- Step by step, let's make a delicious Ghormeh Sabzi together.
Suggestions:
I used dried lime flakes, but you can also pierce whole dried limes and add them to the stew or use ground dried lime.
I used canned fried herbs for Ghormeh Sabzi, so there's no need to fry the herbs with the meat or beforehand.
Serve the Ghormeh Sabzi hot, traditionally with Persian steamed rice.
Ingredients (4-6 People):
2 tbsp oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp black pepper
500 gr boneless veal shank, cut into chunks
1 cup pinto beans, soaked overnight and drained
1 can (about 400 grams) ghormeh herbs
veal bone (for extra flavor)
4 cups water (or enough to cover the ingredients)
3-4 dried limes (pierce them with a fork)
Salt to taste
