"Learning how to fall teaches you how to land and learning to land gives you the courage to jump higher"

I feel inspired by Yeoh's speech, grateful for you Michelle (if you read this), and lucky to you all who attended the graduation day. Although I'm not Harvard's student/alumni,, these will encourage us to not give up in life and have faith ♥

She's the real deal. I've followed her since I was a kid. This girl fought thru everything. Back in the day in Hong Kong, not only that she's a woman, she's also a foreigner. Imagine how hard it was for someone like her who tried to make it in Hong Kong that was once called Hollywood of the East. Chinese culture at times was very male oriented even chinese actresses were having a hard time getting a hard core action roll let alone a Malaysian. When I heard that she'd be a bond girl, I was thinking "Wow, Michelle finally comes to Hollywood just like Jackie Chan now". After that, it blew my mind when I heard Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon became the best foreign movie of the year. I know she always keeps moving forward with her career but to finally become "The best actress" who won the "actual" Oscar? You've come a very very long way girl
Smart, tough and beautiful, this woman has it all.

Don‘t let the labels become a burden, fly high at your free will, and hit the road with peers.(不要让学校名声成为你的累赘,自由飞翔,与朋伴一起上阵。)"
    1. When falling, the tendency is to tighten up, to brace for impact. But in truth, the safest thing one can do is remain calm, even curious, about the shifting world around you.
    2. Learning how to fall teaches you how to land. And learning to land gives you the courage to jump higher.
而杨紫琼说得真的很棒,她给了所有毕业生三条建议:Stay Loose(保持松弛)、Know Your Limits(知晓你的极限)、Find Your People(找到你的同伴)。
Stay loose, be smart, and go with love… and then leap. And then leap again. And then leap again.

First and foremost, I want to congratulate Michelle for all her successes and upcoming ones. The video was a wonderful speech that was truly engaging.
As a Malaysian (surnamed Yeoh as well), I too have an eeriely similar path with Michelle. I too had a spinal injury (at 21) after graduating from University which lead to an operation and a deferment of my barschool in UK. My girlfriend at the time broke up with me as our planned future in London together seemed impossible with me recuperating from the surgery and she returning to Hong Kong after her Masters. My future seemed painful and bleak.
Lemons were made into lemonade and I went to Beijing for 1 year and learnt how to speak Mandarin fluently. I made wonderful friends in my course and saw a brand new way of life.
After finishing my Mandarin course, I continued barschool in UK and was admitted as a barrister in UK. I then worked in Malaysia and Singapore for a few years.
Now, I am a partner in a lawfirm in Hong Kong, qualified in 3 jurisdictions (UK, Msia and HK) and married to the same girlfriend (we actually had a LDR for 6 years before I took the leap in HK).
Finally, I just hope Harvard Law School can forward my congratulations to Michelle. Thank you for making the Yeoh name proud.

Understanding what you can’t do is pretty important too, this works on two levels both internally and externally. Internally, knowing your limits keeps you humble, motivated, and focus on the goal to point your finger toward. Externally, knowing the limits set for you by others gives you a place to point a different finger. In other words, limitations set by yourself give you boundaries to respect, but limitations set by others give you boundaries to bust through." So inspired by her speech.

Michelle Yeoh has always been a classy lady. She captured the screen and filmdom audience with grace. She is a versatile actress...she can play any role, drama, action or high profile character. I saw her dressed up in one of the award ceremonies and I can honestly say that whoever made her gown showcased her elegance, her simplicity and her classic beauty.
Listening to her spontaneous speech made me admire her more, because she is a woman of substance. Her inner beauty outshines her looks and her outlook in life is focused and determined, weighing her own limitations and capabilities. Very inspiring woman.

Truly engaging and supportive without the slightest form of ego. I felt the embodiment of hardship and tenacity through her sharing of her experiences but the difficult part is to not make it about you and to share it empathetically with such poise and encouragement. The world is filled with too much fear, hate and insecurities, her words came across as pragmatic but positive. Her words gave me hope and courage in the purposes I am pursuing, and even if I am in the same industry as hers (which I am not), I feel the encouragement to have larger goals and be open to work with like-minded people to make greater impact. She might think her voice is little, out of humility, but I could not think of more impactful words one can receive upon embarking on a new phase in life. Thank you and stay safe.

Having Michelle Yeoh to deliver the speech may represent a deeper meaning as to the "equality" in the legal and the judicial communities for "Pro Se" litigants and Civil Gideon Right to Counsel. It is the right thing to do for Harvard Law School to lead the way.

Michelle is such an inspiration. She definitely is a perfect role model of resilience, courage, flexibility, and true talent. As someone who is working hard on mastering the language English and trying to discover the full potential through the a career in a foreign country as an immigrant, I admire her in so many ways. Love her eloquent, humorous, and inspiring speech! Being able to speak like her with confidence and unique charming style is my goal, but I am open to any detours and falls that will be in my way.

That was one of the best off-the-cuff no teleprompter speech ever! Like yourself, I am from your same hometown of Ipoh, Malaysia and I lived in Kampar Road, not a mile away from your family home. If you want to success in any thing this is the three steps that you should follow: (1) Stay loose, (2) Know your limit, and (3) find your people. First you do not attached to anything. It is the way of opening new path, new doors, a new world. You have expectations, but you are ready to leave, no stress. Second, you know the limit, So that, you do not go beyond the limit. Lastly, the success is work of combination. You know the path, you have loved ones to help. your effort and the help of others, keep moving, Finally, you can reach the top of the mountain.
Thank you for your wonderful thoughts.
