Dearest Lucille, That was another beautiful video from you. Thank GOD you already settled here before the Novel virus pandemic. I wished that many good people like you had settled here. You brought joy to our hearts, that is one of the reasons that Mauritian people like you so much. Cordially, Javed
Happy new year to you and your family. Economically it’s not the best, but having the place to yourself is wonderful I presume.. I do miss the place, now that I’m getting older I’m getting nostalgic and want to come and visit. The foiling looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing and giving us a glimpse of the beautiful lagoon. Take care.
Hi Patrice. Happy new year to you. It is hard witnessing the loss of jobs here, the closure of businesses and shops, the struggles the hotels face... At least we have the natural beauty... Let’s hope 2021 will get better. All of the best.
I am in Mauritius now and have been windsurfing here. There are several spots to sail or foil or kite in Le Morne. There is the Lagoon which is shallow knee high to chest high with Reed beds and minimal coral reef but there are areas to avoid. Some foilers out in the sandy area of Lagoon but it would be max 75cm mast. There are two other spots in Le Morne where foiling is pretty risk free of hitting reef etc so it’s doable. Of course the outer reef has various waves but this would be for advanced riders only or very good intermediates . There is no RNLI here so getting lost at sea is possible, kiting is very beginner friendly in Lagoon, other areas and outer waves look insanely good! In short come to Mauritius the place is amazing and other worldly. Lucy’s vlogs have a ton of info 🤙🏼🏖🏄🏻♂️
Hi Lucy. Some fancy flying with the Mavic. I have also acquired one (about 7 months ago) and have done a bit of footage around Kimberley where I am from. You are most welcome to check them out, first attempts :-) We have been to Mauritius and loved it and are considering moving there, so weighing up all the options at the moment especially with the new easing of restrictions regarding entry. (We are thinking West Coast). Anyway, have been following your videos with interest as they contain information that is relevant, interesting, entertaining and they are visually very appealing. Keep them going! Awesome stuff!
Hi Derrick! Thanks for this lovely comment. Luckily it's still easy to fly drones on the island, but I believe in Europe and America, the drone flying restrictions are becoming very tedious?! I'd love to see your footage... Mauritius is a great place to live, but I do miss home (Cape Town) a lot. I guess one always has to be happy and content wherever one lives in the world. Thanks for watching my videos. More to come soo. :)
Hi Bryan! Yes I too wing foil, surf and kiteboard, but I never have anyone to fly the drone and film me! I’ve seen a few of your lovely videos too. Let me know if you ever want to meet up :)
@@LucyLeheilleix Wow, I will have to try it one day. The last time I did that sort of thing it was called 'windsurfing' haha. I will send you a message on Instagram, I would love to meet up.
@@LucyLeheilleix Thank you! Also I make updates on Cyclones on my channel so if Mauritius is threatened by I cyclone, I will keep everyone on the island updated! Stay safe!
Hey Hurricane Jimmy! I’ll definitely check out your channel. I love tracking the storms and cyclones. Looks like there’s another one coming soon? Take care.
Hopefully i can make it in october of THIS year haha. Best wishes for 2021 Lucy. I was looking online a bit at prices of apartments for sale there but Typhoons worry me a bit. Would there be a place on the island that is safer in case a typhoon hits?
Hi Alain. Happy New Year to you. Cyclones can hit anywhere on the island. The East is more exposed I guess. Looks like quarantine is in place until September:(
4 out of 5 cyclones approach Mauritius from the East as they form in the middle of the Indian Ocean before travelling in a westerly or south westerly direction before weakening into tropical storms. The west is the more sheltered part of the island, though in the last 5 years no major cyclones have hit the island.
@@LucyLeheilleix yes i love them .they are mind blowing ,but 1 usually expect notification of your vids and hope to fine some underwater footage from your awsome trip around the island, thkx

Lovely video. How is the water depth for foiling? Is there a risk of hitting rock or reef?

The water depth can be problematic...in fact I touched the reef just today :) It's mainly advisable to go at high tide only.
Thank you 👍🇲🇺
Thank you too 👍
