics and female urology. A large number of his patients have problems with urinary incontinence or bladder control problems from neurological disorders including spinal cord injury. In addition, spinal cord injured patients have found Dr. Vapnek a caring physician who can also effectively counsel and treat their issues with sexuality and intimacy.

Best advice they gave - don’t visit the IC sites when newly diagnosed. It will leave you in despair - despair that honestly isn’t realistic. Most people gain back good health and just go through temporary flares.

Tried so many meds for OB. All gave me dry mouth but didn't relieve my urinary frequency.
DMSO helped me tremendously when I had it done years ago. Just scheduled new appt as I'm having major flare-up again. Last time I had anything done, it was Botox and I didn't notice much difference then.
Thank you for the video as I'm always trying to learn more about this issue.

Have you tried pelvic floor physical therapy? I have urgency, not frequency. I REALLY didn't want to go on medication for it. I think it's helped me, but it's hard to know if I'm just between bouts. But it seems like it really has helped to reduce urgency. You can do it alongside other treatments. Your doctor may have already mentioned this as you have tried other less conservative treatments. Whatever you do, I hope you are able to figure out what works for YOU!

    I wish I had to urinate 8× a day and not 80×
