    I have a very old seth Thomas wall clock .having a glass spot in spring barrel nd watching red type liquid inside barrel ..is it Red mercury !!? Plz ans

    I broke a mercury pendulum with shiny mercury. Quite beautiful. The replaced mercury viles are tarnished looking. Can it be made shiny.

    The gravity ISN'T really always the same though. It's constantly subtly changing throughout the year due to tidal forces from the moon and as groundwater accumulates and flows away due to precipitation variation, also when people walk up to the clock like you did here the gravity field is altered by a minuscule amount.

      Yeah. You're right. Clockmakers really need to take the General Theory of Relativity into account when manufacturing clocks.
