- Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by. In this video, I showcase my newly acquired Saturn ZK380 Inflatable Kaboat, and what I a boat it is. 2 year ago, I got to try out the ZK430 and I fell in love with it, but at the time I had purchased the Saturn BB290 and did not wanted to own 2 of them. Now that I have sold the BB290, I needed another to replace it, and Boatstogo told me that this model was on the way here to the US. I placed my order way in advance lol. Hope everyone enjoys this video.

The greatest part of your reviews is your enthusiasm... thank you!
I appreciate that! Thank you 8-)
Motor sounds real good, not too loud. I could hear you talking and you don't have to yell loudly. Very nice. Now I want a Tohatsu 9.8 hp!
Haha! I like Tohatsus, best bang for your dollar.
@@ErickMartinSucre totally agree with you! It is by far cheapest compared to other brand names and it has to offer alot for money spent on..
Can't wait for your speed test. I am so curious.
me too!
Awesome dude. Enjoy your videos. Like your positive attitude. 👍😎
😁😁😁😁
That's a sweet looking little inflatable boat!! Great video as well too Erick!
Thank you 😊
Love your enthusiasm as always too my friend!!
I love these boat models.
Love that it worked out for you! I was looking hard at the Saturn's but went with a 13 foot Boston whaler. It holds crab traps and little boys with fish hooks at a higher level of confidence. I still I may go inflatable at some point
Yes! I can finally get the most out of my 9.8 Tohatsu. You could always get an inflatable and switch between the 2. I could not decide between a Kaboat and a dinghy, so I got both lol. The ZK380 is a kaboat, but it's more dinghy than kaboat.
That boat fits you much better, Haute Couture🤩😎
It's big, and at the same time, it isn't. Love these models, and thanks for watching!
How many times have I forgotten to raise my wheels, and wondering why I couldn't get to plane lol
Hahahaha!! That has happened to me at least 3 times. Happens to all of us.
LMAO. I did that today. Looked back and had seaweed tail. I thought it felt sluggish.
Haha! Happens to all of us
Great video Eric. Love the drone shots from above. Very proffesional
Thats a real cool little boar. Did you ever confirm your top speed? Looked like you were moving good. Looking forward to the ancelote key video.
Hehe! I have good news regarding the speed, and the one thing at fault here was my old BB290's design.
Oh this what you told me from another video...👍... wow not bad not bad ... at all Erick...
I like this model a lot. Planning on keeping it for a goof while.
I get 21mph with the same motor and SD330. Now I'm playing with the transom height.
Nice! I am hopeful now
Thanks for all the vids! All these little boats have some compromises, do you feel this size is the best overall? Safety, motor size, speed, ease of assembly, people capacity?
For me who rides solo for most of the time is perfect, and I have space for one more person. I like this model because is not too heavy, but can handle a 10hp motor, and has a nice bullet shape.
keep up the good videos, learned a lots!! I may have a dumb question, but could you explain or make a video of how you actually refill the gasoline on your outboard motor? Do you just go to the local gasoline station and fill up the tank and take it with you? do you always carry and refill an extra tank? any smart suggestions?
I'll be happy to explain, that's not a dumb question at all. This motor uses an external gas tank that carries 3 gallons of gas. There is a fuel line that connects from the tank to the motor, and it has a little bulb in the middle that you squeeze to get it primed. I usually get about 40 miles in the water, but only do about 20 miles in the water on my usual island camping trips. I always end up with half a tank left by the end of the trip. Most islands here in Florida are like 4, maybe 6 miles away at most.
nice job....do you have a video on how to install bimini top? thanks
I do not, but I have one. Never opened it lol
please do one...there's no good video on bimini installation for an inflatable boat!
@@hkvanx I'm gonna have to then. I'll do my best to squeeze it on my schedule soon.
Erick I'm looking at Oru inlet kayak .. will you able to review one..???
I won't lie to you, I don't do so well in Kayaks. I am what you would call, balance challanged lol. This is the reason why I stick with inflatables. They have bladders that keep my fat butt in place.
Erick great video!!! how do you measure your speed??? can you explain us?
Not yet, because I am going to do a speed test video soon of the 9.8, but it did well, that much I can say.
But I use a speedometer app on my phone. You can find quite a few for free on the app store of your phone
Could you do a video on Bimini Top installation, break down, and how it would fit inside a car?
I may be able to. I have one in the box but never used it.
Where did the wheels come from on the back of the boat? in one part of the video, they're not there and in another part, they are. FYI: that Tohatsu 9.8 you got on there costs $2200 brand new. Ouch!
I sold the Tohatsu and got myself a Hangkai 12hp. Those are transom wheels.
Eric I just purchase the Kaboat today. Do you think a Honda four stroke 5 hp good for it?
Yeah, it should be ok. I recently installed some planing tabs to it that make the boat catch plane quicker.
I heard you saying something about splashing. I solved mine raising the motor on the transom.
Yeah, it was super choppy and I was all over the place.
Great job I’m buying this boat. What size cushion/storage bag?
It's a red Aleko. I think there is only one size let me check
amzn.to/2WCQc6p This one is the 250, but the 320 basically fits most standard inflatables.
Nice man
Thank you Juice
What was the outcome of why you couldn't get the speed you expected a few videos back or will there be another video. I may have missed it
The Saturn BB290 was not designed to go over 16mph. Square bow, 9.6 feet long, just would not go past those speed. I got 18 mph in choppy waters, and plan on making a video of it next week if possible
Love the video ! Me and my dad are toying with the Idea of going halves on a bigger boat with air deck but we also like fiberglass not sure if it is worth 3 times the price and a trailer to tow it ?
Hmm, well, the boat weights around 100 pounds, and so does a 10hp outboard. If you and your dad can handle that, and you have a car that can fit all the stuff, you won't need a trailer or fiber glass boat.
@@ErickMartinSucre yes we are tempted by the light weight and I'm sure it would fit in are Nissan Leaf (don't judge lol) but all the Life Gard and Sea rescue people use fiberglass and we would like to go out in some existing levels of wind maybe 3 to 4 feet swells ?
@@oliverskinner8962 The inflatable can handle 3-4 feet swells, I've done it in Tampa bay channel, but you won't go fast
@@ErickMartinSucre okay thanks 👍
@@oliverskinner8962 Always a pleasure 8-)
Hi Erick have you ever used the Saturn HD fishing boat? I would like to get a boat for off shore fishing and would like to hear your thoughts.
I personally haven't but have a few people I know who do and they like it. It is a heavy-duty boat since it weighs about 140 pounds or so. My ZK380 Kaboat is not even 100 pounds. It comes with extra layers for protection. As long as you can handle the weight of it you'll be fine.
@@ErickMartinSucre thank you
Nice video erick, would you recommend this boat or the ck430 for fishing the flats in the everglades or can you recommend one .
Thanks
Thank you. I'll be right back with your answer. Going to check that model since I have not tried it yet
Oh wait, you mean the ZK430, duh. Sorry, just noticed the typo. Well, the ZK380 is great for 2 people, while the 430 is great for 3 people.
Depending how many people you plan on bringing, you may need the 380 or the 430. If you're like me who travels mostly by himself, get the 380
Thanks for that , but are the pontoons on the side made of a strong or sturdy canvas or pvc . It's mainly for fishing ,I know some of these rafts are tough enough in case you scrape it with a hook.

HI Erick,
What's your favorite boat so far ?
I own both the ZK380 and the SK385XL kaboats. I love the SK385XL, big bladders, easy to deploy and carry, tye ZK380 comes 2nd.
Wow Erick this boat is nice... so.... ummm I'm thinking save money now or what..????...🤪.... I think I want this one again... so I get 2.... a SK 385xl and this... this it...can I run this with 6hp..???
Yes, they run well with a 6hp. Funny enought, I now own both this and the SK385XL.
You should try a tiller extension and get your weight a little farther forward. You can make one by cutting a slit in a piece of pvc pipe that fits over the tiller and secure with a hose clamp. See if you like it then buy a commercially made one. I use one when by myself and like it. Also play with tilt pin settings/motor angle
I think I may try the #1 pin.
@@ErickMartinSucre depends on water conditions, load, and load distribution
@@upspirate That is true
I bought a motor tiller extension handle from eBay that has a handy clamp. Works well and cheap too.
That would be handy, especially if I put an adjustable seat
Does it turn well with those wheel pillars? I mean the motor may hit them when u turn.
So far, only when taking sharp turns.
Hi Eric. What's the motor trim setting in this review? I got a Saturn ZK430 paired with a 20hp Tohatsu motor and try to figure out the right trim setting.
I currently have it on the 2nd slot
I may try the first slot and see if it helps it get into plane quicker. Although, if I make all of my gear to the front, it will get into plane quicker
@@ErickMartinSucre Thanks for your quick response!
@@xing2365 My pleasure. I'm always active here on RUclips.
its a fast set up.. i have this boat but in 11 foot and a 9.9 tohatsu ... got it because of you lol its all your fault 🤣
Hahahaha! I know I know. I honestly love this model line up, and finally I get to own one. I was thinking, by the time ot comes to replacing it, I may just get another one of these, maybe the ZK430. That being said, it may be in 3-4 years since these are heat welded and last longer.
how you control your drone when you driving ?
The drone has some autonomous features that when activated, they just follow you as long as there are no obstacles. I use a DJI Mavic Air 2
@@ErickMartinSucre wow impressif !
Erick , between sd365 and zk380 with one is better, thank you
These 2 are very close, however, if you plan to have more than 2 passengers, the SD365 will do a better job, if only 2 passengers or less, the ZK380 is better.
Hey bro✌.. have u ever heard of and if so what are your thoughts on motor upgrades?...i heard the only difference between a 9.8 and 15hp is the carb jet size ..and that its also possible to upgrade by simply changing the carb on a 9.8 to increase HP to 15
The 9.9's yes, the 9.8 cannot upgraded. 9.8 has a smaller displacement than the 9.9
@@ErickMartinSucre o I see...i been looking at getting a Nissan which I hear is identical to the Tohatsu..but I might go with the Honda which has the 9.9 model just in case I can upgrade carb
Hondas are good models. I think the new ones may be fuel injection
@@ErickMartinSucre Japanese motors are the best 👍👍✌
I agree! I myself will stick with Tohatsu.
How long does the shipping take?
Dependsnof availability. If it's in stock, expect it to be there within a week. I had to wait about 1 month to get mine when it was available for pre-order.
So 18mph?
I could have reached 20 if it wasn't choppy. Yes, it did do 18.
Great video but PLEASE start attaching your engine cut out cord to yourself. If you go overboard your boat will just keep powering away from you and it will be a long swim home! Also please fasten that buoyancy aid from the start. Be safe! Great enthusiasm and review though 👍
I always put the shutoff cord, but take it out once I stop and film.
...15 inch, very thick air deck floor..
Yeah, it's like 3 inches thick when fully inflated
You are an instigator! I'm shopping again and it's all your fault! 😝
Hahahaha! Sorry, not sorry. This is the 6th inflatable I have owned so far. #1 Coleman Rio, # 2 Saturn SK396, #3 Saturn SD380, #4 Saturn BB290, #5 Saturn SK385XL, and lastly, #6 Saturn ZK380. The last 2 I currently own, and plan on keeping for a few years at least.
@@ErickMartinSucre I'm on my 3rd. My 4th will be a Kaboat. In going to upgrade to a 6hp. I'm not a speed demon like you! 6 hp will be plenty fast enough for me.
The main reason why I got me the 9.8hp, is because I began to do a few outings with other inflatable boat users, and they had like 15hp motors and I was being left behind.
@@ErickMartinSucre Totally understandable.
