Thank you for sharing this valuable information -- using colors this way certainly adds to the interest and unity to the painting. I will definitely remember this trick!
You have a real mastery for blending colors. You are right, they really do enhance the visual level, giving extra richness to the painting. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge and advancing the degree of beauty in artwork.
Very beautiful! I thought the first painting was beautiful until you painted the second one and explained why you did it differently. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of watercolor painting!
Wow that was really informative! By demonstrating it, I could “get it” because just looking at the two finished pictures I wouldn’t be able to say why one definitely looks better. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed your tutorial ,explanation and then showing the difference. Very informative ,lovely painting . Will try this. Thank you for this and keeping it simple and understandable. 10+
I do love the clouds on the left too! That's the thing with watercolour, when you paint wet into wet, it is almost impossible to recreate the exact same wash, and I love it because every piece is unique. But this video was not about painting clouds, it was about how I use colour to create harmony. Thanks for watching 😁
For me as a dabbler in watercolour I ''invented'' my own trick: in case of any unclear situation - add violet dark )) now I start to guess why! Thank you so much for your tutorial!
Beautiful! I have one question though. Why the white gap between the land and the sky? I don't know why but that I find that annoying. Of course I am one of those people that blends everything to death and has a very difficult time with negative space. I always feel that I need to fill it in with something.
Thank you for watching! When I paint my landscapes I am guided by the rhythm and the relationships between different elements of the scene - between the lights, the midtones, and the darks, and between the colours I choose for that particular scene, and not by trying to make something looks realistic. I use a lot of white space (the pure white of the paper) in my work to bring more depth and atmosphere to a scene, and to separate the different elements/areas of the landscape. In this particular one, the white line represents areas of morning fog to me, but it also separates the hills and the fields, making both areas stand out more, and the the same time pushing the hills further into the background, creating depth. I love how much "fresh air" the white brings into a landscape, but we are all different so you don't have to use it in your work - that's the beauty of art, we are all unique in our creative expression. What someone finds annoying can look lovely to another person, and vice versa.

I really like how the buff titanium adds depth and misty essence.
It is such a useful colour for landscapes! Very subtle, but it adds so much to a scene.

Although the painting on the right has more depth and dimension, i find the clouds in the left painting more soft and natural. 😅

Your explanation makes me think maybe it wouldn’t be so hard to paint something like this myself! Thank you.

One of the things I learned is "add the colors you've used even if it doesn't make sense. Hope that makes sense.
Exactly! I love the way you worded this. You only need a little touch of those colours to create harmony. Thank you for watching!
Exactly! Perfect explanation)
For me as a dabbler in watercolour I ''invented'' my own trick: in case of any unclear situation - add violet dark )) now I start to guess why!
