PERFECT video. Watched 3 or 4 before I found this one but it explained everything I needed it to. THANK YOU!!! Now I can finally service MY first fishing rod (from 30+ years ago) for my 3 yr old son and teach him how to fish 🙂
Glad to hear it! You're welcome and thanks for watching! Hope your son enjoys it for a LONG while and catches MANY fish with it. Spread the word about the channel.
great call on the drag wheel I just did my sons about 3 weeks ago it had been sitting for over 25 years and I broke one of the pieces you squeegee together to get the drag wheel of. so ebay I went to get a parts I needed and now it looks and works like new. Zebco spincast reels are super easy to work on that is why I but them and use them.
That took me back to my youth. I used a Johnson Skipper Spin caster for a while way back in time. The word on the street back then was the Johnson was a step up from the Zebco. 😆
Zebco's - the reel I grew up with as a kid in Minnesota, Ohio and New York. But when I moved to South Florida in 1967 at age 12 - within four months, snook, jacks, bluefish, mackerel and a tarpon or two made a quick destruction of my three Zebco's. That is when I came into a well used DAM Quick 330 - which to this day are my favorite reels. Still have the 330 and eight more DAM Quicks from the 70's - just ultra dependable fishing reels Have a Great Fourth of July. Tad
Spincasters like the Zebco 202 get a of grief as being an 'inferior' product. But some say the same about using cane fishing poles, even though people have been catching tons of fish on them for generations. I say g'on and refurb that 202, take the $$$ you saved to buy lures & bait, and get on the water. When all is said and done, the fish don't care what was used to catch them.
