I have a small trap. One room. Caught my first bird after 10 days of trying. ~20 to go. I’m not game to leave it in there to attract more. I worry it will escape. I suspect they were getting in and out early on as feed was disappearing. I bent the funnel to reduce the size. Make sure you have a stick across the cage as a perch, else they can wonder around the bottom and find the exit; that being said. My one isn’t using the perch.
Hi have you looked for local trapping groups in your area? There are quite a few local governments who have them along the east coast and also some volunteer organisations. The government really should be doing more about this but until then it's up to the community to try and keep the numbers down
@@suetheron4495 thanks for the suggestion my LGA doesn't have any "official" programs and the volunteer group has been inactive for a while now. I live in an apartment & don't have anywhere suitable to trap them so am limited to deterrent measures. I wish that I had thought of drumming up support during lockdowns when everyone was home and looking for projects.
Can I bury them in the garden?

Very useful video. Thanks. These horrible birds are a huge and disgusting problem where I live.
