This presenter is great, knows his stuff, speaks clearly and concisely. First time I have seen him and he should do more reviews. Love the car ideal small SUV.
PLEASE LET THIS MAN TEST THE BMW X2 TOO! He speaks naturally and clear, even if I'm not English I understand every word he says. Also he talks about the driving skills not just the technical features. Thank you.
Going to order 1 of these next week, just checking all the last min reviews I can and found this guy, he’s good, sounds like a DJ got a nice clear voice and knows his cars
Good review, with as others have said, a useful factual approach. The XC40 does appeal although with a list price of over £30K it's up against some serious driving machines (ie) BMW 3 Series Touring with a discount.
Nice car which I suspect is aimed at younger buyers. I will test drive one but being an older gentleman I sort of feel obliged to stick with the XC60 !
The kids nowadays don't looking at the window, instead they are watching or playing on their platform. That's why the windows are higher than normal. So it's not a big problem ;)
I am a Volvo fan. We have a new XC60 that replaced a V90. I was looking at this for the Mrs but I can't help but sense a whiff of Ssanyong in the styling of the XC40. Also the £40k price for the launch edition is hard to take.
It is NOT a family car! For a family one will need rear seats space on a decent level and at least the seats inclined adequately- the XC40 rear seats are position upright to...save space which makes them quite uncomfortable for long ride. Been in it and seen this so I am sure it is not just opinion of some reviewers!
I feel that the new VW Tiguan is definitely more of an XC60 competitor. It's much larger. Not sure it's worth mentioning here. Perhaps the Audi Q3 would be better suited for comparison.
How can it be legal for a car manufacturer to make cars with Ipads in the center console when it's illegal to use a phone thats right infront of youre face?
No, they are not even on the XC60 which is a real shame! To get this premium option you will need BMW SUVs or ...a non premium car like Nissan X-trail . These days premium means less for more :)
It is quite curious how car testers sometimes subjectively juggle with objective facts, depending on how they enjoy the car, overall. Here it is obvious that the presenter likes the car, as a whole. I suppose it is that fact that makes him praise the front and back sitting space when they are clearly quite tight (...even if we overlook the fact that the presenter, himself, is kind of a large fellow...)
That's a terrible way to use an interface clearly designed for a touchscreen. I've tried the one in the E-Class and it was so counter-intuitive using a controller for CarPlay.
Oscar Lee I'm not sure voice control could be counter intuitive?? I like to keep my eyes on the road, so touch screens are a nightmare, especially if you're on imperfect terrain
FAR TO EXPENSIVE, most things are optional at MUCH extra cost!! ie Android auto/CarPlay £300 you are JOKING 😳 theres no height adjustable passenger seat on nearly every trim level unless of course you want to dig into your pocket again! I test drove the 1.5 petrol manual R Line against a Peugeot 3008 GT Line Premium 1.2 petrol manual fully loaded no options NEEDED! and my wife and i came to the same conclusion that the 3008 won hands down so we bought one! One last thing the back doors are small on the Volvo TOO, we found it harder to get baby seat in back! and Adults alike SHAME he doesn't mention this?
Great what car recommending a diesel when sales are in free fall. Five years from now nobody will be daft enough to buy these cars except for telegraph and daily mail readers.
Car makers need to stop lying to everyone. This is a bloody hatchback and not a bloody SUV. The same goes for X1 and X3 (they're just estates) and Evoque, Juke and all other cars wannabe riches drive thinking they drive massive Range Rovers... Please.
Hatchbacks don't have 10 inches of ground clearance and AWD. But as you say, they are not SUVs( an SUV should be able to drag a boat or drive on a beach-- utility factor with low range locking gearbox) ) That's why these are called crossovers -- a cross between a wagon( body shape) and an SUV( high ground clearance and some sort of 4x4).
I like your thinking and can agree to some extent, but the point is, anyone driving these dishonest "SUVs" or any other crossover is only lying to themselves.
@@STG44VOLVO got nothing to do with his presenting which I'd say is very clear and concise. But what about if his weight is due to health issues and he hates donuts or Macs?
This presenter is great, knows his stuff, speaks clearly and concisely. First time I have seen him and he should do more reviews. Love the car ideal small SUV.
He is just the bomb.
Speaks so clearly with well polished, accurate spoken english yet without breaks in between
This guy is one of the best presenter, so as the car XC40. Professional way in reviewing, no nonsense or much bias. Great.
PLEASE LET THIS MAN TEST THE BMW X2 TOO!
He speaks naturally and clear, even if I'm not English I understand every word he says. Also he talks about the driving skills not just the technical features. Thank you.
This guy's a natural presenter. Great job. Nice car too
He was goood on Countryfile.
I agree!
He looks like the guy from Family Guy.
Don`t known why, but I just wanna pinch his fat cheek :)
I really like this new Volvo XC40. Funky looks and interior make it quite youthful. My wife loves it enough to want one quite badly ☺
happy wife happy life :)
This guy has my attention as a presenter. Please keep him on....very clear and concise.
Nice informative review. Thumbs up for the presenter too. Love the car
Going to order 1 of these next week, just checking all the last min reviews I can and found this guy, he’s good, sounds like a DJ got a nice clear voice and knows his cars
Out of the many demos of knee room and leg room, this is the one I trust the most.
Good journalism, something the industry really needs these days. Good video
Not seem him before, but he is very good!
Best review I've ever seen.
You Came Through.
That dude is likeable
Very Good
Really nice
Volvo really is on form lately.
Nice job reviewing that awesome car.
Phenomenal!
Everybody has said it
But I say it again
This guy is enjoyable
I just love how this guy talks.
I love Peter Griffin's new job at Whatcar! Good reviews.
Alec Tang 😂😂😂😂
I want one and I'm 24 with no kids. Lol
It sounds like a great small SUV.
markjwil speed up
Brilliant presenter. Never seem him before, but really like him.

Lol 3 series Touring? If you're gonna use BMW as an example then why not the X1. Which is a direct competitor.
Nice review.
The bass speakers are moved out of the doors to the dash, not up in the doors. That's why there's so much door storage space.
Nice car which I suspect is aimed at younger buyers. I will test drive one but being an older gentleman I sort of feel obliged to stick with the XC60 !
Drive the XC40, it'll make an easy decision for you!
You dont have to go to touchscreen for every little task. You can use voice commands. Assuming it is similar to xc90
The New Volvo XC40 Is a great Family SUV
I saw this in the new Tomb Raider movie and instantly fell in love
The boss has arrived
All reviews are on the D4 / D5 AWD ..Where is the review on the manual who want the cheaper version.
Best review I've ever seen.
The kids nowadays don't looking at the window, instead they are watching or playing on their platform. That's why the windows are higher than normal. So it's not a big problem ;)
Dude is a legend
Gerat video! Does anybody know the name of the song that's playing all the time?
Volvo is making great cars lately.
Get this guy on Top Gear!
More like fifth gear.
Best looking mid size luxury SUV!
Great job of explaining the details. I love the car.👍👍👍
It‘s the sexy 40.
Danne6und8zig FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT
Danne6und8zig lolll
Thanks for a very well done review! Love the car 👍🏻
You've Earned My Respect.
I'm sold on my next buy 👍

What a nice guy, good review.
Top 4 cars to buy. Xc40, jaguar epace, Lexus nx fpace, or Jeep
You've Got What It Takes!

T-rock and q2?
Price?
Really articulate presenter. Really good. I might prefer looking at the curvilicious Rebecca Jackson but I think he’s very good at talking about cars.
Very good review, excellent car!
It is unacceptably heavy for the segment. Nobody mention that.
The e-pace weighs more than the f-pace, no one mentions that either!
Jonathan C r u ok with the fact? I'm not.
How can it be legal for a car manufacturer to make cars with Ipads in the center console when it's illegal to use a phone thats right infront of youre face?
Agreed, our lawmakers forget that driving well is about what you're going with your brain, much more than whether both hands are on the steering wheel
Will the back seat recline and adjstble?
No, they are not even on the XC60 which is a real shame!

myslecinaczej a HUGE shame indeed..is like getting a phone without 3.5mm Jack!
Nice car and great review!

I love the design.
Is it 7 seats?
Very nice car.
That Sensus can be a PITA at times. You just want to turn a knob or push and button and be done with it.
80 Days, 6 hours left till I pickup my R-Design XC-40 ... not counting at all
The XC40 is NOT a family SUV. It's far too small. The XC60 is more acceptable for that role, the XC90 being perfect.
it's a good car only if you can afford it
very good review.
Like it a lot Shame out of my price range
Looks attractive.
Mate...slow down. Content good, just feels rushed
No, don't make him slow down. He's concise but manages to impart loads of useful info without wasting a second. Perfect.
Adam Long : make the playback slower like 0.75
This car is more expensive than a Mercedes GLC where I live. Ridiculous.
Is it BNW or BMW?
Hi love this car 🚘
What is this? 2019 review, video uploaded Jan 2018. 67 plate on the car
Great car, but I hate touch screens, that alone is enough to put me off as I think they are unsafe and over complicated.
How else would you use Android Auto/Apple CarPlay?
Oscar Lee voice command or rotary dial, that's how my current car works with it
That's a terrible way to use an interface clearly designed for a touchscreen. I've tried the one in the E-Class and it was so counter-intuitive using a controller for CarPlay.
Oscar Lee I'm not sure voice control could be counter intuitive?? I like to keep my eyes on the road, so touch screens are a nightmare, especially if you're on imperfect terrain
I'm saying the rotary dial is.
Thank You For Caring.
It’s Peter Griffin
That c pillar though..
Phenomenal!
It's really interesting.
Side to side wobble. Not surprised.
Great car! SAAB is missing all this action, maybe another Chinese conglomerate is aiming to buy it, that´d be great!!!
Full electric version incoming!
You Came Through.
I really like it
Well Done.
My dream car!! :)
Looks interesting.
It's a lovely car...👏👏👍

E-pace.. or this..
Ben Bradbury this
I think I would take the Volvo
This
Rear seats seem very tight
sa akin na car ok?na personal ko car ok

The Xc40 is nicer than the xc90

i know he likes donuts and big macs..bt hes pretty good , unlike alot of other useless presenters..
Totally out of content to comment on the presenter's body.
Sten Rasmussen Why?
@@STG44VOLVO got nothing to do with his presenting which I'd say is very clear and concise. But what about if his weight is due to health issues and he hates donuts or Macs?
Wicked.
Like Russian dolls :) Hello from Russia :)
Reliability isuues and expensive to maintain Lexus a better choice
