Bravo GM for making an OEM sidestep that hugs the rocker panels and doesn’t hang down 3 inches killing ground clearance, looks great !
The reason they never really do that is because it defeats the purpose of a side step.
This truck is gorgeous. The interior I think it's the nicest of all truck makers. I'll probably be hanging my elevation for this one, but with the 6 foot bed.

Thanks for this video! I have never ordered a color without seeing it first but I love a sharp blue and after this video I ordered my AT4X in the dynamic metallic blue. Man you were right! That color just pops! Came in today and I love it! Just wanted to thank you for posting this or I would have likely ordered good old Onyx Black!
The blue looks insane! I ordered mine in the desert sand with the 6.2L v8, but that blue does look incredible with the grille and the red accents on the front. Just a liiitle bright for me!

I have the 6.2 in my 22 limited Denali. Enjoy stopping every 4 days to fill up and I grama the peddle.

Hey Brian, maybe one day you could go over dealer installed options...? As an example - I'm seeing an extra cost under seat storage but there's this standard equipment one... so what's the difference? Stuff like that. Any way great vid and that color pops - you are one of the best in the business.

My only gripe about this interior…the piano black finish around the HVAC controls 🙄 it will be dusty 24/7 and get scratched unless you wear gloves.
The Blue is Freaking Amazing!!
Although I can't stand these 20" wheels on an Off-Road focused Truck, the Black 18" wheels all the way and you get a better Tire with the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT... I got over 50,000 miles out of my Duratracs.
My elevation was built and on the way!! Desert sand is the best new color in my opinion.

One discovery on mine. Any of the square apps/functions can be moved to the far left of screen and converted to a circle menu item. So far I use the Maps and camera the most. Real nice to make those easily accessible.
Mines specked just like this one except I have the 18” duratrac tires.
Wow the sticker fuel economy stated is huge between the two tire choices.
Mine 20 city 21 combined 23 Highway
(Actual 22 city 24.5 combined 27 Hwy)
Where as the glacier blue 20” all terrain shows 22 city 24 combined 26 hwy.
Like the SLT Better with a 5.3 V8, You always do a great job in showing the new truck!
I ordered mine last week with all the same options except the technology package (didn’t feel like I needed HUD). Two questions for you.
1) If you don’t get the technology package is the rear view mirror still auto dimming? I couldn’t get an answer from my dealer
2) I noticed you didn’t have rear fender wheel well liners? Does GM seriously not equip this on a $70K truck? If not I guess I’m calling my dealer back and adding that
Hey Seamus, rear wheelhouse liners (RPO code B1J) were previously unavailable to order on select configurations due to a supplier issue. Affected models produced between March 21st and April 7th were built without rear wheelhouse liners.
Oh dear. I feel a bit silly. Coming from the UK , I thought it was going to be a new Ford Sierra.

Almost 70 thousand….. Sure wish they made affordable trucks! It’s ridiculous the amount of money they think these things are worth! Not to mention the dealers adding BS cost on top of ridiculous pricing!
What is the difference in color on the onyx black and ebony twilight metallic? On my phone they both look black. With the blue color, it is a nice blue but im not a fan of blue on vehicles.

I love how you just cruise right over those credits on the sticker. Those credits are massive. That’s the exact reason why I refuse to buy this truck right now. The money that GM is giving for the credits on the options that they cannot provide, is far less than the time it will take me to actually get those installed once the chips are available. Once I found this out, I actually canceled my reservation and took the hundred dollar loss. The fact that they’re trying to delete options just to sell vehicles is ridiculous. I’m all for everybody who wants to get the newest and greatest truck, but I’m not gonna put my money on something that’s not complete, because I don’t trust them. It’s ridiculous that they believe that some of those options are worth the price that they’re discounting the car. I was told that I had to pay $2000 over MSRP just to buy my ordered sierra. You guys just keep posting this content, and people keep going to the dealership and getting screwed. Sorry not sorry.
Reservation is refundable. The credits aren't designed to make up for the cost of the uninstalled options.

When I leased a 2022 Sierra 1500 elevation they made us sign a few papers and said that they’ll call us when the chip becomes available to install so Idk wym by credit

Great video but why no discussion about credit’s for missing items? First one I’ve seen with the rear wheel liners missing, based on the credit at $140, that means they are not installing them once they get stock, unlike the missing chips for seats for example? A big plus you pointed out, no more having to hit the auto stop every time, when did they update that? Thanks.
I’m curious about this as well my refreshed resets every time the ignition cycles (get out, return) on. Maybe I need to hold it down longer?

I was just informed by my dealer that the AT4X will be delivered to me minus the park assist ( that beeps when you get too close to something) and the performance exhaust. I am being told it will be available sometime this summer and will be added on. Any thoughts?
Want to know the difference in power between 6.2 and 3.0 diesel - seat of pants. Can’t get a veh to compare engines. Dealers know little. Do you know what’s in packages across models? Can you get seats without Kalahari orange inserts? Etc.

Looking to get a GMC with NHT max trailering and Supercruise. From the two visits I have made to dealerships you can’t get Supercruise on anything other than AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate and none of those trim levels can you get NHT max trailering package. I can only get NHT on Elevation or SLT trims. Can you confirm this is the case? If so I guess Supercruise with max trailering is currently not a combo available. Thanks.
Don't like the polished Elevation Wheels or Tires, so they gotta be replaced, and the front license plate has to go also. Otherwise looks good.
does the rear view mirror camera get watery sometimes? I know when you use the reverse camera for backing up and it rains, the camera is blurry. Have you seen the same thing for the rear cameras on the 3rd tail light?

Been noticing on a lot of the videos of the at4 and at4x that one of the cameras pointed at the tires is super grainy compared to all the other cameras on the truck. When you were showing the cameras you showed it but then quickly changed it….
It’s at 11:48 it’s the rear tire cameras that are super grainy! Not sure if it’s the camera quality or software but GM needs to address that!
@@nabatron21 I’d assume the distance of the rear wheel from camera? One thing I’ve noticed in the HUD options. I can select that the speed limit sign be removed from the HUD. But returns on next time I return. (On the dash the speed sign says off). Maybe a future over air update to fix both issues 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
@@4961Studebaker the picture looks very low res and grainy! Unless GM ran out of hi res cameras and just put low res ones in but on my wife’s yukon at4 it’s clear in every camera view

Love the color! I'm interested in knowing what your engine choice would be between the 3.0L Duramax and the 6.2L V8? My use case is a daily driver with some towing (once a month at best). In the Atlanta area diesel cost is approximately $1.15 per gal more expensive than gas. If you calculate fuel cost based on these numbers, the avg MPG of each engine and 18K per year, the monthly savings for the Duramax is insignificant (but maybe the Duramax can out perform the stated MPG ratings?). Unfortunately it is difficult to get drive time with each so I'm very interested in your comments, impressions and engine of choice.
I personally love the 3.0l, and lots of people are getting higher MPG than what is advertised. I really think it's going to come down to personal preference when it comes to how they drive, but you can't really go wrong either way. I can tell you that right now the demand for the 3.0 is insane, GM can't build them fast enough!
@@BrianMello Thanks for the input. After comparing hp and torque curves of the 3.0L Duramax vs. the 6.2L V8, the Duramax has the same hp at approximately 3,000 rpm. Below 3,000 rpm the Duramax has higher hp (yes hp… also higher torque). I realize the actual operating rpm of the motors could be different due to different tuning/shift points (maybe?). But it at least this gives some comfort the 3.0L will provide some nice performance. I have a 2007 Avalanche with the 5.3L and it makes me cringe when the r's get up there (not a good time to look at the instantaneous mpg info). Maybe the diesel will help me change to driving style to more wife approved level. The 3.0L hp and torque curves look better than the modern 5.3L V8 and I'm sure lots better than the 2007 motor and trans. Too bad you're not in the Atlanta area or I would drop by and discuss order details. Thanks again.
Just wanted to chime in to add my perspective on this one. I have a 6.2L (LT1) in my C7 Corvette and absolutely love the engine. Tons of power and torque, runs like a scalded dog, and sounds amazing so I have tons of respect for the engine. With that said, I've been wanting a 1500 Chevy/GMC with a diesel primarily for the fuel mileage because I wanted a 1500 daily driver for my long daily commute (40 miles each way). I was a bit bummed when Ford and Ram came out with theirs and there was still no GM offering. Then I heard the news that a diesel was going to be offered in the GM 1500s and I started getting excited. When I learned that it was going to be an inline 6, I knew that I wanted one because I absolutely love the sound of a straight 6 diesel as I was fortunate to spend time with my dad riding in his semitrucks that had 3406 CATS and KT Cummins. I picked up a 2021 Sierra Denali 1500 with the 3.0 back in July last year and absolutely love it. It is not a race-truck but is a fantastic cruiser. The engine is so well balanced, super quiet (almost too quiet at times), and fuel efficient that it makes it a dream to drive down the highway. The truck also rides better than anything that I have ridden. I have absolutely no regrets on the 3.0. There for a while they quit making them with the 3.0 and I was a little worried that they were going to pull the plug on them like Ford did and possibly RAM so I'm glad that they are continuing to offer it and glad to see that there is a high demand for it in hopes that it is here to stay as if I ever have to replace my current truck, I will definitely want the 3.0 again. I just can't say enough good things about it. With that said, it's not the engine for everybody. Some don't want to part with the V8 rumble and high horsepower that the 6.2 offers and I get it, but for me the 3.0 checks all of the boxes. If I want to go fast, I take the Corvette for a spin...

When you order them do you get the loan right away and have to pay for the truck when you don't drive it? I never bought new only used.

Past vehicles once you turn the headlights on manually driver has full control of the dash brightness
Refreshed trucks : during a gloomy morning the dash is way to bright for the conditions. Or you have tinted the front side windows. The new dash is tied directly into the daylight sensor on top of the dash.
Yes you can select Day:Night:Auto within the new screen to alter the brightness but this turns the maps to a dark color during the day
Yes there are dash brightness buttons but these ONLY work once the sensor deems it dusk/night. Driver can’t even manually turn the trucks lights on to override the sensor and adjust dash brightness. Everything is tied to the ambient light sensor.

The main complaint I keep seeing about the GMC trucks are the seats... are they really that bad/uncomfortable?
I had a 19 denali and they were terrible. I've heard these seats are better from reviews on by asking on forums from owners of the new refresh version, but haven't sat in them personally yet, so take with a grain of salt.
I'm kinda torn on this one. I really like that diesel. But for the price I'm leaning toward a ZR2 being a better choice over this. 6.2 to 6.2 I'd take a ZR2 any day.

Hey Brian, in your video you mention that auto stop/start will remain off when it is turned off. I have a 2022 refreshed Sierra Elevation and my auto stop/start is enabled every time I start the vehicle. Is this a software update? Is there something else that has to be done to permanently disable it? How do I get it to stay off?
I'll have to look into it, the truck I drove 100% the auto stop stayed off even after getting out of the truck. It was one of the first thinks myself and one of my sales reps noticed when we drove it.....or we're both crazy. I'll double check at the dealership on Monday!

Best guess is about 8800 w/o tow package as I’m sure you know each one is different depending on options. Truck weighs about 5770~
I would trade my 2020 AT4 Dmax CarbonPro in on a new AT4/X … IF they would have offered the 3.0 and the carbon bed on the X. Looks like I’ll just be staying in the 2020 a bit longer.
Quite a few people are stocking with the AT4 over the X due to the 3.0l availability....it's a bit odd GM didn't keep it as an option for the X.
Is there a elevated idle feature on my 21 at4 3.0 carbon pro? I cant find it.

True. Sport does not exist in refreshed, doesn’t even show as you twist the dial.

Friend of mine told me the new small diesel is under powered and weak. Junk.
Everyone I have spoken to who has the 3.0L loves it....quick search online and you'll find the same thing. It's currently the most requested engine option at the dealership.
@@BrianMello it doesn't stand up to a 6.6 duramax. Why cut your nose off GM. You buy a diesel in today's market to haul and pull without worry. Don't put an under powered engine in a large truck and expect performance.

Awesome truck but ridiculous price. These prices are outrageous. Enough people stop buying these overpriced vehicles and it will force them to lower the prices to realist ranges.
Unfortunately Alan, the demand just seems to be getting higher and higher so I don't think we'll see any significant price decreases any time soon. When I bought my first Sierra All-Terrain in 2014 it was 46k......now that same truck is 60+
@@BrianMello I understand but it eventually will become buyers will eventually get tired of increasing prices that are not near proportional to wage increases. I’ve looked at old data from 1990 to present and the vehicle prices have increased about 30% above wage increases and it’s getting worse. How the industry has “helped” the buyer is financing longer terms but that means one is paying for a vehicle that will take 7 to 10 years to pay off and not have much value at that time.
I’m in between this and a trail boss Chevy 🫠
