Looking at the position of the slide valve it's a miracle the poor thing ran at all ,the reversing lever position should be possible to correct by moving the eccentrics 180deg , it looks like it's been set up as a 4 shaft engine...but you're probably aware of this already !!! Regards Steve
I've got the road engine version of this model. Since its rebuild (not by me) it's only ever been run on compressed air, but I've since fitted a gas burner and only need to make up a short connecting pipe to feed it with gas from a 'water bowser' towed behind it. Am I correct in thinking that yours has a crank mounted water pump? Mine couldn't have one as there's no space on the gear shaft, so I'm left with just the manual pump.

what they do on full size engines for taking tight curves is remove the pin from one wheel

This is definitely not my engine, I am just working on it fo a customer. Yes it has a crankshaft driver water pump.
