I've watched a couple dozen Luka Doncic videos by now and you're the first content producer who has mentioned how he does his right side stepback differently. Very nice.
This is the kind of content we want!
Galvaxatron thanks man I got you.
@@TyrenJohnson1 For me Luka is Lebron and Harden like, as you said with sneaky athletisism but so much talented player , even If we hyped him, he s able to increse his level , just amazing. Thanks bro really good job
I totally agree! Great catch and greet analysis!
I always enjoy listening to a person who really knows basketball talking about Luka, because they are in a position to appreciate all of the little technical details that all add up to provide the answer why Doncic is so good. He's so fundamentally sound, which he bases his creativity off. If he ever suffered a bad injury (and I sincerely hope he never does), he would still be able to come back as good as before, because his game is based on an off the charts basketball IQ, and technical fundamentals and high skill level. I think this kid is going to have a long Hall of Fame career, and imo will be considered the greatest non-American to ever play the game barring a career ending injury.
He's in a great situation in Dallas, with a young solid team around him. Mark Cuban loves him, and he's got one of the best coaches in Rick Carlisle. I really hope that he fulfils his potential and had a long and successful career in the NBA. I love to watch him play
Great vid mate, enjoyed the content.
I agree I think he will be one of the greats bro.
I’m a Dallas fan and when we first got Luka I expected him to be a prime 22 6 and 7 guy but boy was I wrong, dude will go down as a top 10-20 greatest player ever
I think top 5 if he stays healthy
i've been a dallas fan for the past 20 years, and i've intensely watched Luka played for the past 2 years. In terms of GOAT rankings, he has the potential to be between top 20-30 players of all time. At this tier you have guys like Dwayne Wade, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash & Scottie Pippen who are all legends.
What it takes to crack top 15 goat ranking is supreme physical advantages combined with supreme skillset, that's what it takes to dominate your peers. Luka's a challenge to stop for a lot of players, but his lacking physical dominance means there are a handful of players that can shut him down. (Team defenses would be more effective against Luka, if Dallas hadn't surrounded him with excellent shooting.)
I think Luka possesses an incredibly polished skillset and with a longevity in his career he will easily crack top 50 which in itself is high praise for a 2nd year player. And if he continues to develop his game and adds an unstoppable move, he'll potentially land top 20-30 in the goat rankings.
eujukey if he works more in his defense to the point he’s a solid defender he’ll definitely would be top 5
@@TKGoose I think you are wrong, Larry Bird is a top 10 player and his physical advantages ain't that impressive, I would go and say Luka is more athletic or as athletic as him, and keep in mind Bird played injured for most parts of his career.
Luka can be a top 10 player, cause he is physically gifted, having a quick first step isn't all, and his first step is pretty ok.
@@kccx4x ya he can just be like klay Thompson on defense
Sent this to a couple friends already great to see breakdown from someone who actually knows there stuff
thanks man I appreciate that
Tyren Johnson all love keep doing yeah thing man you got next
Yes Tyren is very intelligent when it comes to player analysis I know I'll learn a lot from him. Hey TJ you gonna come back to the League??
their*
His playmaking is the strongest part about him imo. He’s a master of the pick and roll and knows how to make those plays in high pressure situations wether it’s him shooting the last shot or collapsing the entire defense and looks for the open shooter.
Respect. Love hearing the perspective of a professional who understands and appreciates all the nuances of Luka's game. Salute.
You've put my thoughts into words while I was watching Luka playing ACB and Euro League last years, thanks!!
Such a clear & non bias analysis. please keep making videos.
The whole package!
Took me a week to edit bro
Bro this is such a great video on my dude Luka! People don’t talk about him as much as they should since they think he is too young to be considered great or exceptional. This video shows why he should and how age should not matter when superb talent is shown on a daily basis.
This is crazy good content, thank you!
Break down Jalen Brunson next!
Thanks, maybe one day I'll get to him I'm trying to focus on the superstars right now.
@Elliott Gold are you trolling or just dumb?
yoo i really appreciate you breaking down my favourite nba player. Please keep doing this!
My favourite player. Been studying his game for a long time now
amazing video! Tomaž from Slovenija
I loved this! I've been trying to reach the next level in my game and this helped a lot. Liked and subbed
Luka's poise is one of his best attribute, especially at his age too. Plays at his own pace, always in control..
Facts
Thanks for the film study. It’s all about fundamentals and practicing shots that are unstoppable. High floater, quick release with high arc. Step back( one of the best). Luka has feel for the game, makes his teammates better. He needs more consistent on the 3, better FT%, Most kids practice dunking in early 2000s. Curry and harden change that. Now it’s about the 3s. Luka have all the offensive skills. Defense is ? And he admits he need to get better to better the teams chances to win. I really like that he not too athletic, he doesn’t jump high(less chance of feet injury). Not to quick(uses change of direction) less knee injury. And even if he does have an injury, it wouldn’t effect his game like Westbrook and D Rose.
You’re spot on.
This is q great channel and I don't know any others with content like this u need to get on the grind
thanks man appreciate it
I think the way he protect the ball the way he use his off arm and the way he watch the head of the defenders like LeBron is something that must be pointed at
( Thank you for this quality content )
He definitely has some Lebron in him.
Great breakdown! I absolutely loved it.
Btw, it's more like Donchich rarther than Donchik.
You're right! lol
Thanks,you did a wonderful job highlighting Luka's game.Great job!!! Keep'em coming..
The scary part about Luka is that he's still growing. I didn't know who he was before the Mavs Drafted him. I'll never forget the first time I watched film on him. I thought to myself, "He looks like a combination of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. I told myself "the Mavs have got to find a way to make him the point guard because of his ball handling, court vision, and passing" .
his film was crazy pre draft.
Look at da flick of the wrist!
Great video.
Great video is very intereset and good your method of explanation about this your help me to resolved all my question excellent content!!
Great to hear!
Great video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Pretty spot on my man.
Appreciate it!
Thanks for the intelligent commentary. You got my subscription.
Much appreciated!
Awesome to see your breakdown of his post up now that I know how he’s worked on it
Great job man! Love it 👌
👏👏👏
The only thing I would add is "Rebounding" - he has a great general feel for the game, but his timing for rebounts is getting obvious...to a category on its own ;)
Subscribe from Slovenia 👍
I agree. This breakdown actually missed how efficient he is off the pick and roll.
Wow. Excellent knowledge. Great vid.
Glad you liked it!
Simply phenomenal!💪🏻
Thank you 🙌
Could you put your vidéo on rashad philipps mind. Thanks 😁
loved the video mr.johnson. subscribed! best wishes for your channel from nepal !
Luka's 3P depured shoot technique is only seen on Manu Ginobili's technique.....but latter used not to take too many 3P, but when he did, did it very well....
Just discover this channel. Love to hear breakdowns from a players pov. Can’t wait for move videos.
Very nice presentation. Thanks! Great job!
thank you
Excellent, very intelligent content. Great eye 4 detail. Keep doing what you're doing. Tnx
thank you
This guy is truly one of a kind
Foot work is king and he looks like a ballet dancer playing with statues. Not unlike A great pitcher he changes speed so smoothly and gracefully he makes his opponents look clumsy.
I’m late to the party, but this was a dope breakdown of Luka’s game. Since you made this, he’s developed more of a post game & he got that midrange shot in the last year too. Wonder what he’ll add next? I hope the mavs get a secondary playmaker to take some of the pressure off Luka & so he can play off ball a little more b/c his usage rate is crazy high right now. Really enjoyed yer vid, good stuff man!
thank you, Luka is differnet.
Excellent work playa! Learned allot. Liked and subscribed. You should do Ja Morant next. Ball don't lie!
This was very well made Thx :D
What a very comprehensive break down! Good job!
Can't wait to see the NBA back! I really hope the long break hasn't dulled Luka's hot streak. Still, it was good for Porzingis, giving him time to recover.
Good video! Nice breakdown.
Luka is going to end up as one of the greatest magician of all time for sure!!!
Super Tyren, très intéressant
Nice Content!
this man be multitasking his life. Baller and youtuber, damn
It's fun bro. Got to have fun with it.
Merci!
Keep it up man. Nice 😉
Great Breakdown bro !
KP next please
I was thinking of a big.
@@TyrenJohnson1 Nah, then it'll be two Mavs guys in a row. I love the Mavs & Luka, so that's how I stumbled here. It was dope though, so I'll def watch more. To get the channel to spread though you should do the best player(s) on each team, and rotate the teams each ep. Do Giannis next!! :)
@@TyrenJohnson1 dont see kp video, unsubscribe :(
I said the same thing about Luka and told all my friends up in Sac that are Kings fans that they fucked up big time not drafting Luka. They'll be kicking themselves in the butt the same way Charlotte is with Kobe in a few years.
nice video, thx
Bruh so detailed made me subscribed thanks
thank you
Great breakdown....I'll be the first to admit I didn't know Luka was going to be this good this early. I didn't see much film on him as many other NBA fans probably hadn't either when he was drafted. I knew he'd be good but he's been GREAT! Also "sneaky athleticism" is a term used to describe mostly white players who are more athletic than average white guy
Sneaky because he's not known for dunking.
Awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed it
This guy knows his shit
. Great analysis.
Awesome breakdown bro
Great analysis n fair judgement 👏👏
Great breakdown brother!
Appreciate it!
Thank you Tyren....for this qualitative analysis
My pleasure!
I just subscribe! Great content my guy!!
thank you
Thank you for such a great series. I don’t know much about technical aspects in basketball and your videos help me A LOT.
Can you do one film study about Luka’s teammate, Kristaps Porzingis?
I’ve heard that KP has a unique style of playing (hence the nickname unicorn), but I don’t know what makes it so unique.
I really appreciate it if you can. Thank you xo
Thank you. 1 day i’ll get to KP.
@@TyrenJohnson1 Thanks a lot 😊😊😊
Great vid
Great points.
Enjoyed your commentary, young players can learn a lot from listening to you ! 👍👍👍👍👍
great video man. you nailed it
Yo this is complete! Feels like you got every aspect of Luka noted.
Can you do one on Kyrie?
Thanks, for sure we have to get Kyrie.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
These are fire bro you should do draft prospect ( lamelo, Edwards, wiseman)
I think it's funny it's always about his lack of athleticism, while he's got like the best body control out there! I think that's more valuable than being able to do a 360 dunk and he is more athletic than people think/say.
i agree
I don't think he lacks athleticism. I think he just moves efficiently kinda like kawhi. It's there if they want to but... It's a long game and staying fresh ain't such a bad idea.
Great analysis. If the rest of the league watches this video they will be sick.
Luka is something special
yessirrr, you see what i told you? this vid boutta get big🤞🤝👀🙏🥶
You already know, you definitely inspired me bro. I was done.
Tyren Johnson Sheeeesh you dont know how glad i am you said that😤🙏🥶
Good content bro. 💖
Thanks 🔥
I watch NBA mostly because of LUKA
Great review!
great analysis. would love to hear your thoughts on kawhi
Will do soon
Great take on this young phenom!Look forward to checking out more.Trae Young?
Talk about Tony Parker's game.
Good video bro
Wow what a great video! Thanks a lot man! Would be nice if you can check out Luka’s recent updates to his game: post and midrange!
Sure thing!
what makes him not lose balance when he is driving to the basket what strength drills should one do?
he drives strong he doesn't always try to burn someone ...maybe slow down your drives idk
Has great core strength and keeps the center of gravity low, also watch his off hand while driving
Very good breakdown.
Actually him off ball isn’t bad at all, he creates space and fill in the holes but the mavs run a 5 out offense which doesn’t require him to move off ball a lot
Great analysis, thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
great summary!!
well did
As we saw in the playoffs, when needed, Luka plays high level defense. When we talk about his defense there's always this narrative that he is a bad defender or even an liability.
But no one seems to notice that we only have regular season games to study his defense when we all know that defense mostly matters in the playoffs.
And since Luka is such a menace on offense there is no point in him loosing to much energy on defense. If he wasn't a 30p triple double treat he'd be playing tougher defense.
This way, let him work his magic on the offensive side.
Come playoffs, he can hold his ground with the best of them and he still has 6-7 years just to hit his prime. The way he plays, the way he competes and the way he is used to wining he wont be leaving to many championships on the table for the next 10 -15 years. If somehow Giannis decides to join KP and Luka they will have the league on a lock down.
If he only plays defense in the playoffs I think you pretty much know how I feel about his defense.
tnx for the video
No problem!
Luka for president
His defense has taken leaps this year. They ain't switching on him much anymore.
thank you.
you are speaking all of the thing that I was thinkin.
Set shots are one motion so the power from your legs goes to the ball instead of to elevation
U could mention pace as well. Nice video.
Ok next time, I thought I did. I think I called it scan. Same definition as pace pretty much.
He is fun to watch
very fun
great great film study you should analyze chris paul if you haven't already
terrific video bro, could you do dbook
Coming this weekend
When you transfer the energy from your legs to the ball instead of elevating youll always have more range
that's a fact
