I always use synthetic oil I change it every 10,000 miles. And I'll take the transmission oil pan off, clean the oil pan, replace the filter, and add the difference in transmission fluid. Never any transmission issues.
Wow, I am impressed that you bought it in that condition and fixed it yourself. That's so cool. I have a 2012 Honda Pilot with 200k miles on it and I am considering exchanging it for something more practical and less bulky. Mazda 5 looks like a good choice.
I'm watching this video currently with a deposit on a used '08 Mazda 5 GT, full load 5spd manual, leather with 155k kilometers ( 96,000 miles ) . Before watching your video I was contemplating if it was the right decision to give up my little Focus SVT for a 2nd more practical vehicle ( 2 young kids ) Thanks for affirming ( indirectly) my decision lol. Oh I also have an 07 Mazda 3 so why not own a pair of Mazdas right?! 😆
I have better things to do than work on a car.... That's why I won't buy Chrysler, GM, Ford, ect. No disrespect meant to anyone. But 183 thousand miles and still the original.... Fuel pump Water pump Injectors Coils Starter Cam chain (that would be 2 belts and time for a 3rd) A/C compressor. I did replace..... Motor mounts Front sway bar bushings C/V axle Radiator Door handle Electric window motor But really...183 K? Somethings gonna wear out on a 12 year old car. Another bonus is Mazda is much cheaper used than Toyota and Honda. But who is #1 in this years consumer reports? Yep....Mazda
I taped 5 extensions together to get the front bolts holding the sway bar bushings. The rear ones I got from the bottom I recall. Tuff but doable on a non rusty (phoenix) 5.
I just got a 2009 premacy 157km awesome car even electric doors can even Open the sliding doors from my keyfob thanks for choosing me a cool car my kids love it too
You're talking about a used vehicle and there's too many variables for me to give you a determination whether it's good or not. All of the Mazda5's are good vehicles but some have little issues that maybe some other years don't. You have to do research to figure all this out.
Test drive it first. I got a 2012 with 117,000 on it that I bought for a real good price, and it's the best car I ever owned. The power and the ride and the fit and finish are second to none. You got to love the sliding doors on both sides, and the storage bins under the second row seats is ingenious. You can put all kinds of stuff in there and nobody will ever see it. You got to watch it though you'll be at 70 mph before you know it
Thanks for this. I'm looking at a 2010 Mazda5 tomorrow with 146,000 km on it to convert into a mini campervan. So your talking 183k miles correct not km? I'm from Canada.
Another big plus is mazda doesn't cost as much as the competition. Honda & Toyota are pretty great on resale....but I dont think they are 'Way' better. That 2008 I got for free has gone 100,000 miles for me! [183,000 now] Drive axle. Steering pump.- Mazda fixed free! Rad. Door handle. Motor mounts. Sway bar bushings. Thats about it. Mazda should have put a turbo version out. Maybie 250 hp@ the wheels.
Well.. I had a 2007 Mazda 5 sport mini van..Until A deer came out of nowhere..&.. jumped onto my lil sweet car..was traveling the highway..55mph..and after the deer landed on my car..it waslights out!!! My hood flew back smacked n stayed on the windshield..Oh yeah scary! Let me tell ya that.. luckily I was wearing my seatbelt for sure!!! But miss the car..it's hit for sure..
No. I was putting up yard sale signs and I put the car in neutral and use the parking brake instead of putting it in park. The parking brake was up just enough for the light to be on. Good eyes.
Thank you so much! I just bought a 2009 Mazda5 Grand Touring and it's really nice to hear your great reviews!

Very reliable made in Japan.
@McFlyGuitarsandStuff Cool. I'll have to find one and check out the size to see if it's enough for my family of 5
4 will be cozy....one a bit cramped.
Thanks for this! Currently looking at used Mazda5s, so this was really helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Just bought one a 2009 5 Sport...love it!!
Good choice!

I just bought a 2015 mazda 5 base and had to replace sway bushings, be sure to get them early!

Hi Dennis. You must live in Europe or Asia as I've never seen it called a premacy here in the usa.
I have.a 2007 Mazda 5 and is the best car and fun driving 2 others I'm had of 9 cars I've owned since 1985. Love it.
Cool...
Interested in getting a 2012 model or a previous gen , you think I should go for it ?

It actually needs a motor mount lol . It's awesome.

Miles...I lived in Canada 20 years eh 🍁
刚刚成为马自达5的车主,目前感觉一切OK
I think I laid out issues in this video. The front sway bar bushings. That's the biggest one. Motor mounts. Great cars.

Oh man that's a tough break.GLAD you were ok. The van was written off? Deer?
Are you driving with the emergency brake on?
No. I was putting up yard sale signs and I put the car in neutral and use the parking brake instead of putting it in park. The parking brake was up just enough for the light to be on. Good eyes.
I love Mazda I have a 2009 Mazda 3 178k miles
Runs sooo good lol if the car hits 200k I will replaced a lot of stuff but if no then no
Consumer Report says Mazda is the second best car. Jeep is dead last.
Did it make it?
