I don’t think I have a sterile variety but wow! What an amazing plant it has become. It is growing in full Phx AZ sun in 120*F heat. It needs water every day but it is still growing and shooting out flowers here in the middle of summer! And it’s at least 10 feet high!
Trying to research when to chop and drop. I’m thinking maybe October when we no longer have 100*F days!
Thanks so much for your video! I’m enjoying learning about this amazing plant.

Thanks for the video! I grow and use a lot of Mexican sunflower. My feeling is why go through all the trouble of making compost tea when the leaves and soft upper stems break down so fast when you just chop and drop them around your fruit trees? I separate the woody stems and place them around the Mexican sunflower as a mulch.

Looks like a great system you have. Thank you for sharing. Do you sell the stalks with nugs?
