Good vid! I was able to insert a small screw into the plastic valve block and just pull it out without taking the whole marker apart. Just remove the orange top and remove the brass plug with charge indicator. Took about 15 minutes. There is also an oring for the valve block that needs to be removed. Pretty easy! 👍
Actually your video gave me the push i needed to get one and modify it. I figure with this marker if you ever need it to deter a threat you probably wont get enough time to reload it quickly so you might as well get the most juice out of it with the first 4 rounds. I am using 3.7g nylon/steel center riotballs. They dont seem to jam in my other hdp 50 👍
@@ppwqwuorrerewerii Yes there is no tactical reload with the compact. Four and run. Have you been able to chrono those 3.7g balls. A few have mention these and the weight i think is close to ideal.
Unfortunately i dont have a chrono. But my regular hdp 50 modded with a power kit blows right through 15/32 plywood @ 15'. They dont jam like the rubber steel balls do either. I think they are the perfect ammo for the hdp markers. Just ordered some more from less- lethal.
@@ppwqwuorrerewerii That is my experience. With the valve block removed and shooting metal ball bearing rounds these markers are a very very good alternative to, e.g. a 9mm. And actually, while I have the option to use these hopped-up markers or 9mm, take it from me, after the dust settles you are going to be relieved you used less-than-lethal instead of a 9mm + weapon. IOW, it is a lot less dangerous to shoot a round that WILL NOT penetrate a shared wall that abuts your residence from a neighbor's bedroom where perhaps children are sleeping. (A few of those tragedies have made the news here over the past months. An errant firearm round lodging near a next door neighbor's baby crib!)

I am not a fan of the tiny screws with my history of stripping them out but it wasnt too bad. I am going to try with the co2 restrictor in place today if it will thread in just to see what happens. Maybe it can make the 4 shots more consistent without hurting overall fps.

I need someone to 3D model a better looking outer shell...it adds unnecessary bulk to the marker as the inside unit (housing, barrel and co2 canister tube) is pretty small and narrow. Maybe a shell that looks like a G43x or the new Sig P365x macro. Would also make it easier to carry. Just a thought.....
I have been keeping an eye out for sometime something that could be rebodied easily. I agree while still smaller then most markers it could be smaller.
Thats about it for shots. 6 good one and 2 on the slower side. All the Umarex behave similarly when the block is removed its just you only have 8g co2.

I've always wished it was possible to get more out of the umarex .43 replica like the new Gen 5 Glock. Think there's any hope for those to be modified? I'm guessing they would need to be well over 600fps to be effective at .43
The initial cost for the 43cal pistols is what is limiting its audience. You wouldnt be wrong about over 600fps and being only 43cal the risk of penetration at those speeds might negate the term LL.

This was an earlier video when i was first introduced to the Umarex brand and i made it more difficult then it had to be. You can find a woods screw to thread into the block through the brass cap and yank on it like a dent puller or alternatively you can completely open the marker remove the bolt and knock it out from the front with a screwdriver that fits down the front power tube.
Good question. I did extensive testing with a shortened pin with my larger 68 caliber markers and saw absolutely zero gain. In fact the only thing i gained was wasted air down the magwell. I am betting that it would have the same results in the Umarex 50cal line up so i didnt waste my time or money.
