Holy crap I can hardly imagine how awesome it would be to unbox half that many fish -- talk about a Christmas -morning-like experience!!! So excited for my next order!!!
Dan, I love that you post this on youtube to keep your suppliers accountable and customers in the loop. It is so hard to find responsible fish retailers who don't accept the usual cruel shipping practices that can plague fish farms and some breeding operations. As an animal lover of all kinds, it makes me feel good to buy from somebody who actually cares about the welfare animals and not just their retail or ornamental value.
Such fun content, Dan. Seeing you going from that fish guy livestreaming from his basement to unboxing a myriad of fish in a state of the art warehouse bustling with employees has been a joy to watch. Thanks for bringing us along!
One thing I did notice on a recent shipment was that you wrap brown paper around the heat packs. So on unboxing they were cold to the touch but when I unwrapped them and exposed them to air they heated up. I know they respond to the air so not sure but I think attaching them to the lid like your unboxing may be the way to go. Just some feedback from a customer.
I call false advertising... Or something! All Dan's Fish are good lil fish. Saying this shipment is the good stuff is an affront to all the good fish that came before!! We must unite and stand up for the good fish everywhere!! 🤣 Thanks Dan and friendly fishmonger crew for all you guys do. You're an awesome crew! Keep up the great work!! ✌️
If you don’t perforate the box lid the packs don’t work. You end up using two to three times as many, and they don’t last as long. However, that hole was huge.
I feel like I'm playing BINGO with the callouts! :D Waiting for my shipment this week. SO excited! Now I'm going to have to order again? Ugh, always something new to want.
I feel like a kid on Christmas morning acclimating four fish that I transported 10 miles in the front seat of my car. I can't imagine receiving a thousand fish that have passports. 🤣🤣
@@RoyalMetal9 Yup before winter Dan was shipping to Canada. But recent times because of the cold weather and some issues they stopped. Hopefully they will ship in the spring again.
You mentioned for example where those platy came from at the beginning, do you mention that on the website for each fish? This is an important question for me personally. Thanks 😊
Always have my fingers crossed for your German shipments. There's a few cory species that only they really breed, (cochui, benattii). Was watching my Limia Perugiae (BdC) I got from you in December while I listened to this vid. Dominant male is displaying for my females, subdominant is practicing on the rest of my fish. Wonderfully pretty little fish. Wish they flared that dorsal fin sail and revealed the bright blue flash on your vids. I had no idea how pretty these would look when I purchased them. Pygmy Swordtail pair is still going strong, too.
Living in Spain I get many of my fish from Aquarium Glasser in Germany. They have excellent fish and wide variety. I can’t imagine shipping to the US though. Lol
Those holes in the styro are necessary to keep heat packs activated. The heat pack needs oxygen to burn. If you seal the box tight your heat pack will arrive not activated and box will be just as there was not any heat pack at all. I have routinely receive packing like that. Most of the time fish lived. They do not do that bad in low temps. Metabolism is really slow so water quality by excretion is reduced. In may water in the lake was so cold that divers were out of water within thirty minutes. Lake Malawi. Consequently I put the heat pack in my pocket and i got warm for what ever the heat pack was designed to go for. Cory is difficult fish to ship. For un known reason they almost instantly pollute their water. I would pack the fish and did not sent them anywhere. Just checked water quality within 4 hors increments. Already in 4 hours water had a milky color and by next day it was pretty terrible. Nothing to be done about it. Monitoring water within transit is pointless. I was shipping fish from the lake Malawi. In our house on the shore was 96. In London where they were transferred to another flight to Germany was snow on the ground. By7 the time they arrived to germany they were pretty cold. but alive. We never lost fish because they were cold even after days after arrival. Point being here is that heat packs cannot be used while your starting temps is nineties. None of or shipment would not past Dans testing.
Dan you know that Nematolebias whitei is now illegal to own. All killifish from Brazil are banned to USA. Some hobbyist in USA have been visited from officials.
great show. only a very small, off the table comment. As a show host, your look is also important. Consult with a specialist in this aspect, to make you superstar like good looking and rich looking. That will further boost the views.
would love to buy those panda cori...ADORABLE!
They are the cutest.

We appreciate it...thanks!

Hawaiian Variatus and bleeeinf heart platys to be up! Been waiting for those for awhile! Yay!
Bleeding Hearts are up, but Jonny opted to call them "Coral Tiger". We are still working on the Hawaiian Variatus...hopefully they will be ready soon.
@@DansFish just sprinted to the site!
Thanks for teaching the wholesaler. We will all benefit in some way.
Nice behind the scenes video. I enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing.

Very awesome video amazing unboxing I'm so sorry for your losses, but great 👍🏾 pickups
Thanks! Losses are never fun, but were working with our suppliers and constantly improving. Lots less losses now than a year ago.

At 13:40, are those banded sunfish (enneacanthus obesus) or blackbanded sunfish (enneacanthus chaetodon)?
I’ve been looking for those for ages!!

Those boxes contained as much dopamine as a box of chocolate! Thanks! 😍😍🤩
It’s beginning to feel like Xmas again. Nice work Dan. Keep it up
Love your videos Dan, yourself and Aquarium Co-Op inspired me to create my own channel and create fish related content thank you 🙏
I hope you will be shipping to Canada again soon once the weather warms up. Still looking for those blue flames!!
He ships to Canada? I’m definitely looking into that.

Love seeing these. Hopefully ya'll get in some cool African non-rift lake stock again sometime. Hemichromis fasciatus would be a dream!
Yeah it looks like your employee is feeling better. That’s good to know. Thanks for the fish update
I'm wanting some of the pineapple swords!! YAY!

Edit: they were in the literal next bag he held up!!!
I’m surprised that you got your native US fish from Europe and not from hobbyist in Florida
👍🏻👍🏻
THANK YOU FOR BUYING FISH FROM ISRAEL AND SUPPORTING ISRAEL AQUARIUM FISH MARKET :)

the fish that come from Israel, do they have special dietary requirements?
Kosher flakes maybe?

As of now, your look like my classmate's Dad, friendly but not attracting attentions.
